  • At present, the low-voltage, high-current type power supply is mainly used for effective sterilization in the ballast water treatment system. Research on PSFB converters without output capacitors has been ongoing. Such converters effectively treat ballast water without a separate disinfectant through electric pulses by applying a pulse-type power to the output electrode without an output capacitor. However, in the case of the pulse-type electrolysis treatment method, voltage overshoot can occur due to abrupt voltage fluctuations when the load changes, resulting in circuit reliability problems because of the output capacitorless system. Therefore, a new voltage control algorithm is required. In this paper, we will discuss voltage control for pulsed electrolysis topology without an output capacitor. The proposed voltage control method has been verified using Simulation and experiment. The usefulness of the proposed control method has been proven by the experimental results.

A novel laboratory method for measuring the hydraulic conductivity of dredged slurry with high water contents

  • Accurately measuring the hydraulic conductivity of dredged slurry (HCODS) is a difficult task and usually requires highly developed experimental techniques. To resolve such problem, this paper presents a novel laboratory method, where a double drainage sedimentation test (DDST) is proposed to generate a downward seepage after the end of primary consolidation (EOP). Based on the established stress equilibrium equations, it is figured out that the determination of local hydraulic gradients requires the effective stress distribution to be measured. Accordingly, an additional single drainage sedimentation test (SDST) with the same initial water content is performed in the novel laboratory method, which can be utilized to establish the relationship between effective stress and water content for investigated slurry. Thus, HCODS can be determined via a pair of SDST and DDST, with the water contents after the EOP measured. The corresponding calculation procedure is given in details. With a simply-designed settling column, the hydraulic conductivity tests were performed on three types of dredged slurry. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the novel laboratory method in measuring HCODS.

Dynamic evolution characteristics of water inrush during tunneling through fault fracture zone

  • In this paper, a unified time-dependent constitutive model of Darcy flow and non-Darcy flow is proposed. The influencing factors of flow velocity are discussed, which demonstrates that permeability coefficient is the most significant factor. Based on this, the dynamic evolution characteristics of water inrush during tunneling through fault fracture zone is analyzed under the constant permeability coefficient condition (CPCC). It indicates that the curves of flow velocity and hydrostatic pressure can be divided into typical three stages: approximate high-velocity zone inside the fault fracture zone, velocity-rising zone near the tunnel excavation face and attenuation-low velocity zone in the tunnel. Furthermore, given the variation of permeability coefficient of the fault fracture zone with depth and time, the dynamic evolution of water flow in the fault fracture zone under the variable permeability coefficient condition (VPCC) is also studied. The results show that the time-related factor (α) affects the dynamic evolution distribution of flow velocity with time, the depth-related factor (A) is the key factor to the dynamic evolution of hydrostatic pressure.

수처리 지중구조물의 내진설계 기준 개선을 위한 지진 응답 제안식의 관한 연구 (A Study on the Seismic Response Formula for Improvement of Seismic Design Code of Water Treatment Underground Structures)

  • 수처리 지중구조물의 내진설계에서 내진설계 시보다 일반설계의 경우에 부재력 값이 더 크다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 이는 수처리 지중구조물의 종류 즉, 정수지 구조물, 침전지 구조물, 공동구 구조물에 따라서 다르다. 또한 최근 국내에서 발생한 지진의 규모를 보면 대형지진이 빈번하므로 설계지진력의 크기가 커질 때 수처리 지중구조물의 내진거동의 규명 및 대처방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 수처리 지중구조물의 종류별로 하중계수 즉, 설계지진가속도를 일정 비율로 증가시키면서 지중구조물의 지진응답을 분석하고 변화를 나타내는 식을 제안하여 향후 설계기준 개정시에 참조하도록 하였다. 해석은 등가 정적해석법과 응답 변위해석법을 적용하고, 지하수 유무, 토피고에 따라서 다양하게 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 식은 향후 수처리 지중구조물의 설계기준 개정시에 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

인천-영종 간 해상수송시스템 구축을 위한 경제적 타당성 분석 (A Feasibility Study on the Economic Aspect of Sea Transportation System between Inchon and Youngjong Island)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic aspect of sea transportation system between Inchon and Youngjong island in which Inchon international airport is being constructed. Total demand of sea transportation arising from in the airport and Yongyu Muwi leisure complex was estimated. To select optimum transportation route, environmental conditions in and around Inchon harbour and Youngjong island including the change of water depth by tide current, fog, rain, wind adn typhoon, ets., were investigated. The preliminary consideration on ships (size, velocity, transport capacity, price), routes, operational modes, terminals and berthing facilities were carried out. The transportation cost per passenger by sea transportation system was estimated to compare with that of land transportation system. It was found that sea transportation system proposed is competitive to the transportation system.

Combined effect of fine aggregate and silica fume on properties of Portland cement pervious concrete

  • Portland cement pervious concrete has been expected to have good water permeability, mechanical properties and abrasion resistance at the same time when Portland cement pervious concrete is applied to the actual vehicle pavement. In this study, the coarse aggregate and cement were replaced by the fine aggregate and the silica fume to improve actual road performance Portland cement pervious concrete. The Mechanical properties, the water permeability and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete were investigated. The results show that the compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance are increased when the fine aggregate and the silica fume are added to Portland cement pervious concrete separately. However, the porosity and the water permeability are decreased simultaneously. With assistance of silica fume and fine aggregate simultaneously, Portland cement pervious concrete could achieve a higher strength. The compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete mixed with 5% fine aggregates and 8% silica fume are increased by 93.1%, 65% and 65.2%, respectively. The porosity and the water permeability are decreased by 22.4% and 85% when Portland cement pervious concrete is mixed with 5% fine aggregate and 8% silica fume. Therefore, the replacement ratio of the fine aggregates and the silica fume should be considered comprehensively and determined on the premise of ensuring the water permeability coefficient.

통합 Fuzzy AHP-PROMETHEE법을 이용한 수상운송기업군의 경영성과 평가 (An Evaluation of Business Performance for Water Transportation Company Groups Using the Integrated Fuzzy AHP-PROMETHEE Method)

  • 최근 정부는 수상운송기업의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 지원정책을 추진하고 있다. 이러한 정책을 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 수상운송기업의 경영성과를 평가하고 정책의 모니터링이 필요하다. 이 연구는 통합 FUZZY AHP-PROMETHEE법을 이용하여 우리나라 수상운송기업의 경영성과를 평가하여 우선순위를 선정하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 수상운송기업을 7개의 대상그룹으로 구분하고, 경영성과 평가를 위한 평가항목을 추출한다. 두번째는 전문가 설문조사를 통해 Fuzzy AHP법을 이용하여 평가항목의 중요도를 산정한다. 마지막으로 평가항목의 중요도와 Fuzzy PROMETHEE II법을 결합하여 수상운송기업군의 전체 우선순위를 결정하고 Fuzzy PROMETHEE I법을 이용하여 기업군간의 우선순위를 분석한다. 따라서 제안된 모델에서는 성장성, 생산성, 수익성, 기술성 등 4개의 평가 항목이 추출되었다. 그 결과 기타해상운송업의 경영성과가 가장 높게 나타났고, 내륙수상여객및화물운송업의 경영성과가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 기타해상운송업은 성과를 지속하기 위해 생산성을 증대해야 하고, 내륙수상여객및화물운송업은 성과향상을 위해 모든 항목을 증대해야 할 것이다.

An initial study on ecological environment changes after emergent water transportation at lower reaches of Tarim River, China based on remote sensing technique

  • Tarim River is the longest continental river in China. Its downstream ecological environment declination and valley remedy got great concern. To improve ecological environment of lower Tarim River, “Emergent water transportation project for Tarim river valley remedy” was carried out from May 2000. Water was transported five times till May 2003. Several periods MODIS image was used to monitor water body in river channel. Two periods ETM image was used to interpreter changes of environment. Area of vegetation in 1999 was similar with 2001, but become better in total. The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and vegetative coverage reflected environment changed better.

산업연관분석을 이용한 우리나라의 연안 및 내륙수상운송 부문의 국민경제적 파급효과 분석에 관한 연구 (The Study on Economic Effects of the Coastal and Inland Water Transportation Sector upon the Korean Economy using Input-Output Analysis)

  • This paper uses input-output techniques to analyze the impacts of the coastal and inland water transportation (CIWT) upon the Korean economy between 1990 and 2000. The impacts were identified by means of backward and forward linkages effects, production inducing and import-inducing effects, and commodity prices repercussion effects of the coastal and inland water transportation. The data of this study come from The Bank of Korea databases for Input-Output Structure of the Korean economy. The major findings in this study can, among others, be summarized: that the power of dispersion(=backward linkage effect) and the degree of sensitivity (=forward linkage effect) of CIWT are higher than those of the deep sea transportation sector and that it has higher production-inducing effect than the average of total industries, while it has lower import-inducing effect than the average of total industries.

Technique of grouting in silty-fine sand with abundant water: Practice in Beijing

  • In NATM tunnels, water inrush and tunnel collapse are often encountered in silty-fine sand with abundant water during excavation. Because of the special engineering properties of this stratum, grouting effect is difficult to achieve as expected, and it is a major problem in the field of civil engineering. Taking Beijing Metro Line 10 as a case, we applied PFC3D to simulate the process of grouting in this stratum. By analyzing the law of grout diffusing and porosity change under different grouting pressures, the study found that grouting was a process of splitting, and grouting pressure played an important role. The numerical results were verified by theoretical calculation analysis, and the grouting parameters were determined under the various grouting pressures for practice. After the excavation of this tunnel, the concretions in silty-fine sand are similar to the results of PFC3D simulation, which indicates that the grouting mechanism is confirmed by field observation further.
