오픈액세스 리포지터리는 법적, 경제적, 기술적 장벽 없이 전 세계 이용자 누구라도 자유롭게 무료로 정보에 접근할 수 있도록 생산자와 이용자가 정보를 공유할 수 있는 지식정보 저장소를 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 기관 리포지터리(dCollection, DSpace@MIT)와 주제별 리포지터리(arXiv, PubMed Central)로 구분하여 각 리포지터리에서 제공하는 기능분석과 비교를 실시하였고 분석된 자료를 기초로 이용자 중심의 사용성 평가를 실시하였다． 정보에 대한 자유로운 접근과 공유가 중요시 되는 웹 2.0시대라 불리고 있는 현 시점에서, 오픈액세스 리포지터리에 대한 사용성 평가를 실시함으로서 향후 구축되는 리포지터리 개발에 기초자료가 될 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

본 연구는 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템과 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템을 구축하고 두 실험시스템의 사용성을 비교 평가하여 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템의 유용성을 밝히고자 하였다. 사용성은 전체적으로 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템 보다온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템이 더 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 국내 도서관들이 인터넷서점, 검색엔진, 웹포털 등에서 공개한 도서검색용 Open API를 통해 제공되는 풍부한 콘텐트를 온라인목록에서 공유하고 활용하면 서지데이터의 확충, 주제접근과 주제검색 능력의 확대, 메타 검색서비스의 확장, 소장도서의 이용가능성 증대, 목록비용의 절감 등에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

최근 사이버 채팅을 사용하는 인구가 증가함에 따라 다양한 사용자 그룹이 형성되었고 사용범위와 영역 또한 많은 변화를 가져오고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 사이버 채팅은 부가 서비스 사용 확대를 목적으로 운용되어 사용환경이 천편일률적이며, 기능의 다양화로 인하여 사용자 중심의 환경을 제공 해 주지는 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 사이버 채팅 시스템의 사용상 문제해결 방안을 위하여 사용성 평가를 통해 도출된 문제점을 비교분석하여 사용성 향상을 위한 사용자 인터페이스 디자인의 가이드라인을 제안한다. 이에 본 연구는 크게 두 부분으로 구분된다. 먼저 현존하는 문헌을 중심으로 웹 커뮤니케이션 도구로서의 사이버 채팅 시스템에 대하여 고찰하고 현재 사용되고 있는 채팅 현황을 조사하여 소개한다. 두 번째로는, 사용상의 문제점을 만족도 평가, 발견평가, 수행도 평가, 관찰평가를 실시하여 알아내고 사용성 평가결과 분석에 따른 사용상의 잠정적 문제 해결 방안을 제시하는 것으로 구성된다. 이는 향후 사이버 채팅 시스템의 보다나은 사용성 평가의 적용방법과 활성화를 꾀할 목적으로 진행되었다. 사용성 평가에 따른 주요 발견 점으로는 채팅 기능의 구조화, 화면 구성요소의 크기 및 배치에 따른 화면의 가시성, 대화환경에 따른 이미지나 기능의 적절한 메타포 사용의 개선 및 개발이 필요한 것으로 대두되었다.

[ $OntoFrame^{(R)}$ ]은 연구자들의 연구개발을 전주기적으로 지원하기 위해 시맨틱 웹 프레임워크를 기반으로 하여 정보유통 서비스와 추론 서비스를 제공하는 시스템이다. 기능성 측면에서 기존에 유사한 서비스를 찾지 못할 만큼 강력함을 가지고 있지만, 시스템 설계와 개발 단계에서 사용성 평가를 수행하지 않아 사용성 측면에서도 만족스러울 지의 여부를 판단하기 힘들다. 이에 본 연구를 통해 국내에서 거의 이루어지고 있지 않은 사용성 평가를 해당 시스템을 대상으로 수행하며, 평가 결과 분석을 통해 기능 중심적이 아닌 사용자 중심적 시스템으로 발전하기 위한 방향을 제시한다. 사용성 평가를 위해 소프트웨어 인간공학(Software Ergonomics) 전문가에 의한 '이론 중심 사용성 평가'와 사용자 그룹에 의한 '사용자 중심 평가(사용자 테스트)'를 병행하였으며, 본 연구 결과가 실제 서비스를 목표로 하는 시스템 개발에 있어서의 기반 연구가 될 것이라 기대한다.

Management systems for electronic library have been developed on the basis of Client/Server or ASP framework in domestic market for a long time. Therefore, both service provider and user suffer from their high cost and effort in management, maintenance, and repairing of software as well as hardware. Recently in addition, mobile devices like smartphone and tablet PC are frequently used as terminal devices to access computers through the Internet or other networks, sophisticatedly customized or personalized interface for n-screen service became more important issue these days. In this paper, we propose a new scheme of integrated management system for electronic library based on SaaS and Web Standard. We design and implement the proposed scheme applying Electronic Cabinet Guidelines for Web Standard and Universal Code System. Hosted application management style and software on demand style service models based on SaaS are basically applied to develop the management system. Moreover, a newly improved concept of duplication check algorithm in a hierarchical evaluation process is presented and a personalized interface based on web standard is applied to implement the system. Algorithms of duplication check for journal, volume/number, and paper are hierarchically presented with their logic flows. Total framework of our development obeys the standard feature of Electronic Cabinet Guidelines offered by Korea government so that we can accomplish standard of application software, quality improvement of total software, and reusability extension. Scope of our development includes core services of library automation system such as acquisition, list-up, loan-and-return, and their related services. We focus on interoperation compatibility between elementary sub-systems throughout complex network and structural features. Reanalyzing and standardizing each part of the system under the concept on the cloud of service, we construct an integrated development environment for generating, test, operation, and maintenance. Finally, performance analyses are performed about resource usability of server, memory amount used, and response time of server etc. As a result of measurements fulfilled over 5 times at different test points and using different data, the average response time is about 62.9 seconds for 100 clients, which takes about 0.629 seconds per client on the average. We can expect this result makes it possible to operate the system in real-time level proof. Resource usability and memory occupation are also good and moderate comparing to the conventional systems. As total verification tests, we present a simple proof to obey Electronic Cabinet Guidelines and a record of TTA authentication test for topics about SaaS maturity, performance, and application program features.

In this paper, we propose an software architecture for home network gateway set-top-box that supports the connectivity between various consumer devices and the Internet simultaneously. To improve the scalability of the software, the proposed architecture uses the abstracted protocol driving structure, and to enhance the user-friendliness, the unified device access and management user interface is implemented using web technology. A prototype for the proposed architecture is implemented for evaluating the usability under the home network test bed.

The usability of the Internet including WWW (World Wide Web) is dramatically growing in current business environment. These allow decision makers to enhance the productivity of decision making by referring valuable information in the remote sites, This paper presents the possibilities how WWW can be applied to build distributed and collaborative DSS, especially model management subsystem. A framework of Internet-based DSS is delineated, and then an idea of representing and managing models in the Internet-based DSS is suggested.

An unified measure of user interface efficiency and aesthetics for cyber museum is proposed. First, general structure of cyber museum is discussed and hierarchical analyses are done for sample sites. Usability tests based on the hierarchical analyses yield statistics of user access frequency and persistency for each page, on which access probability is deduced. Second, visual occupancy, a measure of efficiency of user interface element based on access probability is defined. The hierarchical statistics of visual occupancy can be an index for characterization and classification of cyber museums. Examples are provided.

대학도서관 웹사이트는 도서관의 이용을 원활하게 하고 정보자료에의 접근을 용이하게 하기 위해서 구성된다. 따라서, 웹사이트를 통해 도서관 서비스에 대한 안내, 이용자의 편의를 위한 온라인 참고봉사 서비스, 과거 수동적인 자세가 아닌 능동적인 정보제공서비스 뿐만 아니라 다양한 이용자의 사용행태를 파악하여 이를 통해서 서비스의 질을 높이고, 이용자의 요구사항을 파악하여 도서관 서비스를 개선해나가는 것이 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 충남대학교 도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 설문조사(Questionnaire)와 발견적 평가(Heuristic Evaluation)를 통해서 대학도서관 웹사이트의 사용성에 있어서의 문제점을 발견하고 개선점을 제시한다.
