  • Although the important information are significantly increasing in the Web, it is easily disappeared because of the Web's characteristics. The purpose of this paper is researching and developing of base technology for archiving web records. First developing about the workflow which is the procedure of web archiving, and developing about metadata elements, the essential condition of preserving web records and accessing archived resources. Finally developing the architecture defined the overall items of web records archiving.

Development of Evaluation Indicators for Web-based Agricultural Water Information System using Mandal-Art Method (만다라트(Mandal-Art) 기법을 이용한 웹기반 농업용수 정보시스템 평가지표 개발)

  • The importance of information system evaluation has increased according to ICT development and this evaluation is required for objective verification. The aim of this study is to develop evaluation indicators for web-based information system and verify the availability of these evaluation indicators through applying to agricultural water integrated information system. This study finds and provides eight evaluation items and 64 indicators for a web-based information system using $3{\times}3$ Mandal-Art matrix that is a tool for creating creative ideas. These evaluation items are design, contents, navigation, stability, community, convenience, usefulness, and accuracy. Total 64 evaluation indicators were presented by deriving eight evaluation items for each using $9{\times}9$ Mandal-Art matrix. When evaluating information system using evaluation indicators, it can be identified the vulnerable items in the information system. Also, the comprehensive results of the information system could be understood when appearing a single score after weighting. In addition, it can also help to prepare a questionnaire for evaluation systematically.

  • This study is design and implementation of diagnosis module using item response theory to assess level of student's knowledge in web-based instruction systems. Item response theory uses responses to items on a test or survey questionnaire to simultaneously locate both the items on the latent trait defined by the set of items while simultaneously scaling each item on the very same dimension. Existing method of measurement in web-based instruction system provided dichromatic learning after to be assess just with the total scores of exam. This measurement has an error that do not consider the level of student's knowledge. Moreover, this method can't perform an exact diagnosis of student knowledge and make student modeling to construct intelligent tutoring system. In this study, we present that design and implement a diagnosis module using item response theory to assess level of student's knowledge in web-based instruction systems

  • Current web accessibility checks and automatic assessments have been pointed out that the assessment items and scores are evaluated from the developer's point of view rather than from the user's one. In addition, although most of the grades of an automatic assessment on the public web sites are excellent because they are built in accordance with the web accessibility development guidelines, not a few web sites shows relatively low grades in evaluating their usability test made by those users. Taking into account the inadequacy of these web accessibility assessments, this study has identified the differences between the grades of usability evaluations and automatic evaluations for people with low vision and analyzed the major factors affecting web accessibility usability evaluations using Repertory Grid Techniques. Also, the Hard Laddering method of the Means-End Chain theory was adopted to visualize the relationship between Attributes-Conferences-Value and a hierarchical value system analysis based on FGI(Focused Group Interview) to people with the low vision. This study proposed the measures to improve the current web accessibility automatic assessment allocation, expert evaluation criteria, and user task assessment. In particular, it is a web accessibility user evaluation model that can consider the web accessibility quality certification criteria and user review assessment by directly analyzing the user cognitive structure and value system. This study is expected to be useful as a research to enhance the quality of web accessibility assessment.

A Study on Web based Integration of Design Resources with a Knowledge Based Engineering Technique (KBE 기법이 적용된 설계 자원 웹 기반 통합에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents an embodiment of design integration framework corresponding to changes in the latest manufacturing environment. The embodied system is named by 'WEB-KBE System' because it supports a product design with a KBE technique based on web environment. The final purpose of the work is to implement a web-based integration design environment with a KBE technique to support non-skillful designers. The framework of the system Is designed to support necessary items in user-centric design environment. Two case studies were applied to the WEB-KBE system to evaluate the efficiency, flexibility, extensibility, and reusability of the system. The examples are [1] CART integration design environment construction and (2) Exhaust Duct Saddle Support integration design environment construction. In the former case, it took a period of 8 months for modeling and implementation of the WEB-KBE prototype system. However, with the high extensibility and reusability of WEB-KBE system, the second case required only a period of one month for modeling and implementation of the system. We conclude that the presented WEB-KBE system can bring fair effects on implementing a knowledge based design environment in aspect of time and expense.

  • Recently, Internet is used widely. Many Web sites, however, are not designed based on user's view. So, this research aimed at grasping the user needs and structure of Web site which user used easily. First, to grasp user needs, questionnaires about the motivation, the purpose and the evaluation items of Web page were done. As a result, we found the easiness for the user. Next, we made subjects operated test pages in which the number of classes and the amount of information were changed. We collected the quantitative data of the optimum number of classes, amount of information and retrieval time. As a result, there was a significant difference in each numerical value. The results of this research are available when constructing a web site. so, usability of Web site can be improved by them.

  • To help the blind to find the information easily on World Wide Web, this research has tried to develop the device which enables us to convert HTML for the general into HTML for the blind. This program consists of the items as follows: 1. Web Robot to gather the internet browser and the general HTML. 2. Restoring DB by Parsing process 3. Multimedia editor for the use of web DB to add the literal and acoustic description to the editing function. 4. Convertor which gathers the DB and then changes into HTML for the blind. This project is designed to make it easy for the manager to establish the web site for the blind. We expect that this program will basically help the blind to overcome the inequality in the common information.

  • Because of a rapid increase of information available through web site, a user often falls into confusion of which web sites should be visited for his information needs. If a web site search engine can classify web sites according to their subject or topics, it can help the user to determine which web sites are worth accessing and thus to easily acquire relevant information. In this study, I propose new classifying system with a two level hierarchy and 57 items.

A Study on Application of Web-based Fashion Information Analysis System for Korea Women's Street Fashion 2005 S/S (패션 디자인 분석 시스템(Web-SFAS) 활용 국내 여성 스트리트 패션 조사 분석 -2005년 S/S를 중심으로-)

  • This was to confirm the Web-SFAS and street Fashion trend 2005. Korea women's street fashion in 2005 S/S was analyzed by using the Web-SFAS(Street Fashion Analysis System) that was developed and completed in the earlier research. Total 270 women who were sensitive to the fashion were surveyed around in 5 nationwide cities and 9 commercial zones. The analysis results of the questionnaire and image survey in 2005 S/S for each commercial zone is shown as follows: 1. The sequence of care with most interest in producing fashionable shape is in the order of clothes>accessory>hair style>make up>shoes, and it was found that the proper reason for visiting the commercial zone is to meet with friends than shopping. 2. Most preferred item for tops were shirts and T-shirts, while for bottoms were blue jeans of denim material in various colors and designs. The color had the clear winner in white color with the pink or yellow line of colors preferred in all commercial zones. The blue jeans and skirt items were the most dominant with the preference on the blue color. The color and image were diversely favored with light, natural, modern, elegance and warm images. 3. The semi-formal image was preferred in women's street fashion, 2005 S/S in Apgujeong-dong, Hapseong-dong, Myeong-dong, Hongik University area, Dongseong-ro, and the active comfort casual image was preferred by womens in Seo-myeon, Nampo-dong and Sangnam-dong. However the retro image were represented in Daehak-ro specially. The tendency of street fashion for women had the difference of their own trends for each commercial zone, rather then the regional differences for each city with the conspicuous preference of color for the items.

Factors Affecting Nurses' Web-based Learning Achievement in Schoolwork (학업병행간호사의 웹강의 수강에 따른 학업성취도에 영향 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors that affected self efficacy, social support and learning achievement in the web-based learning of graduate school students. Methods: The data were collected from 79 nurses in a web-based learning. A self-reported questionnaire was used to assess the level of self-efficacy, social support and learning achievement. Results: The learning achievement was significantly improved to 4.05 points after web-based learning compared to 2.69 points before web-based learning, and all other items were also improved. Self-efficacy was improved to 3.91 points from 3.66 points after web-based learning and so was social support to 4.18 points from 3.94 points. Fatigue and stress among health behavior characteristics were significantly decreased after web-based learning. Conclusion: This study shows that the web-based learning improved self-efficacy and social support of the students. And self-efficacy was an important factor in learning achievement. It is necessary to develop a strategy to improve self-efficacy as well as to manage social support for increasing interactions among the nurses in a web-based learning.
