층류-파동 액막 유동에 대한 계면 전단응력의 영향 (Effects of interfacial shear stress on laminar-wavy film flow)

  • In the present study the behavior of laminar-wavy film flowing down a vertical plate was studied analytically. The effects of film Reynolds number and interfacial shear stress on the mean film thickness, wave amplitude, wave length, and wave celerity were analysed. The anayltical results on the periodic-wave falling film showed good agreements with experimental data for Re < 100. As the film Reynolds number increased, mean film thickness, wave amplitude, and wave celerity increased, but wave length decreased. Depending on the direction of interfacial shear stress, the shape of wavy interface was disturbed significantly, especially for the intermediate-wave. As the interfacial shear stress increased, for the periodic-wave film, wave amplitude and wave celerity increased, but mean film thickness and wave length decreased.

  • A twisted cylinder has been newly designed by rotating the elliptic cross section along the spanwise direction in order to reduce the drag and vorticies in wake region. The flow around the twisted cylinder at a subcritical Reynolds number (Re) of 3000 is investigated to analyze the effect of twisted spiral pattern on the drag reduction and vortex suppression using large eddy simulation (LES). The instantaneous wake structures of the twisted cylinder are compared with those of a circular and a wavy cylinder at the same Re. The shear layer of the twisted cylinder covering the recirculation region is more elongated than that of the circular and the wavy cylinder. Successively, vortex shedding of the twisted cylinder is considerably suppressed, compared with those of the circular and the wavy cylinder. Consequently, the mean drag coefficient and the fluctuating lift of the twisted cylinder are less than those of the circular and the wavy cylinder.

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원 충돌분류에 있어서 전열면상에 비교적 큰 스케일을 가진 트랜스버스 리브(transverserib)형의 피형돌기를 만들고 충돌영역을 포함하여 통상열전달율이 현저하게 낮아지는 하류역까지의 넓은 영역에 걸쳐 전달회진을 목적 으로 전달특성을 실험적으로 조사하고 전보에서 다룬 거형의 트랜스버스 리브를 갖는 전열면에서의 결과와 비교 검토하였다. 한편 돌기면상의 유동형태의 상세를 smoke wire법에 의해 충돌분류 특유의 종과류와 그 신장에 대하여 조사하고 표면부유법 (surface floating method)에 의해 비교적 큰 스케일의 돌기에 따른 흐름의 박이 및 재부착에 관해서 조사하여 이들과 전열기구와의 관계를 정성적으로 검토하였다.

막응축 열전달에서 공기-수증기 혼합기체의 속도 및 온도분포 (Velocity and Temperature Profiles of Steam-Air Mixture on the Film Condensation)

  • A study has been conducted to provide the experimental information for the velocity and temperature profiles of steam-air mixutre and to investigate their roles on the film condensation with wavy interface. Saturated gas mixture of steam-air was made to flow through the nearly horizontal$(4.1^{\circ})$ square duct of 0.1m width and 1.56m length at atmospheric pressure, and was condensated on the bottom cold plate. The air mass fraction in the gas mixture was changed from zero(W =0, pure steam) to one(W =1, pure air), and the bulk velocity was varied from 2 to 4 m/s. Water film was injected concurrently to investigate the effect of wavy interface on the condensation. The velocity and temperature profiles were measured by LDA system and thermocouples along the three parameters ; air mass fraction, mixture velocity and film flow rate. The profiles moved toward the interface with increasing steam mass fraction, mixture velocity and film flow rate. The Prandtl and Schmidt numbers were near one in the present experimental range, however there was no complete similarity between the velocity and temperature profiles of gas mixture. And the heat transfer characteristics and interfacial structure were coupled with each other.

흡수성능에 미치는 수직 액막 파동의 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Wavy Flow of Vertical Falling Film on the Absorption Performance)

  • In the present study, the improvement of absorption characteristics on combined heat and mass transfer process in a falling film of a vertical absorber by change of geometric parameters were studied experimentally and analytically. The energy and diffusion equations are solved simultaneously to give the temperature and concentration variations at the liquid solution-refrigerant vapor interface and at the wall. Absorption behaviors of heat and mass transfer were analyzed through falling film of the LiBr aqueous solution contacted by refrigerant vapor in the absorber. Effects of film Reynolds number, geometric parameters by insert device (spring) and flow pattern on heat and mass transfer performances have been also investigated. Especially, effects of the flow pattern by geometric parameters have been considered to observe the total heat and mass transfer rates through falling film along the absorber. As a numerical and experimental result, maximum absorption rate was shown at the wave-flow by insert device (spring). The error ranges between experiment and analysis were from 5.8 to 12% at Re$_{f}$ > 100.0.

  • 파형벽면이 존재하는 채널유동에 대한 난류열전달이 난류모델에 의해서 조사되었다. Park et at.[1]의 비선형 k- f - f$_{모델이 수정되었고, 외재적인 비선형 열유속모델이 사용되었다 선택된 레이놀즈수는 Re$_{b}$ =6760이고 형상변화 (0 $\leq$ $\alpha$/$\lambda$$\leq$0.15 and 0.25 $\leq$A/H$\leq$4.0.)에 따른 열전달을 조사하였다. 모델의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 큰에디모사법이 선택된 경우에 수행되었다. 큰에디모사법의 결과와 비교할 때 모델성능은 일반적인 경향을 잘 예측하였다. 비선형 k- $\varepsilon$ - f$_{모델을 이용하여 파형벽면에 의한 열전달의 증가 특징과 형상의 영향이 조사되었다.

2차원 파형 채널의 형상변화에 따른 열유동 특성 (Thermo-Hydraulic Characteristics of Two-Dimensional Wavy Channels with Different Shape Parameters)

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원 파형 채널의 여러 형상($0.5{\leq}{\in}{\leq}1.5$, $0.1{\leq}{\gamma}{\leq}0.4$)에 대한 층류 열유동 수치해석을 수행하고, 형상변화에 따른 열유동특성을 비교 분석하였다. 전자장비 냉각용으로 적용되고 있는 PAO(Polyalphaolefin)를 작동유체로 고려하였고, 균일한 물성치와 주기적으로 발달한 유동 및 채널벽면에서의 등온 조건을 가정하였다. 층류유량조건($1{\leq}Re{\leq}1000$)에서 레이놀즈수에 따른 유선 및 온도 분포, 등온 Fanning 마찰계수, Colburn 계수를 제시하였고, 분석 결과 낮은 레이놀즈(Re<50) 구간에서는 채널주름비가 크고 채널간격비가 작을수록, 높은 레이놀즈($Re{\geq}50$) 구간에서는 채널주름비와 채널간격비가 모두 클수록 열전달이 향상되었다.

파형 습식클러치의 드래그 토크 저감을 위한 파형내 유로 위치 설정 설계 연구 (A Study on the Flow Path Position Design of Waviness Friction Pad for Drag Torque Reduction in Wet Type DCT)

  • Drag torque reduction in a wet clutch pack is a key aspect of the design process of the dual clutch transmission (DCT) system. In order to reduce the drag torque caused by lubricant shear resistance, recently developed wet clutch pack systems of DCT, as well as automatic transmission and other four-wheel drive (4WD) couplings, frequently utilize wavy wet clutch pads. Therefore, wavy shape of friction pad are made on the groove patterns like waffle pattern for the reduction of drag torque. Additionally, the groove patterns are designed with larger channels at several locations on the friction pad to facilitate faster outflow of lubricant. However, channel performance is a function of the waviness of the friction pad at the location of the particular channel. This is because the discharge sectional area varies according to the waviness amplitude at the location of the particular channel. The higher location of the additional channel on the friction pad results in a larger cross-sectional area, which allows for a larger flow discharge rate. This results in reduction of the drag torque caused by the shear resistance of DCTF, because of marginal volume fraction of fluid (VOF) in the space between the friction pad and separator. This study computes the VOF in the space between the friction pad and separator, the hydrodynamic pressure developed, and the shear resistance of friction torque, by using CFD software (FLUENT). In addition, the study investigates the dependence of these parameters on the location and waviness amplitude of the channel pattern on the friction pad. The paper presents design guidelines on the proper location of high waviness amplitude on wavy friction pads.
