NC Program Generation Using Off-Line Teaching of Deburring Path

  • Die-casting burr to casting process is removed by post-process for assembly and quality control of product. Though robot has been widely used for deburring job before. CNC exclusive machine is currently developed for high power, high speed machining and quick tool change. Deburring tool path with complex 3D curve type is defined to make out deburring NC program. But there is no efficient method to define it currently used methods with teaching probe on machine. In this study the efficient method to make out deburring NC program is developed. 5-axis digitizing machine is used to receive data of deburring path. And the post process for NC program generation is developed in consideration of the machining conditions. The developed system is not dependent on the skill of operator and has the advantage to maintain the flexibility of job to modify NC program due to the wear of tool and aging of the die casting.

경유가 혼입된 엔진오일의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Diluted Engine Oil Characteristics by Diesel Fuel)

  • An experimental study was conducted to evaluate characteristic variation of diluted engine oil by diesel fuel and its effects on engine components. Especially, engine oil was made to have $15\%$ fuel content. To predict existing diesel fuel content in engine oil after test was used the viscosity calibration curve. About $54\%$ percent of diesel fuel in diluted engine oil was distillated by various paths related to reciprocating motion of piston and the rest diesel fuel plays an important role for decreasing engine oil viscosity. Test results show that lowered engine ell viscosity by diesel fuel dilution become a reason of increasing engine elements wear, Therefore, this caused the quantity of blow-by gas to increase and main gallery pressure to decrease.

코팅 경사기능 재료의 균열전파에 관한 평가 (The Evaluation of Crack Propagation in Functionally Graded Materials with Coatings)

  • Recently, new functionally graded material(FGM) that has a spatial variation in composition and properties is developed because of its good quality. This material yields the demands for resistance to corrosion and high temperature in turbine blade, wear resistance as in gears and high strength machine parts. Especially coating treatment in FGM surface brings forth a mechanical weak at the interface due to discontinuous stress resulting from a steep material change. It often, leads cracks or spallation in a coating area around an interface. The behavior of propagation cracks in FGMs was here investigated. The interface stresses were reduced because of graded material properties. Also graded material parameter with exponential equation was founded to influence the stress intensity factor. And the resistance curve with FGM coating was slightly increased.

  • KAERI has contrived 14 kinds of spacer grid shapes of its own since 1997 and applied for Korean and US patents. To date. KAERI has obtained US and Korean patents for 6 kinds of spacer grid shapes among them. Tn this study. performance test on two spacer grid shapes that are assumed to be the most effective candidates for the spacer grid of the next generation nuclear fuel in Korea was carried Qui through the mechanical/structural test and analysis. The test result has shown thai the performances of the candidates are better or not worse than that of the current spacer grid.

  • Generally, the life of casting mold is limited by fatigue fracture or dimensional inaccuracy originated from wear in high temperature. Although recent research of metallic materials in high temperature fatigue have been much accomplished, many studies on brittle material as a die steel in high temperature fatigue does not have been reported. Especially, the study on the fatigue behavior over the transformation temperature is not studied sufficiently because of its difficult analysis and experiment. Therefore, reliable results of brittle material in high temperature fatigue behavior are needed. In this paper, stress-strain curves and stress-life curves in die STD61 steel are carefully examined between room temperature and 90$0^{\circ}C$, as the basic experimental data are used to predict from fatigue life of casting mold.

카본블랙의 형태 특성이 천연고무 배합 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Carbon Black Morphology and Loading Level on the Physical Properties of Natural Rubber Compound)

  • Natural rubber was filled with 8 commercial carbon blacks covering range of rubber-grade products at different levels of filler loadings in order to investigate physical compound and vulcanizate properties. It was found that the curves of rubber property vs filler loading of both uncured compounds and vulcanizates can be superposed to one single master curve by introducing an effective volume fraction which is based on CDBP. The effective volume fraction, $V_{EFF}$ was utilized to explain the variation of the stiffness of all rubber compounds. The surface area-corrected effective volume fraction, V', was utilized to explain the formation of bound rubber, rebound and lambourn wear.

세라믹 입자를 이용한 자기연마가공 기술 사례 (Magnetic Abrasive Polishing Technology with Ceramic Particles)

  • Ceramic particles as polishing abrasives are often used in a magnetic abrasive polishing process because they have strong wear resistance. Non-ferromagnetic ceramic abrasives should be mixed with ferromagnetic iron particles for controlling the mixture within a magnetic brush during the polishing process. This study describes the application of the ceramic particles for the magnetic abrasive polishing. The distribution of the magnetic abrasives attached on a tool varies with magnetic flux density and tool rotational speed. From the correlation between abrasive adhesion ratio in the tool and surface roughness produced on a workpiece, practical polishing conditions can be determined. A step-over for polishing a large sized workpiece is able to be selected by a S curve, and an ultrasonic vibration assisted MAP produces a better surface roughness and increases a polishing efficiency.

  • This paper suggests the establishment of high-accuracy and high-efficiency machining method of scroll shape workpiece by using the feed control method. The cutting paths for machining the inside and outside surfaces of the scroll-shape workpiece are calculated, and the calculation method of the cutting chip areas based on the coordinate of the base circle is shown. A feed control method is proposed for a constant cutting area and cutting force. By machining test of scroll shape workpiece, The machined accuracy of wrap, tool wear, and surface roughness are evaluated. By this method, Reduction of the machining time and large increase of the efficiency can be expected.

계장화압입시험법을 이용한 비압흔관찰 브리넬 경도 평가 (Determination of Brinell Hardness through Instrumented Indentation Test without Observation of Residual Indent)

  • Hardness test is performed for determination of the other properties, such as strength, wear resistance and deformation resistance, as well as hardness itself. And it is performed for prediction of residual lifetime by analysis of hardness reduction or hardness ratio. However, hardness test has limitation that observation of residual indent is needed for determination of hardness value, and that is the reason for not to be widely used in industrial field. Therefore, in this study, we performed researches to obtain Brinell hardness value from quantitative numerical formula by analysing relationship between indentation depths from indentation load-depth curve and mechanical properties such as work hardening exponent, yield strength and elastic modulus.
