The Korean Ocean Science and Fisheries Information Center, established with the supports of Korea Science and Engineering Foundation(KOSEF) and Yosu National University, is to construct the remote data information management system based on the databases of research data, references, recent trends, equipments of ocean science and fisheries. This center supplies research informations through Web GIS to the research institutions, universities, fishermen, and government authorities, and contributes to the development of ocean science and fisheries of Korea. This paper describes role and function of Korean Ocean Science and Fisheries Information Center.

The virtual engineering technologies have been broadly used for the design, testing, manufacturing and maintenance works of industrial product. Recently many VR systems with walk through navigation and web databases; such as design and installation database. load history database, maintenance history database et al. are developed. However, the virtual engineering in railroad industry is not well developed compared to other industries like automobile, air, shipbuilding. In this paper, we explain the strategy that we have applied the virtual engineering technology to the design works of rolling stock and our plan to build the virtual testing laboratory(VTL) in the Korea Railroad Research Institute.

Purpose: This study was done to clarify the concept analysis of positive psychological capital. Methods: Walker and Avant's concept analysis process was used in this study. CINAHL, ProQuest, Web of science, NDSL, RISS databases from 2004 to 2016 were searched using the keywords 'Positive psychological capital' and 'PsyCap'. Sixty-one relevant articles and three book were finally selected. Results: Analysis of identified literature indicated that positive psychological capital attributes were developable potential, positive cognition, expression of emotion, multiple psychological capability, and resources with positive effect. The antecedents were goal achievement, training, leader's motivation, and supportive organizational environment. The consequences were overall wellbeing which is composed of individual's physical, psychological and social wellbeing and enhancement of work outcome. Conclusion: The findings in this study provide a definition of the concept of positive psychological capital and theoretical evidence for the future research for nurses including program development.

Objectives To review the case studies and controlled studies about Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment. Methods We searched 92 studies about Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture from 6 Korean web databases, using words 'Jungsongouhyul', 'Jungsongouhyul and pharmacopuncture', 'ouhyulpharmacopuncture' and 'ouhyul and pharmacopuncture' in Korean alphabet. We removed 63 duplicated studies. And we excluded 12 studies by reviewing abstract and the contents of a study. Results We selected 5 case studies and 12 controlled studies, excluding experimental research and study not on humans, not using the Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture for major treatment. Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture was used mostly in whiplash injury and all studies showed that Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture is effective treatment. But we found some lacking parts with study design in most studies. Conclusions We found out that Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture is effective in various diseases. But we need to do more well-designed study to increasing reliability of Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment.

In many image-coding applications such as web browsing, image databases, and telemedicine, it is needed that only a region of interest(ROI) is transmitted and then reconstructed first before the whole image is transmitted and reconstructed. The Maxshift method has been used as a standard one in this research about ROI coding in JPEG2000. However Maxshift method can process only one ROI, this paper suggests an improved Maxshift method which can process Multiple ROI haying the priority order. In this method, the ROI coefficient which has the high priority order can be moved to upward two bit plane in order to process multiple ROI.

This paper presents a content-search system built on distributed environments using the open product model of STEP, The content-search system searches design data for given product descriptions such as part name and features. Distribute object interfaces has been defined by IDL and distributed product data are searched through CORBA protocols. Web interfaces are also provided for interactive user interfaces. Given a user request, a mediator interacts with distributed search servers and sends collected results back to the user. The mediator has such metadata as location, program name, and other information about product data stored on distributed system. The search servers use SDAI interfaces to search STEP files or databases. The content-search system promotes the reuse of previous design within a company and the outsourcing of part designs.

University libraries need the development of a common Internet-based reference request system in order to prevent duplicated investment and provide interoperability among them. This paper proposes a standard of Internet-based reference recluest system that serves reference request-responses and that provides reference source sites on the world wide web. Using this system, university libraries can cooperate other libraries with reference databases and may perform tasks of reference service efficiently.

This is an integrative review paper of Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) simulation programs in the mental health area including the analysis of the general characteristics, contents, and the impact of the interventions studies. The keywords used to search the studies were "AR/VR" and "medical/nursing students". The author and a postdoctoral research fellow searched four electronic databases: Web of Science, PubMed, EmBase, and CINHA, and as a result nine studies met the inclusion criteria. Among the selected studies AR/VR simulation programs in the mental health area for healthcare professionals were found to be effective in clinical skills as well as for the interpersonal relationship and the stigma of mentally ill patients. Providing an opportunity to experience a safe and effective tool is important when educating health professionals and AR/VR simulation programs are safe and effective. Thus, standardized AR/VR simulation programs are needed to be developed for health professionals.

As the Internet is used extensively, multimedia information becomes more prevailing and accessible. However, legacy decision support systems rarely mention how to put such multimedia contents into practical use for decision making and support. In particular, no proposals have yet been made on how to integrate the decision technologies and multimedia databases in model management systems. Hence, the aim of this paper is to propose a new model management method to integrating decision technologies and an image database management system to create a multimedia decision support. For this purpose, extended ARG and structured modeling techniques are adopted, to represent image contents and mathematical models respectively. A web-based prototype system is presented to illustrate the feasibility and usability of the methodology.

This paper reports on the application of network analysis approaches to investigate the characteristics of graph representations of Japanese word associations. Two semantic networks are constructed from two separate Japanese word association databases. The basic statistical features of the networks indicate that they have scale-free and small-world properties and that they exhibit hierarchical organization. A graph clustering method is also applied to the networks with the objective of generating hierarchical structures within the semantic networks. The method is shown to be an efficient tool for analyzing large-scale structures within corpora. As a utilization of the network clustering results, we briefly introduce two web-based applications: the first is a search system that highlights various possible relations between words according to association type, while the second is to present the hierarchical architecture of a semantic network. The systems realize dynamic representations of network structures based on the relationships between words and concepts.
