성층권 비행선 기낭 막재료에 대한 비선형 거동 연구 (Non-Linear Behavior Analysis for Stratospheric Airship Envelope)

  • 본 논문에서는 평직구조를 갖는 성층권 비행선 기낭의 하중막재에 대한 비선형 유한요소 해석 결과를 기술하였다. 평직구조를 갖는 하중막재의 미세구조를 3차원적으로 구현하였고, Updated Lagrangian 방법을 사용하여 기하학적 비선형성을 고려하였다 계산결과, 큰 변형률에서 비선형해석으로부터 얻은 응력-변형률 곡선은 선형해석의 결과와 큰 차이를 보였다. 또한 응력-변형률 곡선으로부터 얻은 비선형 탄성계수 값은 선형 탄성계수보다 큰 값을 보였는데 그 차이는 섬유의 굴곡도가 작은 경우 더욱 두드러지게 나타났다

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소/페놀릭 8-매 주자직 복합재료인 ACP302의 등가열전도계수를 단위구조해석을 통하여 계산하였고 또한 실험적으로 측정하였다. 먼저 8-매 주자직 복합재료의 직조섬유다발구조를 3차원 유한요소를 사용하여 미세역학적으로 상세히 모델링하였으며, 단위구조 경계면에는 주기경계조건을 가하고 해석을 수행하였다. 계산결과로부터 적층 형상 및 굴곡도, 섬유 체적비 등이 등가열전도도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 또한 실험을 수행하여 열전도도를 계측하였으며 그 결과를 계산결과와 비교하였다.

  • Three-dimensional characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer around a wavy circular cylinder having sinusoidal variation in cross sectional area along the spanwise direction are numerically investigated using the immersed boundary method. The three different wavelengths of ${\pi}/4$, ${\pi}/3$ and ${\pi}/2$ and at the fixed wavy amplitude of 0.1 have been considered to investigate the effects of waviness on especially the forced convection heat transfer around a wavy cylinder when the Reynolds and Prandtl numbers are 300 and 0.71, respectively. The present computational results for a wavy cylinder are compared with those for a smooth cylinder. The time- and total surface-averaged Nusselt number for a wavy cylinder with is larger than that for a smooth cylinder, whereas that with ${\lambda}={\pi}/4$ and ${\pi}/3$ is smaller than that for a smooth cylinder. However, because the surface area exposed to heat transfer for a wavy cylinder is larger than that for a smooth cylinder, the total heat transfer rate for a wavy cylinder with different wavelengths of ${\lambda}={\pi}/4$, ${\pi}/3$ and ${\pi}/2$ is larger than that for a smooth cylinder.

두꺼운 일방향 탄소섬유-에폭시 적층판의 정적 압축 강도 연구 (Static Compressive Strength of Thick Unidirectional Carbon Fiber - Epoxy Laminate)

  • Existing test methods for thick-section specimens ( 4mm) have not provided precise compressive properties to date for the analysis and design of thick structure. A survey of the failure behaviour of such thick specimens revealed that the failure initiated at the top corner of the specimen and propagated down and across the width of the specimen as premature failure, not typically reported for thin compression specimens. In the current study, the premature failure was successfully avoided during compressive testing and the failure mode was quite similar regardless of increasing specimen thickness and specimen volume. Failure mode was similar regardless of increasing specimen thickness and specimen volume, i.e. brooming failure mode combined with longitudinal splitting, interlaminar cracking, fibre breakage and kinkband formation (fibre microbuckling). Nevertheless, average failure strengths of the specimens decreased with increasing specimen thicnkiness from 2mm to 8mm with the T800/924C system (36% strength reduction) and specimen volumes from scaling factor I to scaling factor 4 with the IM7/8552 system (46% strength reduction). It was revealed from the literature$^{11}$ that the thickness effect and scaling effect arc caused by manufacturing defects such as void content and fibre waviness.

원통가공시 가공형상 모델링의 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Machined Profile Modeling in Cylindrical Shape Machining)

  • In this paper we have discussed on the characteristics and modeling of machined geometry which was established for the case of round shape machining also the effects of externally machined profile are analyzed and its modeling realia-bility was verified by the experiments of roundness testing especially in lathe operation. In this study we established a harmonic geometric model with the parameter harmonic function. In general we can calculate the theoretical roundness profile with an arbitrary multilobe parameter. But in real experiments only 2-5 lobe profile was frequently measured, The most frequently measured ones are 3 and 5 lobe profile in experiments. With these results we can predict that these results may be applied to round shape machining such as turning drilling boring ball screw and cylindrical grinding operation in bearing and shaft making operation with the same method. in this study simulation and experimental work were performed to show the profile behaviors. we can apply these new modeling methods in real process for the predic-tion of part profile behaviors machined such as in round shape machining operation.

  • In this paper, We have discussed on the modeling of machined outer geometry which was established for the case of round shape machining, also the effects of externally machined profile are analyzed and its modeling realiability was verified by the experiments of roundness testing, especially in lathe operation. 표면조도를 갖는 회전판 주위의 유동 (Flow Near a Rotating Disk with Surface Roughness)

  • It has been studied the flow near a rotating disk with surface topography. The system Ekman number is assumed very small, i.e., $E[{\equiv}\frac{\nu}{{\Omega}^{\ast}L^{\ast2}}]<<1$ in which $L^{\ast}$ denotes a disk radius, ${\nu}$ kinematic viscosity of the fluid and ${\Omega}^{\ast}$ angular velocity of the basic state. Disk surface has a sinusoidal topographic variation along radial coordinate, i.e., $z={\delta}cos(2{\pi}{\omega}r)$, where ${\delta}$ and ${\omega}$ are, respectively, nondimensional amplitude and wave number of the disk surface. Analytic solutions, being useful over the parametric ranges of ${\delta}{\sim}O$( $E^{1/2}$ ) and ${\omega}{\leq}O$ ( $E^{1/2}$ ), are secured in a series-function form of Fourier-Bessel type. An asymptotic behavior, when $E{\rightarrow}0$, is clarified as : for a disk with surface roughness, in contrast to the case of a flat disk, the azimuthal velocity increases in magnitude, together with the thickening boundary layer. The radial velocity, however, decreases in magnitude as the amplitude of surface waviness increases. Consequently, the overall Ekman pumping at the edge of the boundary layer remains unchanged, maintaining the constant value equal to that of the flat disk.

  • Recently, the development of aerospace and automobile industries brought new technological challenges, related to the growing complexity of products and new geometry models. High speed machining using 5-Axis milling machine is widely used for 3D sculptured surface parts. 5-axis milling of turbine blade generates the vibration, deflection and twisting caused from thin and cantilever shape. So, the surface roughness and the waviness of workpiece are not good. In this paper, The effects of cutter orientation and lead/tilt angle in 5-Axis high speed ball end-milling of turbine blade were investigated to improve the geometric accuracy and surface integrity. The experiments were performed at lead/tilt angle $15^{\circ}$ of workpiece with four cutter directions such as horizontal outward, horizontal inward, vertical outward, and vertical inward. Workpiece deflection, surface roughness and machined surface were measured with various cutter orientations such as cutting direction, and lead/tilt angle. The results show that when 5-axis machining of turbine blade, the best cutting strategy is horizontal inward direction with tilt angle. 회전 유니트의 회전정밀도 예측 기술 (Estimation of Rotational Motion Accuracy for Rotary Units)

  • The error motion of a machine tool spindle directly affects the surface errors of machined parts. Those are usually due to the imperfectness of bearings, stiffness of spindle, assembly errors, external force or unbalance of rotors. The error motions of the spindle have been needed to be decreased to desired goal of spindle's performance. The level of error motion is needed to be estimated during the design and assembly process of the spindle. In this paper, the estimation method for the five degree of freedom (5 D.O.F) error motions for rotary units such as a spindle and rotary table are suggested. To estimate the error motions of the rotary unit, waviness of bearings and external force model were used as input data. The estimation model considers geometric relationship and force equilibrium of the five degree of the freedom motions.

  • It is known that ball bearings mounted in housing or on shaft are playing a key role to keep it running smoothly. The roundness of a housing bore on which bearing outer ring is mounted with interference has directly affected the running accuracy of bearing. The running accuracy of bearing, therefore, can extend the significant influence to the rotating machinery as well. In this paper, bearing's vibration and fatigue life considering raceway roundness of ball bearing before and after mounted in housing bore are theoretically estimated. To perform analysis, a simple three degrees of freedom model was proposed and then Newton-Raphson iterative method was introduced to be utilized in the analysis. The results show that the vibration magnitude of ball bearing fitted into housing unit is appeared considerably larger than the one of its pre-assembling. And theoretical $L_{10}$ life which ninety percent of the bearing population will endure decreased in about fifty percent.
