  • This paper describes on a web server system, Oncho, designed for elementary education on WWW(World Wide Web), The system offers the diverse educational services required in the elementary education spot we discuss on the construction method, the education service type and the management method of the server system The Oncho service is consisted of educational contents service arranged on the curriculum basis, remote education service, Internet home-page service for the elementary schools located in Chungnam and Taejeon, These educational services operates based on the management utility of the learners, the high-speed communication environment using satellites.

  • Recently, people can create small content by themselves and it improved into a form that can be promoted. Also, as active small business owners increase, they produce the content for promotion by themselves without external professional help and they utilize it. This paper studies the method to make Mobile Apps, Mobile Web and homepage services available by automatically generating the mobile based mini content. The automated content creation system suggests the method that small business owners and groups can easily communicate with new people by bringing Single Page Application, hybrid mobile web app, N-Screen based content building, private cloud-based PaaS building technology, P2P network based file sharing and multimedia thread technologies together and creating the content.

  • Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) has enabled a visually appealing, browser-based application for the display of Brassica sequences relative to Arabidopsis thaliana, and there are currently more than 70,000 B. napus Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) displayed. The client side of this browser is based on a Custom Graphical User Interface (CGUI) library which uses SVG, a new web graphics standard, to provide windowing functionality inside the web browser. This windowing functionality, combined with asynchronous data retrieval and client side rendering overcomes two of the key technology imposed drawbacks of current web based browsers: Fixed displays and frequent page reloads. The end result is an intuitive and enjoyable browsing experience. The browser is accessible online from the Brassica / Arabidopsis Genomics Initiative (http://brassica.agr.gc.ca).   • The past researches focused on the supply chain network that consists of factories, distribution centers and retailers for single product type. This research is required because the factory for single product type is advanced to reconfigurable type in order to produce various products, according to customers' various purchase forms and time. This research is also required because in the past researches, the material flows from factories to distribution centers and from distribution centers to retailers, but recently, there are material flows between distribution centers. The supply chain network in this research consists of reconfigurable manufacturing system, multi-layered distribution centers, and retailers. A simulator is developed to analyze the material flow on the supply chain network. The developed simulator is web-based designed by using Java Server Page and MS-SQL, so as to maximize the convenience for users.

  • Web development and Internet technology development bring many kinds of works to web. This is the main reason why XML, document standard is popular. XML in web can be used to express document template or standard. XML with java can be more powerful and general. For example, XML can be used to transmit data and to print data into the screen using Ajax in JSP(Java Server Page) and to make interfaces in android, which is useful to reduce development cycle. However, XML is not easy to learn for the novice. In this paper, we propose the easy and effective way to reduce the learning curve of XML and to make and use XML documents. For the purpose, we suggest template base XML document generation and we design and implement XML document generator based on Template. XML document generator of template-based provides user interface and layout of XML document. So, users can generate XML document easily and effectively.

Performance of Database Driven Network Applications from the User Perspective

  • An understanding of performance of database driven network applications is critical in combating slow performance of e-commerce web sites, besides efficient web page design, and high quality and well-maintained web server equipment. This paper describes a method of measuring performance from the user viewpoint, which can help enormously in making realistic assessment of true performance of database driven applications. The performance measurements were taken at user locations by using several specially designed JavaScript functions along with ASP scripts. A performance study is presented in this paper, comparing performance of data access using stored procedures with the traditional way of querying a database. It is generally believed that stored procedures have performance benefits as they are pre-compiled. However, our study shows that the data access approach using stored procedures provides significant benefits(by about 30%) over the traditional approach for querying a commercial MySQL database, only when retrieving a substantial amount of data(at least 10,000 rows of data).

  • Destination marketing organizations (DMO) have been building up the cyber city in the WWW. Website for DMO is a core channel to promote regional attractions. This research suggests the issue of criteria for evaluating DMO's performance in the Internet. The method of evaluation focuses on the structure in perspective of linkage based on small world theory and direct network. Convention & Visitors & Bureau (CVB) in tourism and travel industry playa role to promote and held the international meeting and exhibitions. CVB's websites evaluated according to web link structure and performance.

  • 많은 중소기업들이 업무를 진행하는데에 있어서 수기로서 작업을 하기도 하고 아니면 간단한 프로그램를 사용하든지 아니면 중소기업형 ERP를 사용하기도 한다. HomePage의 경우에도 있는 경우도 있고 존재하지 않는 경우도 있다. 더구나 WEB으로 업무를 처리하는경우는 상당히 미흡하다. 개발을 하려고 하여도 WEB 기반으로 프로그램을 개발하는데는 Servlet 기반의 방식이 대다수 이다. 이 방식은 중소기업에서 개발하기에는 너무나 많은 개발비용과 유지비용이 들게되고 또한 네트워크 환경의 열악성 때문에 투자대비 효과를 얻기가 힘들다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 Applet을 이용하여 중소기업업무 프로그램을 WEB 기반으로 구축하여 자료의 사용을 Internet 또는 Intranet등에서 가능하게 하고 네트워크의 영향역시 AWT기반으로 Applet으로 제작하여 만들어지는 파일의 크기를 작게 구현해서 네트워크의 영향을 최소화 하게 구현을 하고, 프로그램을 클래스화시켜 재사용이 가능하게 하여 개발기간의 단축과 유지보수를 용이하게 하여 비용을 줄이도록 한다.
