Poly (styrene-maleic anhydride)로 가교된 Poly (vinyl alcohol)막을 이용한 물/에탄올 수용액의 투과증발: 분리거동에 관한 연구 (Pervaporation of Water/ethanol Mixtures Using PVA Membranes Crosslinked with Poly (styrene-maleic anhydride): Study on the Separation Behavior)

  • 스티렌-무수말레인산 공중합체로 가교된 PVA막을 용액법으로 제조하였다. 투과증발공정에서 가교된 PVA/ PSMAn막에 대한 분리거동을 연구하기 위해 30~90 wt % 에탄올-물 혼합 조성에서 막에 대한 팽윤 및 수착 실험을 막내부로 수착되는 용액의 양과 조성을 측정할 수 있는 장치를 이용하여 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 제조된 막의 경우, 수착과 투과단계에서 물에 대해 좋은 선택성을 나타냈고, 공급액의 농도 50 wt % 이상에서 막의 투과선택도는 가교제의 함량에 따른 팽윤비 변화보다 수착선택도와 보다 많은 상관 관계를 나타내었다. 이러한 거동을 투과 선택도와 수착선택도과 관련된 용해-확산 모델로 고찰한 결과, 투과선택도는 막 내에서의 확산단계에서 보다 오히려 수착단계에서 결정됨을 결론지을 수 있다.

퀘르세틴의 가용화 , 퀘르세틴 및 루틴의 토끼 십이지장 점막 투과성 (Solubilization of Quercetin , and Permeability Study of Quercetin and Rutin to Rabbit Duodenal Mucosa)

  • To increase the solubility of quercetin, which is a practically insoluble flavonoid of Ginkgo biloba leaf, the effects of nonaqueous vehicles. Their cosolvents, water-sol uble polymers and modified cyclodextrins (CDs) were observed. Polyethylene glycols, diethyleneglycol monoethyl ether, and their cosolvents with water showed a good solvency toward quercetin. Also the aqueous solutions of povidone, copolyvidone and Cremophor RH 40 was effective in solubilizing quercetin. Complex formation of quercetin with ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin (${\beta}$-CD), dimethyl-${\beta}$-cyclodextiin (DMCD), 2-hydroxypropyl-${\beta}$-cyclodextrin (HPCD) and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin sulfobutyl ether (SBCD) in water was investigated by solubility method at $37^{\circ}C$. The addition of CDs in water markedly increased the solubility of quercetin with increasing the concentration. AL type phase solubility diagrams were obtained with CDs studied. Solubilizaton efficiency by CDs was in the order of SBCD >> DMCD > HPCD > ${\beta}$-CD. The dissolution rates of quercetin from solid dispersions with copolyvidone, povidone and HPCD were much faster than those of drug alone and corresponding physical mixtures, and exceeded the equilibrium solubility (3.03${\pm}1.72{\mu}$g/ml). The permeation of quercetin through duodenal mucosa did not occur even in the presence of enhancers such as bile salts, but the permeation was observed when the mucus layer was scraped off. This was due to the fact that quercetin had a strong binding to mucin ($58.5{\mu}$g/mg mucin). However rutin was permeable to the duodenal mucosa. The addition of enhancer significantly increased the permeation of rutin in the order of sodium glycocholate.

  • Ultrafiltration membranes base on copoly(amide-imide) derivatives were prepared by the phase inversion method and the factors determining the permeation characteristics of membrane were investigated. The permeation behavior was observed by the relative ratio of permeate flux (J$\_$t/)/pure water flux (J$\_$o/). The characteristics through membrane were measured using aqueous solution of poly(ethyleneglycol) (MW 2.0$\times$10$\^$4/) over a temperature range of 10∼90$\^{C}$. With increasing the operating temperature, the relative ratio of flux became high. All the membranes had good chemical stability. Copoly(amide-imide) membranes having various Permeation properties could be obtained. Further, it was proved that the membrane performances could be determined from the preparation conditions as well as various operating conditions.

  • 분리막 투과증발은 증류에 비하여 낮은 에너지를 요구하기 때문에 물/유기물 혼합물의 분리에 이용될 수 있으며 공비 혼합물이나 이성질체의 분리에 선호되는 방법이다. 제올라이트 분리막은 고분자 분리막에 비하여 열적, 기계적, 화학적 안정성이 우수하며 NaA 제올라이트 분리막은 큰 친수성을 나타내므로 물/유기물 혼합물로부터 효율적인 물 분리에 적합하다. 본 연구에서는 NaA 제올라이트 분리막을 이용한 투과증발 막분리 공정을 이용하여 물/에탄올 혼합물에서 선택적으로 물을 분리하고자 하였다. 에탄올의 공급 농도가 증가함에 따라 총투과플럭스는 감소하였으며 선택도는 증가한 후 높은 에탄올 농도에서 감소하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 실험 온도의 증가에 따라 총투과플럭스는 증가하였으며 선택도 또한 증가하였지만 높은 에탄올 농도에서는 감소하였다. 160시간 이상의 장기간 실험을 통하여 총투과플럭스와 선택도가 안정적으로 일정함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 본 연구를 통하여 얻어진 NaA 제올라이트 분리막은 증류 및 PVA 계열 고분자 분리막보다 우수한 성능을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.

  • 원자층 증착법(ALD: atomic layer deposition)을 이용하여 PES (poly (ether sulfon)) 기판위에 증착 온도, 플라즈마 파워에 따라 $Al_2O_3$$TiO_2$ 박막을 증착했다. 공정 조건에 따라 $Al_2O_3$$TiO_2$ 박막의 밀도, 탄소의 함유량이 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 공정 조건을 변화시켜 고밀도의 박막을 얻을 수 있었다. 플라즈마에 의한 PES 기판 손상을 막기 위해 buffer layer를 도입했으며, 또한 박막 내부 결함에 의한 수분 투과를 지연 또는 막기 위해 다층 구조를 증착했다. 이를 분석하기 위해 MOCON test를 이용해 투습률을 조사하였다. 플라스틱 기판에 다층 구조의 무기물 보호막을 적용했을 시 플라스틱 기판의 투습률 특성이 개선되었으며, 수분 투과에 대한 activation energy 또한 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Preparation of Composite Membranes of Dense PAA-Poly(BMA-co-MMA) IPN Supported on Porous and Crosslinked Poly(BMA-co-MMA) Sublayer and Their Pervaporation Characteristics

  • For the pervaporation of water-ethanol mixtures, new composite membranes having poly(acrylic acid)-poly (butyl methacrylate-co-methyl methacrylate) interpenetrati ng polymer network [PAA-P(BMA-co-MMA) IPN] skin layer supported on porous and crosslinked poly(BMA-co-MMA) were prepared. The morphology of the sub-layer of the composite membrane prepared in the presence of 60 wt% solvent showed cellular structure, on the other hand that of sublayer prepared in the presence of 70 wt% solvent presented very porous interconnected pore structure with macrovoids. Permeation rates of the composite membranes were largely influenced by the morphology of the sublayer. Separation factors increased with the increase of the degree of crosslinking of the PAA network. It was found that permeation rates could be increased by introducing anionic charges on carboxyl groups of the PAA. The permeation rate changes of the PAA-P(BMA-co-MMA) IPN composite membranes according to the feed compositions showed quite similar pattern with the swelling behavior in water-ethanol mixtures.

여과-투과에 대한 실험적 분석: 여과매체의 종류, 여과매체의 매수, 여과압력의 영향 (Experimental Analysis on Filtration-Permeation: Influence of the Type and Sheets of Filter Media, and Filtration Pressure)

  • 케이크 여과와 고액분리에서 가장 중요한 지표인 케이크 평균 비저항을 결정하는 방법으로 여과실험을 사용하고 있으나 침전 등의 영향으로 정확한 값을 측정하기 어렵다. 이 연구에서는 조금 더 안정된 방법으로 여과 후 형성된 케이크에 입자제거수를 투과시켜 평균 비저항을 측정하는 여과-투과 실험을 제안한다. 탄산칼슘 1 wt% 현탁액을 사용하여 여과-투과 실험을 8종의 여과매체에 대하여 여과매체 1장과 3장, 압력 0.5 기압과 0.2 기압의 조건에서 각 조건 당 3~5회씩 동일한 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 여과 후 투과에서도 안정된 투과 속도가 측정됨을 확인하였고, 이를 바탕으로 Ruth의 공식을 분석하여 투과기간의 특징을 구명(究明) 하고 여과기간에 발생하는 침전의 영향을 분석하였다. 그 다음, 여과매체 3종을 선택하여 여과와 투과에서의 케이크 평균 비저항값으로 일원배치법에 의한 분석을 하였다. 분석결과 여과에 의해서는 0.5 기압과 0.2 기압의 케이크 평균 비저항값이 구분되지 않으나, 투과에 의해서는 충분히 구분되었다. 또한 투과기간의 케이크 평균 비저항값들이 여과기간의 그것에 비해 매우 좁은 분포를 가지는 것을 확인했다. 여러 여과매체의 여과 실험결과를 분석하여, 여과매체 저항을 현재의 방법으로 측정하는 것은 큰 의미가 없음을 밝혔고, 유리섬유 여과-투과 실험 결과로 낮은 압력에서 입자의 여과매체 이동 가능성에 대한 분석을 수행했다.

경피흡수를 위한 케토롤락 하이드로겔의 제제설계 및 평가 (Formulation Design and Evaluation of Ketorolac Tromethamine Hydrogel for Transdermal Delivery System)

  • Ketorolac tromethamine(KT) is a nonsteroidal agent with potent analgesic and moderate anti-inflammatory activity. The lipid-water partition coefficient of KT was evaluated and KT gel was formulated as a gel containing different pH, different concentrations of polymer (poloxamer 407, carbopol 941), propylene glycol, ethanol and various enhancers. The resulting KT gels were evaluated with respect to their viscosity, in vitro drug permeation rate through hairless mouse skin and stability. In n-octanol and chloroform, the lipid-water partition coefficient of KT was the highest at pH 4 phosphate buffer. The apparent viscosity of KT gel increased with an increase in gel pH, polymer and enhancer concentration. But the apparent viscosity of KT gel decreased with an increase in ethanol concentration. The permeation rate of KT through hairless mouse skin from gels different pH was maximum at pH 4 which is close to KT $pK_{a}$ 3.54. The permeation rate decreased with an increase in polymer, propylene glycol concentration. But the permeation rate increased with an increase in ethanol. The increase of drug concentration from 1 to 3% induced linear increase in permeation rate. The best enhancer was the combination of $Labrasol^{\circledR},\;Transcutol^{\circledR}$, oleic acid and l-menthol. In the accelerated stability test(25, 40 and $50{\circ}C$), pH 5 gel was most stable and pH 4 gel was most unstable for 90 days.

해충제어프로그램에서 사용되는 PVC장갑의 평가방법 개발 (A Development on Assessment Method of PVC Gloves Used in Pest Control Program)

  • Following a Mediterranean fruit fly outbreak in South Australia, a bait spray program involving the pesticides like malathion(MAL) was carried out. During the application, dermal exposure was considered for the pest controllers wearing PVC gloves. However there is a lack of information about PVC glove performance like break through times and permeation rates with MAL, therefore, a new analytical method for HPLC-UV was developed. A standard permeation test cell was used in this study. From the results of this study, more than 96% solubility of MAL was provided at 30% isopropyl alcohol in distilled water as a collecting media. However, there was significant decomposition of MAL when the solutions were kept at over $50^{\circ}C$ for 2-3 hours. As a mobile phase, 50% acetonitrile water solution (pH 6.0) gave the greater sensitivity compared with other compositions of acetonitrile solution. The arm section of the gloves had shorter breakthrough times and higher permeation rates compared with the palm. There was no malathion solution breakthrough up to 24 hours using the 1% MAL working strength solution. When the temperature was changed from $22{\pm}1^{\circ}C\;to\;37{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, the breakthrough times were decreased by 14.5% on palm and 37.5% on arm, and permeation rates were increased significantly. The findings of this study indicate that further investigations on used gloves, periods of use and varying working conditions like tasks and seasons should be carried out to assess potential worst case scenarios.

Thermocontrol of Solute Permeation across Polymer Memberane Composed of Poly(N, N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) and Its Copolymers

  • Polymer membranes composed of N, N-dimethylaminoethyl methaccrylate(DMAEMA) and acrylamide(AAm)(or ethyl acrylamide(EAAm) were prepared to demonstrated the thermo-control of solute permeation. Poly DMEMA has a lower critical solution temperature(LCST) at around 50$\^{C}$ in water, With the copolymerization of DMAEMA with AAm (or EAAm) a shift in the LCST to a lowere temperature was observed, probably due to the formation of hydrogen bonds between the amide and N-N-dimethylamino groups. However, the temperature-induced phase transition of poly(DMAEMA-co-EAAm) did not show a similar trend to that of poly(DMAEMA- co-AAm) in the gel state. The hydrogen bonds in poly(DMAEMA-co-EAAm) were significantly disrupted with the formation a gel network, which led to a difference in the swilling behavior of polymer gels in response to temperature. To apply these polymers to temperature-sensitive sol-ute permeation, polymer membranes were prepared. The permeation pattern of hydrocortisone, used as the model solute, was explained based on the temperature-sensitive swelling behavior of the polymer membranes.
