In this paper, we suggest a kernel level multi thread web accelerator (called the SCALA-AX), which significantly improves the performance of the web soerver. In comparison with a conventional proxy web cache that is generally called a caching server and a simple content-copy based system, the primary functions and goals of SCALA-AX are designed to maximize the content services of a front end web server with high performance. Specifically, the SCALA-AX runs on the kernel level of a web sorrel, based on the newest caching techniques. Moreover, the SCALA-AX supports the http 1.1 protocol and allows the dynamic pages as well as static pages to be processed.

The intricacies of web development have orchestrated a paradigm shift in academic libraries. The study explored literature on the status of automation of academic libraries and web development in Nigeria. It was established that the functions of library management software are abysmally under-utilized in academic libraries in Nigeria, thus, progression of automation projects remain a swinging pendulum. The paper, therefore, recommends that librarians should acquire the relevant training and plan strategically for all automation projects aimed at incorporating the intricacies of the web and ICTs into library services to fully utilize the functions of the library management systems in line with web developmental stages, thus, be able to compete globally.

많은 사용자들이 접속하는 웹 사이트는 그 내용이나 사용자가 조작할 수 있는 콘텐츠의 품질이 중요하다. 현재 대부분의 병원 웹 사이트는 단순히 병원에 대한 정보만을 제공하는 수준에 머물러 있다. 그러나 사용자들은 병원을 이용하기 위한 예약에서부터 상담 등에 이르는 폭넓은 사용 환경을 원하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 콘텐츠를 제공하는 원무 시스템을 설계하였다. 이 내용에 따라 웹 사이트를 구축하게 되면 사용자나 병원 측 모두 만족하는 결과를 가져올 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement web-based parental education programs applicable for the parents of young children in Korea. The results of this study were as follows. First, the parents of the young children recognized the importance of parental education, but were unable to participate in face-to-face parental education programs. However, they welcomed the possibility of participating in web-based parental education programs. Second, to develop web-based parental education programs, the parents' needs should be assessed and preliminary content analysis based on the previous works and subject specialists' opinions should be conducted. In addition, results of research about web-based education programs in various fields, especially about teaching-learning methods in web-based education for adult learners, should be considered in the process of developing web-based programs for the parents of young children. Third, various types of needs and demands should be assessed during the step-by-step program application periods and at the end of the program implementation. Finally, the parents who participated and assessed the web-based parental education program in this study were generally satisfied with the content and teaching-learning methods.

This study examined the perception and use of web 2.0 applications for academic purposes by medical students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. The objective was to investigate the medical students' perceptions of web 2.0 applications, web 2.0 tools use, extent of use, perception and purpose for using web 2.0 applications. Descriptive survey method was used for this study. The total population of this study was 3670 and the sample size was 367 representing 10% of the study. The purposive sampling technique was adopted, and the instrument used for this study was questionnaire, a total of 367 copies were administered and 321 were found useful for the study. Percentage means and standard deviation on table and chart were used to analyze the data collected using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Findings showed that the perception of web 2.0 applications of medical students AAU was positive and few of web 2.0 applications were used for academic purposes. It was recommended in the study that medical students should be provided with the facilities in a format more familiar to them and used by most of them and institutions need to equip the learning process with the needed facilities which will be of utmost benefit even for future purposes.

4차 산업 혁명으로 인해 많은 기술들이 발전했다. 해당 기술들은 웹 표준 HTML5를 이용하여 웹을 통해 많은 사용자들에게 제공되고 있다. 웹에서 제공되는 콘텐츠가 증가함에 따라 웹을 이용하는 사용자의 수가 증가하였고 기존보다 더 웹 속도에 대한 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 왜냐하면 사용자들은 웹 페이지 로딩 속도가 빠르게 되는 것을 기대하고 있기 때문에 웹 페이지 로딩 속도가 증가되면 사용자들은 해당 페이지를 이탈하게 된다. 즉 웹 페이지 로딩 속도와 페이지 이탈률은 비례 관계에 있다. 따라서 콘텐츠를 제공하는 속도를 증가시켜 웹 페이지 로딩을 빠르게 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹을 통해 제공되는 콘텐츠 중 하나인 이미지에 관련하여 웹에서 이미지를 제공할 때 어떤 방식으로 제공하면 더 빠르게 제공될 수 있는지 실험을 통해 확인해보자고 한다. 해당 실험 결과를 바탕으로 웹을 통해 이미지를 제공하는 속도가 빠른 방법을 확인하고 해당 방법으로 이미지를 제공함으로써 페이지 이탈률을 낮추며 기존보다 더 사용자 친화적인 서비스를 제공하고자 한다.

본 논문에서는 대용량 온라인 이미지 공유 사이트를 적용 도메인으로 하여 이미지 검색의 만족도를 높이고자 태그의 의미적 연관성과 이미지 자체의 내용 정보를 결합하는 이미지 분류 방법을 제안한다. 이미지 검색 및 분류 알고리즘이 플리커와 같은 대용량 이미지 공유 사이트에서 활용될 수 있으려면 실제 웹상의 태깅된 이미지를 대상으로 한 적용이 가능해야 한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 'bag of visual word'기반의 이미지 내용으로 웹 이미지를 분류하기 위한 것으로서, 의미적 연관태그를 이용해 일차 검색된 이미지들을 훈련 데이터로 사용하여 카테고리 모델을 훈련하고, PLSA를 적용하여 평가 이미지들을 분류하는 것이다. 제안된 방법으로 플리커의 웹 이미지들을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 태그 정보를 이용한 기존의 방법에 비해 우수한 검색 정확도 및 재현율을 확인할 수 있었다.

학술적 웹 공간을 대상으로 하는 연구는 페이지와 링크의 역동성 때문에 정량적인 방법과 함께 내용 분석 등의 정성적인 방법을 사용하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 내용 분석의 한 방법으로 한국 학술적 웹 공간 내에서 외부 링크로 연결된 페이지 및 링크의 유형을 분류한 후 이를 네트워크 구조 분석에 반영하여 한국 학술적 웹 공간의 특성을 자세히 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 데이터의 수집 시점을 나타내는 기본 네트워크와 내용 분석 시점을 나타내는 활성 네트워크 사이에 구조적으로 큰 차이가 없었으나, 기관 유형별로 다른 기관들을 링크하는 목적이 다르게 나타났다. 그리고 한국 학술적 웹 공간은 여러 중앙성 지수들과 결속계수 간의 설명력이 유사하게 나타나는 형태의 네트워크임을 확인하였다.
