Development of a System for Visualization of the Plant 3D Design Data Based on ISO 15926 (ISO 15926 기반 플랜트 3D 설계 데이터 가시화를 위한 시스템 개발)

  • ISO 15926 is an international standard for the sharing and integration of plant lifecycle information. Plant design data consist of logical configuration, equipment specifications, 2D piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), and 3D plant models (shape data). Although 3D computer-aided design (CAD) data is very important data across the plant lifecycle, few studies on the exchange of 3D CAD data using ISO 15926 have been conducted so far. For this, we analyze information requirements regarding plant 3D design in the process industry. Based on the analysis, ISO 15926 templates are defined for the representation of constructive solid geometry (CSG) - based 3D design data. Since system environments for 3D CAD modeling and Semantic Web technologies are different from each other, we present system architecture for processing and visualizing plant 3D design data in the Web Ontology Language (OWL) format. Through the visualization test of ISO 15926-based 3D design data for equipment with a prototype system, feasibility of the proposed method is verified.

  • 근로자의 수를 최소화한 자동화 공장의 경우 전체 공장의 상태를 실시간으로 정확하게 확인하기 어려운 문제가 있다. 또한, 장비나 센서의 배치가 복잡하고 명칭만으로 이해하기 어려워 현장에 있지 않은 사람들은 해당 데이터의 의미나 문제 발생 여부를 판단하기 어렵다. 이 논문은 시·공간적 한계를 극복하고 공장의 상태를 한눈에 파악할 수 있는 실시간 공장 상태 정보 시각화 도구를 구현하여 상시적인 모니터링과 함께 이상 상태 발생 시 빠른 대처가 가능하도록 하였다. 이 도구는 반응형 웹 기반으로 개발하여 모바일 환경에서도 동일하게 작동하기 때문에 범용성 있는 스마트 팩토리 구축 시스템의 일부로 활용할 수 있다.

  • The reason why today's public actively uses social communication is that the necessary information is collected and classified under the name of social big data through the web space to create the big data era, an ecosystem of information. In order for big data information to be used by the public, it is necessary to visualize it easily. This study categorized the types of visualization according to the information of social big data, and targeted the experienced students including the related majors and the general public who need to directly utilize and study the actual big data visualization as an experience evaluation target. As a result of analyzing the experiences of the experienced people, important implications for the visualization method for managing, analyzing, and utilizing the data were derived. The big data visualization strategy is to be expressed in a way that fits the data environment and user's eye level on SNS. In the future, if big data visualization is applied to product service or social trend, it will be an important data in terms of broadening its role, scope of application, and application.

A Study on Information Visualization using Building Information Modeling (BIM을 이용한 정보 시각화에 관한 연구)

  • The global warming has been recognized as a serious problem. To solve this problem, the country of all the world have conducted techniques such as energy saving and reduction of greenhouse gas. The 30% of total energy is being consumed by buildings domestically and BAS/BEMS are being operated for the management of building energy. But, BEMS is unsatisfactory condition to manage the energy efficiently. In this study, We investigate real application on Chamsaem elementary school as a target buildings and develop 3D Web Browser platform. The spatial information of target buildings is described with used BIM and the energy information is presented for facilities operation and electricity consumption in floor and facility. We perform the quantitative evaluation based on ISO/IEC 9126 and operate this system for two months. in result, energy decreased by about 16%. We expect that the proposed 3D Web Browser system will bring operating efficiency improvement of the current BEMS.

  • In the recently diversified web environment, the existing methodologies for studying and evaluating the usability of infographics have limit in being applied to new user experience environment. To ensure effective web design that considers various user environments, research needs to be done for such usability of infographics that executes 'simplification and compression of information'. The purpose of this study is to understand the expandability of web-based infographic design, re-establish its concept, and produce the elements involved in the usability evaluation to come up with effective data on user experience. It is expected that this study will be used as a basic research for elucidating the connection to type-based or experienced-based data through convergence of various areas of information technology in the continuously transforming smart media environment.

The Brassica/Arabidopsis Comparative Genome Browser A Novel Approach to Genome Browsing

  • Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) has enabled a visually appealing, browser-based application for the display of Brassica sequences relative to Arabidopsis thaliana, and there are currently more than 70,000 B. napus Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) displayed. The client side of this browser is based on a Custom Graphical User Interface (CGUI) library which uses SVG, a new web graphics standard, to provide windowing functionality inside the web browser. This windowing functionality, combined with asynchronous data retrieval and client side rendering overcomes two of the key technology imposed drawbacks of current web based browsers: Fixed displays and frequent page reloads. The end result is an intuitive and enjoyable browsing experience. The browser is accessible online from the Brassica / Arabidopsis Genomics Initiative (http://brassica.agr.gc.ca).   • Recently, the use of various location-based services-based location information systems using maps on the web has been expanding, and there is a need for a monitoring system that can check power demand in real time as an alternative to energy saving. In this study, we developed a deep learning real-time virtual power demand prediction web system using open source-based mapping service to analyze and predict the characteristics of power demand data using deep learning. In particular, the proposed system uses the LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) deep learning model to enable power demand and predictive analysis locally, and provides visualization of analyzed information. Future proposed systems will not only be utilized to identify and analyze the supply and demand and forecast status of energy by region, but also apply to other industrial energies.

  • People spend most of their time in the indoor environment. Among the various indoor environmental factors, air and thermal environment directly affect human's health and efficiency of work. Therefore, efficient monitoring of indoor environment is highly important. For assisting the residents to understand the state of the indoor environment much easier and more intuitive, this paper analyze the visualization cases of the conventional indoor environment. Then explore the direction of improvement for the visualization method to propose a more effective visualization method. The approach of web and BIM(Building Information Model)-based visualization of indoor environment proposed in this study is composed of four major parts: 1) the generation of the model data of the building; 2) the generation of indoor environmental data; 3) the creation of visualization elements; 4) data mapping. Then it realized through the generating process of visualization results.

  • A literature analysis for the planning and implementation of information system was carried out to establish the oceanographic R&D results, the first in Korea. The study targeted from scientific & technical report and to oceanographic survey data. The focus of the analysis lies in the providing practical information retrieval service for oceanographic R&D results based on the framework of effective Dublin Core metadata. The analyses included information system organization, web information service process, data input-output process, web visualization process, and retrieval for planning and implementation of oceanographic survey data and scientific & technical report.

  • High resolution satellite imagery is regarded as one of the important data sets to engineering application, as well as conventional scientific application. However, despite this general view, there are a few target applications using this information. In this study, the possibility for the future wide uses in associated with smart graphics of this information is investigated. The concept of smart graphics can be termed intelligent graphics with XML-based structure and knowledge related to semantic web, which is a useful component for the data dissemination framework model in a multi-layered web-based application. In the first step in this study, high resolution imagery is transformed to GML (Geographic Markup Language)-based structure with attribute schema and geo-references. In the second, this information is linked with GIS data sets, and this fused data set is represented in the X3D (eXtensible 3D), ISO-based web 3D graphic standard, with styling attributes, in the next stop. The main advantages of this approach using GML and X3D are the flourished representations of a source data according to user/clients’ needs and structured 3D visualization linked with other XML-based application. As for the demonstration of this scheme, 3D urban modelling case with actual data sets is presented.
