A Study on Design and Development of Web Information Collection System Based Compare and Merge Method (웹 페이지 비교통합 기반의 정보 수집 시스템 설계 및 개발에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, the quantity of information that is accessible from the Internet is being dramatically increased. Searching the Web for useful information has therefore become increasingly difficult. Thus, much research has been done on web robots which perform internet information filtering based on user interest. If a web site which users want to visit is found, its content is searched by following the searching list or Web sites links in order. This search process takes a long time according as the number of page or site increases so that its performance need to be improved. In order to minimize unnecessary search with web robots, this paper proposes an efficient information collection system based on compare and merge method. In the proposed system, a web robot initially collects information from web sites which users register. From the next visit to the web sites, the web robot compares what it collected with what the web sites have currently. If they are different, the web robot updates what it collected. Only updated web page information is classified according to subject and provided to users so that users can access the updated information quickly.

  • As the Internet users are growing, GIS researchers that would like to integrate various GIS informations have more interests for information searching technologies based on Web. But, even though these researches is growing a infinite possibility of utilizing the map, there are not yet providing more functionalized GIS services. This paper proposes a searching mechanism for the teacher information based on the SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) format transformed the SHP format. We also implement the home-page link function inserted Web-connection information of the specific locations that could connect specific school web site within SVG file. We also provide the services to interpret requested query with proposed scheme.

  • Researches on enhancing the searching function of the web service using the ontology concept have been studying. One of them suggests a searching method for UDDI using DAML and DAML+OIL. However this approach has inconveniences to use operations proper to the circumstance and to define respective ontologies according to them. To solve these problems, we introduce an effective method of dealing with N-Triple, filtering care Triples, merging Triples, semantic connection between Triples and searching Triples for searching information and recommending the results in semantic web environment. Furthermore, we implement this proposed method in a system to test it. Finally, we test the system in the virtual semantic web environment for out research analysis.

  • Web robot engine for searching web sever vulnerability and malicious code is proposed in this paper. The main web robot function is based on searching technology which is derived from analyses of private information threat. We implemented the detecting method for phishing, pharming and malicious code on homepage under vulnerable surroundings. We proposed a novel approachm which is independent of any specific phishing implementation. Our idea is to examine the anomalies in web pages.

  • The Web is evolving quantitatively into an explosive development. However, users usually have heavy burden of searching information because of the absence of contextual meaning on the Web. Due to an enormous amount of information, users have to endure for finding strong cohesive keywords by themselves and read each of the documents with enduring effort. This paper proposes an efficient method of searching more relative documents than current KEM-based searching systems on the Web by using contextual meaning. We designed a domain ontology on computer hardware, and a searching system which was searching those e-Learning objects. Owing to the Ontology-applied search system, information such as educational materials and related multimedia can be easily provided to the users. Further, learners could be informed of relationship of knowledge, e.g., class hierarchy, properties and values, and so on. The request results are semantically related to users' needs, and thus the system provides a learner-centered searching.

  • Recently, the Web has been constructed based on collective intel1igence and growing up quickly. User created contents have been made the mainstream in this environments. So it's required to make an efficient technique of searching for the contents. The current searching technique mainly is achieved by key words. Semantic Web based on similarity and relationship of a language and using user tags in web2.0 also have been researched with activity. Generally, the web of the participation architecture has a lot of user created contents, various forms and classification. Therefore, it is necessary to classify and to efficiently search for a lot of user created contents. In this paper, we propose a depth searching technique considering the relationship among the tags that descript user contents. It is expected that the proposed depth searching techniques can reduce the time taken to search for the unwanted contents and the increase the efficiency of the contents searching using a service of suggestion words in tags groups.

  • To interact database data with GRID system, implementation and installation of data manipulation module which manipulates database data and its index is required. Developing a search system searching data on web-based database, and integrating it with grid system, it is possible that searching data on web and use it directly on GRID system without independent data module. So, we can build easy and effective grid system, and the system could have more flexible architecture adapting data change. In this paper, we propose a searching system which interacting web-based database with GRID systems. We integrated the searching system with a bio god system which runs virtual screening jobs. As a result, UB Grid (Universal Bio Grid) is constructed. Developer could reduce time and effort required to integrate web data to GRID system, and user could use UB Grid system easily and effectively.

A Preliminary Examination on the Multimedia Information Needs and Web Searches of College Students in Korea

  • Multimedia searching is an important activity on the Web, especially among the younger generation. The purpose of this study aims to examine college students’ multimedia information needs and searching on the Internet. While there is a clear pattern among students with respect to their multimedia uses, searching sources, relevance criteria and searching barriers, some differences exist especially according to searching of different multimedia types such as image, audio and video. For multimedia uses, information/data-focused uses are frequently found in image and video, while the use of audio is mainly for object-focused searches. As multimedia searching sources, audio and video files present a similar pattern of being high in media specific searching sources and low in generic search engines. Browsing through related blogs and homepages is an important part of searching for media files accounting for approximately 20% of total search for each media. The relevance criteria used by study participants when search for image files was primarily concerned with topicality while the contextual and media quality in the audio and video types are also considered important. Searching barriers for audio and video files are categorized into three broad aspects, including access and search quality, preview limitations and collection limitations, while obstacles for image files searching include access difficulties and low qualities of various collection.

  • This paper implemented speech-library and the Web Services that conversion the Web page for the speech recognition. The system is consisted of Web services consumer and Web services providers. The Web services consumer has libraries that Speech-library and proxy-library. The Speech -library has functions as follows from the user's speech extracted speech-data and searching the URL in link-table that is mapped with user's speech. The proxy-library calls two web services and is received the returning result. The Web services provider consisted of Parsing Web Services and Speech-Recognition Web Services. Parsing Web Services adds ActiveX control and reconstructs web page using the speech recognition. The speech recognizer is the web service providers that implemented in the previous study. As the result of experiment, we show that reconstructs web page and creates link-Table. Also searching the URL in link-table that is mapped with user's speech. Also confirmed returning the web page to user by searching URL in link-table that is mapped with the result of speech recognition web services.

  • In this paper, we described web content searching system focused on the natural monuments, the endangered and reserved wild animals, the rare wild animals relevant to CITES & IUCN red data book, and the Korean endemic species. As a result of this research, we developed system for inserting and modifying of contents and efficient web searching system on the multimedia contents.
