In this study, wearable ECG measurement system was implemented for health monitoring during daily life. A wearable belt-type ECG electrode worn around the chest by measuring the real-time ECG is produced in order to minimize the inconvenience in wearing. The measured ECG signal is transmitted via an ultra low power consumption wireless data communications unit to personal computer using Zigbee-compatible wireless sensor node. The ECG monitoring program is developed at end user which is personal computer. The measured ECG contains many noises mainly due to motion artifacts. For ECG signal processing, adaptive filtering process is proposed which can reduce motion artifacts efficiently and accurately than digital filter. The experimental results show that a reliable performance with high quality ECG signal can be achieved using this wearable ECG monitoring system.

A recent major development in computer technology is the advent of wearable computer systems. Wearable computer systems employ a wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), which refers to a combination of USB with the WiMedia wireless technical specifications. In this study, we focus on an integrated system of WUSB over wireless body area networks (WBANs) for wireless wearable computer systems. However, current WBAN MACs do not have well-defined quality of service (QoS) mapping and resource allocation mechanisms to support multimedia streams with the requested QoS parameters. To solve this problem, we propose a novel QoS-aware time slot allocation method. The proposed method provides fair and adaptive QoS provisioning to isochronous streams according to current traffic loads and their requested QoS parameters by executing a QoS satisfaction algorithm at the WUSB/WBAN host. The simulation results show that the proposed method improves the efficiency of time slot utilization while maximizing QoS provisioning.

Nowadays, technologies such as RFID, sensor network makes our life comfortable more and more. In this paper we propose a wearable computing system for blind and deaf person who can be easily out of sight from our technology. We are making a wearable computing system that is consisted of embedded board to processing data, ultrasonic sensors to get distance data and motors that make vibration as a signal to see the screen for a deaf person. This system offers environmental informations by text and voice. For example, distance data from a obstacle to a person are calculated by data compounding module using sensed ultrasonic reflection time. This data is converted to text or voice by main processing module, and are serviced to a handicapped person. Furthermore we will extend this system using a voice recognition module and text to voice convertor module to help communication among the blind and deaf persons.

Early wearable robotic devices were big, powerful and manipulator-like. Recently, various applications of wearable robotics have shown a greater demand for lower weight and compliancy. One approach to achieve these objectives is the use of novel actuators such as twisted string actuators. These actuator are very light, quiet, mechanically simple and compliant. Therefore, they can drastically decrease the weight and size of robotic systems such as exoskeletons. However, one drawback of this actuator is its nonlinear transmission ratio, which is established as a ratio between the angle of twisting of the strings and their resulting contraction. In this paper, we propose a transmission mechanism with rotational motion as the output incorporating a twisted string actuator (TSA). The designed mechanism allows the linearization of the relationships between the input and output displacements and forces of a TSA. The proposed design has been validated theoretically and through a set of computer simulations. A detailed analysis of the performance of the proposed mechanism is presented in this paper along with a design guideline.

In this paper, a voice, object, and optical character recognition platform including voice recognition-based smart wearable devices, smart devices, and web AI servers was proposed as an appropriate technology to help the visually impaired to live independently by learning the life cycle of the visually impaired in advance. The wearable device for the visually impaired was designed and manufactured with a reverse neckband structure to increase the convenience of wearing and the efficiency of object recognition. And the high-sensitivity small microphone and speaker attached to the wearable device was configured to support the voice recognition interface function consisting of the app of the smart device linked to the wearable device. From experimental results, the voice, object, and optical character recognition service used open source and Google APIs in the web AI server, and it was confirmed that the accuracy of voice, object and optical character recognition of the service platform achieved an average of 90% or more.

Communication flow is changing rapidly. Recently, a range of wearable devices such as wearable glasses and wearable watch, have been launched. These kinds of wearable devices help people to live a more comfortable life. Wearable devices most have an antenna for wireless communication. This paper reports a transparent antenna that is made of an optically transparent material for wearable glasses. Transparent antenna can be applied to smart windows and will not disturb the view of user. IZTO/Ag/IZTO multilayer electrode has higher electrical and optical properties. This antenna is available because of its good electrical properties. This study measured the performance of the proposed transparent antenna, which is made of a multilayer electrode, applied to a lens. The proposed antenna was simulated with several substrates. The antenna impedance was matched with length and width of the antenna. The antenna's conductivity and transparency was measured using a HMS-3000 and UV-spectrometer. A 40nm thick Ag single layer antenna was fabricated on a flexible polyimide substrate for comparing the antenna performances. The fabricated antenna is useable at a frequency of 2.4-2.5GHz, which is suitable for Wifi communications and has peak gain of 2.89dBi and an efficiency of 34%.
Interest in healthcare and wearable devices has been increasing recently. A strain sensor is required in various wearable devices. With respect to such devices, studies on resistance changes in strain sensors using flexible materials are in progress. However, the resistance of the rest area in a strain sensor should not change according to the applied strain. So, an electrode with resistance to stretching, bending, and torsion is required in such strain sensors. Tension, bending, and torsion can be realized through structural shape control, rather than by using flexible materials. Further, such an electrode that maintains electrical properties has been developed and manufactured. This electrode can be used in various applications such as foldable devices, e-papers, batteries, and multifunctional wearable devices.

A wearable ubiquitous health care monitoring system using integrated ECG and accelerometersensors based on WSN is designed and developed. Wireless sensor network technology is applied for non intrusive healthcare in some wide area coverage with small battery support for RF transmission. We developed wearable devices which are wearable USN node, sensor board and base-station. Low power operating ECG and accelerometer sensor board was integrated to wearable USN node for user's health monitoring. The wearable ubiquitous healthcare monitoring system allows physiological data to be transmitted in wireless sensor network from on body wearable sensor devices to a base-station connected to server PC using IEEE 802.15.4. Physiological data displays and stores on server PC continuously.

In the ICT field, one among the remarkable issue of in 2014 is the "Wear computer", that is, the opening of "Wearable Device" age. The Samsung galaxy gear and products like Google glass and Apple watch are done as the wearable device. According to the definition of MIT Media Lab, the wearable device adheres to the body and is included till the application which names all things doing the computing action and can perform the partial computing function. And the wearable device is one brain. If the wearable device is popularized, it will be changed many things. First of all, 2 hands become free. My body is due to be connected to 24 hours Internet. It is not level that it adheres the Smart phone or device to the body and the brain role in which the device is connected outside directly, the human body is done. In this paper, the related companies analyze the technical elements of this wearable device especially.
