  • This paper implemented the tools to measure the risk of the modules for the web application project written in ASP, using the Indicator of the Module Risk Levels. The Indicator of that is developed by GSFC group in NASA based on structural programming language and gives us software product quality metrics. The implemented tools examined with the ASP projects of the practical business. As the results the data shows the module risk levels easily, and then the data affects the maintenance to improve the application quality.

  • In view of reliability assessment, the failure mode analysis by performance tests for machine tools is researched in this study. First, the error analysis with circular movement test data is studied. The various errors and their origins are analyzed by the error equations and then related parts and failure modes are investigated. Second, This paper deals with analysis of vibration testing for machine tools spindle. The various frequency components are classified by fourier transform and order analysis. The simple measuring devices and web-based analysis programs for each test are also developed.

  • The study of available genotypes (biodiversity analysis) in bacterial communities is of growing importance in several fields such as ecology, environmental technology, clinical diagnostics, etc. These culture-independent genotyping techniques, especially amplifying 16S rRNA genes, attempt to overcome some shortcomings of conventional cultivation method. Biodiversity analysis based on molecular technique were laborious for base-calling chromatogram, trimming primer sites, correcting strand directions, electing representative operation taxonomic units (OTU), etc. Also, biologists wanted intuitively to confirm results of the above processes. For making up these demands, we developed the web application based on Folder-Process-Filter (FPF) modeling with correspondence to classical Model-View-Controller model. The model of web application leads to keep virtues of simplicity and directness for development and management of the stepwise web interfaces. The web application was developed in Perl and CGI on Linux workstation. It can be freely accessed from http://home.pusan.ac.kr/~genome/tools/rat.htm.

  • Reports of rampant cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities raise growing concerns on the effectiveness of current Static Analysis Security Testing (SAST) tools as an internet security device. Attentive to these concerns, this study aims to examine seven open-source SAST tools in order to account for their capabilities in detecting XSS vulnerabilities in PHP applications and to determine their performance in terms of effectiveness and analysis runtime. The representative tools - categorized as either text-based or graph-based analysis tools - were all test-run using real-world PHP applications with known XSS vulnerabilities. The collected vulnerability detection reports of each tool were analyzed with the aid of PhpStorm's data flow analyzer. It is observed that the detection rates of the tools calculated from the total vulnerabilities in the applications can be as high as 0.968 and as low as 0.006. Furthermore, the tools took an average of less than a minute to complete an analysis. Notably, their runtime is independent of their analysis type.

  • Since the mid-2000, so-called Web 2.0 paradigm was emerged and has been widely extended to actual Web markets with supporting Web technologies. Among Web 2.0 services, mashups with Open APIs is regarded as one of core technologies. Web mapping is also the most dominant mashup application in Open API-based applications, so that various mashups with Google Map API and other Open APIs are developing. In this paper, current technological status is explained with web GIS file formats of KML. While, a prototype is web-based GIS layer authoring system for general users, without any kinds of GIS tools and external spatial databases. This mashup application will be used web-based feature extraction for geo-spatial web for public users.

  • This study aims to find the way how to operate cataloging work effectively and share it between libraries through web based cataloging manual. There have been various trials in using web based tools in ether parts of library such as acquisition and reference service. However, in case of cataloging. the rules and policies of each library are not united. and any cooperation In sharing them between libraries is not done. Therefore. for Information sharing, practical cooperation and unification in cataloging work, each library needs to make web cataloging manuals and share them. That is, building the web based cataloging tools makes it easier to access the cataloging works and keep them updated. Additionally, it could improve the communication between the librarians who are in charge of cataloging and provide the chance for cooperation and information sharing between libraries. With these roles, web based cataloging manual could be the basic for standardization of cataloging.

  • Existing web applications and services have historically been implemented using JavaScript. However, new technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Big Data are being developed as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With the definition of the HTML5 web standard, services (such as the technologies mentioned above) that were previously not available through the Web become available. These services, however, need to have the same performance as native applications, and implementing these services will require new technologies. Therefore, additional tools that can work on the Web with native performance are needed. In this paper, a system for branching processing was established using JavaScript and WebAssembly, a language that can operate on the Web. This system performs user requests in advance, and requests are branched in a language that produces faster results. Therefore, a service capable of quick response times can be implemented.

  • Reference resources management tools can be divided into three types: Desktop-based, Web-based, and Web 2.0-based. This study is intended to compare and analyze the functions provided by the three types of tools and also to compare and evaluate their usability. Each Tools were chosen to represent each type. For comparison and analysis of the functions provided by the three types of tools, we divided the process of using reference resources management tools into four steps and then compared and analyzed sub items in each step. Satisfaction, understandability, conformance and efficiency that items for comparison and evaluation of the usability were compared using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. We surveyed the participants to collect data for quantitative research; and interviewed them and analyzed the results for qualitative research. Here are the results from evaluating the usability of Tool A(Desktop-based), B(Web-based), C(Web 2.0 based). First, Tool B had the highest mean user satisfaction, followed by Tool A and Tool C. Secondly, Tool B had the lead in understandability, followed by Tool A and Tool C. Thirdly, Tool A had the highest mean conformance, followed by Tool B and Tool C. Fourth, Tool B had the highest mean efficiency, followed by Tool A and Tool C.
