서비스정보관리자를 위한 웹사이트 인터페이스 평가요인에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Study on Web Site User-Interface Evaluation For Service Information Management)

  • The main objective of this research is to find out whether there exist any user interface factors that influence service information management professionals(SIMP)'s business activities on the web. The result of this study shows that there exists a significant level of difference between two groups of office Professionals: SIMP and general office management professionals on user interface factors. We analyzed the past and current research results and focused on four major evaluation categories: (1) web design, (2) structure, (3) navigation, and (4) interaction and identified 26 evaluation items in those categories. The study has been initiated by an intuition that there might be a significant difference in sets of user interface factors that influence SIMP and general office professionals. From the list of Best 100 Web Sites the best 30 information-providing web sites and the best 30 service-providing web sites were carefully chosen by a panel of 10 members for each group. To evaluate 60 web sites, another panel was formed by 30 professionals from each group, and they conducted evaluation in their own work settings. Reliability analysis on user interface factors and T-test to find out any influencing factors on SIMP were performed. As a result of this study, we have recognized that clarity, formation, consciseness, economics, and robustness are the most influencing user interface factors for web designers to concern when they develop web sites for SIMP. The study result can be improved by enhancing reliability of choosing target web sites In investigate and panel members. Also, in the future study it is recommended to investigate influencing factors for office professionals in terms of. age, sex, experience, academic background, etc.

  • Recently, RFID has emerged as the main technology in the logistic services. When the existing recognition technology based on bar codes brings about lots of problem due to its own limits. RFID becomes the center of attention to solve them. However, RFID is not without any obstacles: companies have their own operating systems, while RFID is developed regardless of each company's special features. RFID middleware system based on web service is expected to remove these obstacles. This paper shows how to operate the middleware based on web service and to lay in the DB the tag informations taken from reader system. Middle assures that companies adopting RFID system for their logistic service are given adaptability to any systems whatsoever, available by way of defining logistic information, tag information and reader information. For this purpose, we implement as the basic web service a middleware system that turns all data into XML(eXtensible Markup Language) of SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), the standard data.

  • The virtual space of internet has changed the existed market structure as more and more internet users have highly increased. And this situation has given a golden opportunity to the internet service firms that are supposed to meet their customers through the internet web sites. So, it is becoming a critical issues to construct and keep better web sites than their competitors to the internet service firms. This paper is intented as an investigation of determination factors of internet web site quality further, which of them are more important factors to the consumer satisfaction. For this purpose, empirical approach using factor analysis, regression analysis was used to develop dimensions of internet web site quality and to explore more important factors that internet service firms should choice to have competitiveness. Empirical results of the study presented that the determination factors of internet web site quality were composed of five factors like Responsiveness, Accessibility, Ease of use, System Performance, Communication. And we found that Communication and Ease of use are more important factors than other ones. Therefore, the internet service firms that are plan to have more competitiveness than their competitors should choice these important factors and concentrate on these ones to build excellent internet web sites.

유비쿼터스 환경에서 사용자의 일정에 따른 지능 정보 제공 시스템 (Smart Adapted Service in Ubiquitous)

  • In this paper, we propose a Smart Adapted Service which can manage a schedule automatically. Smart Adapted Service gives a notice beforehand regarding information associated with the schedule, by searching the Internet. If the user has written down the name of goods or food which he wants to buy, Smart Adapted Service finds the most suitable store nearby him using the user's favorite list. The user's favorite list is created by Outlook Web Access System by analysing the schedule and habits of the user. User can access Smart Document System remotely through the Internet using Outlook Web Access System. We developed an Auto AP Roaming System for seamless communication and Smart Document System for arranging the information. We evaluated the system and verified that it is convenient to use and working well.

  • Most implementations of HTTP servers do not distinguish among requests for hypermedia data from different clients. Commercialization of Web site is becoming increasingly common. Therefore providing quality of service with members paying to the site is often an important issue for the hosts. For some uses, such as web prefetching or multiple priority schemes, different levels of service are desirable. We propose server-side TCP connection management mechanisms to provide two different levels of Web service, high and regular levels by setting different timeout for inactive connection. Therefore this mechanism can effectively provide different service classes even in the absence of operating system and network support.

  • Modern web services have been broadly deployed on the Internet. Most of these services use multi-tier architecture for flexible scaling and software reusability. However, managing the performance of multi-tier web services under dynamic and unpredictable workload, and different resource demands in each tier is a critical problem for a service provider. When offering quality of service assurance with least resource usage costs, web service providers should adopt self-adaptive resource provisioning in each tier. Recently, a number of rule- and model-based approaches have been designed for dynamic resource management in virtualized data centers. This survey investigates the challenges of resource provisioning and provides a competing assessment on the existing approaches. After the evaluation of their benefits and drawbacks, the new research direction to improve the efficiency of resource management and recommendations are introduced.

Performance Analysis of Web Service Architecture for Inter-AS DiffServ-over-MPLS Traffic Engineering

  • In this paper, the performance of the WebService architecture for QoS guaranteed connection provisioning in inter-AS domain networks has been measured and analyzed for service publish/inquiry, collection of NMSs ASBR details, source routing by ingress NMS in constraint based routing and connection establishment. From the analysis, it has been found that, the connection between inter-AS domain networks can be established within the usual time limits of 3 seconds by the Web Service architecture. Since no standard solutions have been implemented in Interdomain QoS provisioning, this performance analysis assures Web Service architecture as a promising solution and can be easily implemented in the early stages of MPLS network employment.

웹 서비스를 위한 예외 상황 기반 동적 서비스 연결 프레임워크 (Exception based Dynamic Service Coordination Framework for Web Services)

  • 인터넷상에서 접근 가능한 웹 서비스는 가용성 및 성능적 측면에서 신뢰성이 항상 보장되지는 못한다. 동적 서비스 연결 (dynamic service coordination) 기법은 웹 서비스를 호출하는 시스템이나 응용 프로그램에서 이 같이 신뢰할 수 없는 상황에 대처할 수 있는 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 웹 서비스의 신뢰적인 호출을 보장해 주기 위해서 동적 서비스 연결 기법에서는 특정 웹 서비스가 정해진 시간 내에서 응답하지 못할 경우 실행 중에 해당 웹 서비스를 다른 웹 서비스로 대체하여 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 서비스를 위한 예외 상황 기반 동적 서비스 연결 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이 프레임워크에서 동적 서비스 연결에 필요한 모든 정보들은 속성 (attributes) 집합 형태에 의해서 명시적으로 기술된다. 본 논문에서 고안된 동적서비스 연결 기법은 기술된 속성 정보를 기반으로 동적 서비스 연결이 가능한 클래스 또는 워크플로우를 자동으로 생성하고, 생성된 클래스 함수를 통해 웹 서비스를 간접적으로 호출함으로써 신뢰성 있는 웹 서비스 호출을 지원한다. 제안된 방식은 웹 서비스 호출 작업이 간접적으로 이뤄지기 때문에 이에 초래되는 약간의 성능적 손실을 피할 수는 없지만, 이 방법을 통해서 얻어지는 시스템의 유연성 (flexibility) 과 신뢰성 (reliability)를 고려할 때, 다소의 성능적 손실은 많은 경우에 있어서 허용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • BE(Best-Effort)방식의 인터넷에서 제공되던 Text위주의 서비스 제공 방식이 Multimedia 위주의 서비스로 점차 바뀌어 감에 따라, 기존의 BE(Best-Effort)방식으로는 Multimedia QoS(Quality of Service)를 보장하기가 어려워졌다. 이에 IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)에서는 변화하는 인터넷 환경에서 QoS 보장을 위해 Diffserv(Differentiated Service)방식을 제안하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 Content를 제공하는 Linux Web Server에서 패킷을 클래스 분류기준(Classification Method)에 의해 분류하고 Scheduling Algorithm을 적용하여 DSCP(Differentiated Service CodePoint) 값을 Web Server 자체에서 결정하여 경계라우터(Edge Router)로 전송하는 방식을 취하였으며, 이를 토대로 하여 경계라우터의 Traffic 부하를 줄이고, 경계라우터의 코어라우터(Core Router)화를 통해 더욱더 향상된 Differentiated Service를 제공하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 본 논문에서는 ns2 를 통해 IETF에서 제안된 Diffserv방식과 본 논문에서 제안한 방식의 Diffserv 방식과 현재의 BE방식을 비교하여 어느 정도의 성능 향상이 있었는지 비교 분석하였다.

  • A web based E-mail system consists of serves which supply mail accounts and service, and clients which take part of interfacing with users. The web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer are the popular clients. Users who cannot afford to get an E-mail id in general mail servers are, therefore, able to reach a e-mailing service in the web environment by using client programs in connection with a mail server. Although the quality of service has been upgraded a lot in recent days, it doesn't provide with satisfactory services anymore. In this paper, we intend to design a mail agent system based on the web environment. Through this system we could reach a convenient user interface based on Internet Explorer and could easily access administratory environment on the basis of NT Server 4.0. Using the service engine dominent in mail agent system, it could provide with convenient user interfacing tools like responding the absence of users, mail filtering and refusing messages, etc. And it would ultimately make possible a constant system security, by preventing system failure phenomena caused by extraordinary uses beyond its capability.
