Anti-inflammatory Effect of Arbitrary Waveform Generator Treatment in Rats

  • Inflammation is the complex biological response of injured tissues to harmful stimuli. A cascade of biochemical events propagates and matures the inflammatory response, involving the local vascular system, the immune system, and various cells within the injured tissue. The immune system is often involved with inflammatory disorders, demonstrated in both allergic reactions and some myopathies, with many immune system disorders resulting in abnormal inflammation. An Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) is a piece of electronic test equipment used to generate electrical waveforms for the treatment of patients. The patients with gastritis and arthritis have been known to have a relatively favorable prognosis with AWG treatment. Accordingly, we examined the effects of AWG treatment in gastritis and arthritis animal model. The compound 48/80 was used to induce animal gastritis model. The tissue malone dialdehyde (MDA) and serum histamine levels, and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in stomach tissue were measured. The tissue MDA and serum histamine levels in AWG treated groups exhibited the decreased tendency compared with control group, whereas the tissue SOD activity was slightly increased. The Freund's complete adjuvant was used to induce animal arthritis model as well. The paw edema volume and the width of ankle joint were determined. The AWG treatment significantly decreased the paw edema volume after 5th day of treatment. Although further studies should be performed to confirm the effects of AWG treatment, present study suggest that AWG treatment might be used as a complementary treatment for the gastritis or arthritis treatment.

  • The shorted-turn sensor for generator's field winding has been developed. The sensor, installed in the generator air-gap, senses the slot leakage flux of field winding and produces a voltage waveform proportional to the rate of change of the flux. For identification of reliability for sensor, a shorted-turn test was performed at the Seoinchon & Sininchon combined cycle power plant on gas turbine generator. This sensor will be used as a detecting of shorted-turn for generator's field winding.

  • This paper propose a development of surface permanent mount synchronous generator(SPMSG) for 5-phase 5Kw in order to study a polyphase ac machinery that keep hold of advantages more than traditional three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor, such as reducing a amplitude of torque pulsation decreasing electric noises, and increasing the reliability. Design methods of the generator use a development tools with Maxwell 2D and Simplorer. There are designed drawing of manufactured frames of the SPMSG. A amplitude and waveform of the generated electromotive force, FFT analysis of harmonics within output voltages, and reviewing a experiment results are shown by variable output frequency. We are presenting a design and manufacture methods for the SPMSG.

  • This paper is to propse a new self-excitation method of synchronous generator. Instead of conventional exciter of synchronous generator, the additional winding which is arranged in addition to the armature winding, is used in this generator. The output terminal of the additional winding is connected to a capacitor and to a full wave rectifier in series. In this configuration, one source double excitation which is composed of capacitor-self-excitation by lead urrent and direct current excitation by rectifier, is induced. The result is that` The excetation efficency is improved greatly and output waveform is improved also. In three-phase synchronous generator using the new method of the one source double excitation, voltage element (shunt characteristics) and current element (series characteristics)are compounded in scalar by adapting star-point-open-rectifier system. The result is as following` The effect of load power factor angle on voltage regulation is reduced greatly, compound characteristics is become manifold by controlling capacity of capacitor, and transient response is improved.

  • This paper presents the self-matched line pulse generator and the concerned principles on its operation and characteristics are mentioned. The circuit consists of a charged transmission line and a high speed switch, and it generates a square wave pulse with the very fast rise time. The generated waveform depends on the load resistance. As the load resistance is infinite, a single rectangular wave pulse is generated and its efficiency is nearly unity.

  • This paper presents a axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator(AFPMSG), which is suitable for both vertical-axis and horizontal-axis wind turbine generation system. The design and construction features of the AFPMSG are reviewed. The characteristic analysis is performed such as cogging torque and e.m.f waveform, with the aid of a 3D finite element method. The experimental results confirm the characteristic analysis developed.

  • This paper shows the characteristic of wave tail according to inductance values in 10/$350{\mu}s$ impulse circuit with crowbar switch. The PSpice was used to simulate the 10/$350{\mu}s$ current waveform and lightning current impulse generator was used to generate real current waveform. As a capacitor of condenser bank increases, a virtual front time increases and a time to half-value decreases. To get a perfect 10/$350{\mu}s$ current waveform, we should consider the combination of circuit values of the inductance, capacitance, time difference between trigger pulses and charged voltage of capacitor bank.

  • This paper deals with the dynamic property of ground overvoltage relay in large turbine generator. Relay operation is based on detecting the fundamental voltages originating from the generator. Calculations of fault voltage and current are reviewed for the neutral ground resistance. The frequency, ampitude and waveform of individual harmonics were measured using power quality analyzer and memory hi-corder at the secondary side of ground potential transformer. The ac and dc high-potential tests were applied to evaluate the condition of generator, main and auxiliary transformer, isolated phase bus, potential transformer, surge capacitor and arrester.
