만경수역 해수 유통시 조석환경변화 고찰 (Tidal behavior changes in Mangyeong reservoir area with permitting sea-water intrusion through the sluice gate)

  • As one of the phil-environmental alternative plan of Saemankeum project, gradual development is recommended. The procedure of the Saemankeum project start with the completion of 32 km long sea-dikes which contains two discharge gates until the year 2004. Second step is pre-development of Mangyoung area permitting temporary intrusion of sea water, i.e. tides, by the opening of discharge gate until the environmental evaluation on the water quality of this area secures permanent meet to government's water quality standard. Therefore this study is to predict the future condition of this tidal flat with the point of view tidal environments, salt, water quality, soil mechanics, etc. of Mangyoung area when the sea water still passed in the inland reservoir through the discharge gate.

  • This paper is about the ocean current power generation using sea water incoming into the lake surrounded by barrages and sea water discharged from a dam made of artificial structures. In operation of a tidal power plant, the sea water discharged from a turbine structure and a gate structure of a tidal power plant is faster than the tidal current caused by tides in nature and has better characteristics than that to run ocean current turbines. It is shown that the sea water discharged after generating electricity through a turbine generator of a tidal power plant and the sea water discharged from a gate structure of a tidal dam still have kinetic energy high enough to run an ocean current turbine and produce valuable electricity.

모형실험에 의한 장지간 트러스형 리프트 게이트의 진동 특성 (Dynamic Characteristics of the Long Span Truss-Type Lift Gate by Model Test)

  • An experimental study of model truss-type vertical gate consisting of a truss and a plate was presented in this paper to examine the structural dynamics of the gates. A 1:61 scale model was constructed for the 95 m prototype gate using an acrylic truss and an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plate. The scaled model was tested in a 1.6 m wide concrete flume for two orientations to determine the effects of gate orientation on structural vibrations. Natural frequencies of the model gate was measured and calibrated with FEM predictions. Vertical vibrations were measured under various operational conditions, including a range of bottom opening heights and different upstream and downstream water levels. The gate model with reverse direction was preferred due to its low overall vibrational response and flow level combinations. The test results also provide a basic dataset for development of operations guidelines that minimize flow-induced vibrations of the gates.

새만금호 관리수위 유지를 위한 수문 운영방안모의 (Simulation of Gate Operations on Samangeum Reservoir to Maintain Target Water Level)

  • 해수 소통이 전제된 새만금호의 내부 관리수위를 유지하는 최적의 수문 운영안이 ADCIRC모형을 적용한 실험을 통해 검토되었다. 수문 완공 이후와 내부개발 이후로 사업진행을 구분하였고 평수시와 풍수시로 하천유량을 구분하여 모델링을 실시하였다. 수문 운영방안은 유입/배출이 연속적으로 1일 1회, 1일 2회 및 2일 1회 등에 대해 검토되었으나 모든 경우 하천 유입 유량에 의해 수위가 지속적으로 상승된다. 목표 관리수위 0.0m를 유지할 수 있는 현실적인 방안으로는 방조제 완공 직후에는 1일 2회의 유입/배출을 유지하면서 평수시에는 단속적으로 6일에 한번, 풍수시에는 3일에 한번 외해수의 유입을 억제시키면 최대편차 ${\pm}0.4m$ 이내에서 관리수위 유지가 가능한 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Middle Route Project, the largest water conveyance system in China delivers the water of Changjiang River to North China. In order to create canal operation simulation system, mathematical models are established based on the analysis of hydraulics about steady flow, unsteady flow, and check gate. By simulating the canal operation behavior, we improved the check gate control algorithm and predicted the change process of water surface and flow profile which is very valuable to actual canal operation.

  • One of the purpose of the reservoir operation is minimizing theinnudation area in the downstream reaches during flood period.l To execute the gate operation properly , it requires lots of real-time data such as rainfall, reservoir level, and water level in the downstrea. Gate operation model was developed with the flood discharge obtained from real-time flood forecasting model and the criterion prepared from the past history of gate operation. Water level in the downstream would be increased by the releasing discharge from the spillway and the area of paddy land flooded in a certain detph and time would be estimated usnig GIS map. Gate operation model was applied to the Yedang reservoir, and the flooded area, depth and time in the paddy land was estimaged.

DAM 수문의 최적설계에 관한 사찰 (A Study on the Optimal Design of the Gate Leaf of a Dam)

  • The design theory of roller gate has been systematized laying more emphasis on practical formulas than theoretical ones and the design procedure of the existing gate facilites is reviewed and analyaed on economical viewpoint and safety factor. The design theory of timoshenko, the thechnical standards for hydraulic gate and penstock of Japan, and the design standards for waterworks structures of Germany are applied to the study of optimal design of a gate leaf. In this study, gate leaf which is now being operated for water control at the seadike, estuary dam and reservoir dam are adopted as a mode, and a new design method by the computer is proposed through the variation of design elements within practical ranges. As a result, safety factor and economical design can be made by using T-beams to the horizontal and vertical beam of the gate leaf instead of H-beams used in the existing seadike roller gate at Asan, and total weight of gate leaf is reduced by the present optimization.

Sluice gate를 이용한 고립파 형상 발생조건에 관한 실험적 연구 (Laboratory experiment of conditions for solitary wave generated with sluice gate)

  • 연안지역에서 발생하는 퇴적 및 침식현상으로 발생하는 피해를 분석하기 위하여, 고립파를 이용한 연구가 계속 진행되어왔다. 고립파는 파고의 크기에 따라 파형이 결정되는 특징을 가지고 있어 연안지역 파랑에 관한 연구에 적합하다. 기존연구는 sluice gate를 순간적으로 개방하는 방식을 통해 갑작스러운 수위의 변화를 유도하여 급변부정류흐름을 발생시키는 연구를 수행하였으나, 고립파 발생 조건에 대한 상세한 분석은 수행하지 못하였다. 본 연구는 기존연구에서 사용한 방식과 동일하게 sluice gate를 개방하여 고립파를 발생시켰으며, 실험조건을 상류 headtank 수위와 하류 수심의 수위차를 이용하는 경우와 sluice gate 개방 속도에 따라 두 가지 경우로 나누어 실험을 수행하였다. 실험에 사용된 직사각형 수리실험수조는 폭 0.8 m, 높이 0.75 m, 수로길이 12 m에서 상 하류의 수위차를 0.05 m 단위로 높이는 방식과 수문개방속도를 0.5 m/s 부터 1.0 m/s까지 범위를 설정하여 두 가지 재현방식에 따라 실험을 진행하였다. 또한 Flow-3D GMO(General Moving Objects)기능을 활용한 수치모의를 수행하였다. 실험조건에 따른 수리실험 결과를 파랑의 특성인 고립파 파고와 파속을 수치모의결과와 비교하여 분석하였다. 수리실험결과와 수치해석결과 유사한 경향을 나타내었으며, 본 연구의 결과는 Sluice gate를 이용한 고립파 수리실험으로 경사면에서 발생하는 침식과 퇴적현상에 관한 기초적인 연구가 될 것이다.

  • The hydraulic cylinder is used for actuating a sluice gate which controls the volume of water in the reservoir. Generally, the one cylinder type is used to operate the sluice gate. In order to reduce the required cylinder force to operate the sluice gate significantly, the sequentially operated-hydraulic cylinders type is designed and the optimal locating points of cylinders are searched using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search method.

트러스형 리프트 게이트의 진동현상에 관한 모형실험 (Model Tests Study on Flow-induced Vibration of Truss Type Lift Gate)

  • A model test is carried out to investigate the vibration of truss type lift gate in the four major rivers project. The gate model scaled with the ratio of 1 : 25 is made of acryl panel dimensioned 1.6 m in width, 0.28 m in height in the concrete test flume. Firstly natural frequencies of the model gate are measured and the results are compared with the numerical results in order to verify the model. The amplitudes of the vibration are measured under the different gate opening and water level conditions. The results are analyzed to study the characteristics of the gate vibration according to the small gate opening, the large gate opening and the overflow conditions. These test results presents a basic data for the guide manuals of gate management and a design method to reduce the gate vibration of truss type lift gate. Finally, the vibration of truss type lift gate are assessed in comparison with those of formerly tainter gate.
