그린인프라시설의 탄소저감을 위한 SWMM-ING 개선 및 적용성 평가 (Improvement and application of SWMM-ING for carbon reduction in green infrastructure)

  • In Korea, as part of the Green New Deal project toward a carbon-neutral society, it is necessary to build a climate-resilient urban environment to green the city, space, and living infrastructure. To this end, SWMM-ING was improved and the model was modified to analyze the carbon reduction effect. In addition, I plan to select target watersheds where urbanization is rapidly progressing and evaluate runoff, non-point pollution, and carbon reduction effects to conduct cost estimation and optimal design review for domestic rainwater circulation green infrastructure. In this study, green infrastructure facilities were selected using SWMM-ING. Various scenarios were presented considering the surface area and annual cost of each green infrastructure facility, and The results show that the scenario derived through the APL2 method was selected as the optimal scenario. In this optimal scenario, a total facility area of 190,517.5 m2 was applied to 7 out of 30 subwatersheds to achieve the target reduction. The target reduction amount was calculated a 23.50 % reduction in runoff and a 26.99 % reduction in pollutant load. Additionally, the annual carbon absorption was analyzed and found to be 385,521 kg/year. I aim to achieve additional carbon reduction effects by achieving the goal of reducing runoff and non-point pollution sources and analyzing annual carbon absorption. Moreover, considering the scale-up of these interventions across the basin, it is believed that an objective assessment of economic viability can be conducted.

LID시설에 적용된 식물의 염분 저항성 및 효과 평가 (Assessment of Salt Resistance and Performances of LID Applicable Plants)

  • LID 시설에는 물순환 회복과 오염물질 저감을 위해 다양한 종류의 식물이 적용되고 있다. 그러나 겨울철 제설제 살포와 식물의 성장둔화로 인한 급격한 토양 함수량 변화는 식물의 고사 등 문제를 야기시킨다. 따라서 본 연구는 LID 시설에 적용 가능한 8가지 주요 식물을 선정하여 염분에 대한 저항성과 식물의 성장능력, 오염물질 저감능력 및 물순환 회복 등을 평가하기 위하여 수행되었다. 실험에 적용된 식물은 목본류인 조팝나무(S.P), 연산홍(R.I), 메타세콰이어(M.G)와 초본류인 창포(A.C), 하늘매발톱(A.F), 메리골드(T.L), 패랭이(D.C)와 애기별꽃(P.B)이 선정되었다. 식물의 성장은 조팝나무(S.P), 연산홍(R.I), 메타세콰이어(M.G)와 같은 목본류가 초본류에 비하여 성장률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 염분에 의한 내성은 목본류에서는 메타세콰이어(M.G)>조팝나무(S.P)>연산홍(R.I) 순으로 나타났으며, 초본류에서는 메리골드(T.L)=패랭이(D.C)>창포(A.C)>애기별꽃(P.B)>하늘매발톱(A.F) 순으로 조사되었다. 대부분의 식물에서 염분에 의한 영향과는 상관없이 TN과 TP 저감효율이 60% 이상으로 높게 나타났으며, 메타세콰이어(M.G)가 높은 성장에 기인한 활발한 광합성과 호흡의 영향으로 높은 오염물질 제거능력과 물순환 능력을 보였다.

  • 도시화와 산업화로 인하여 불투수면적이 증가함에 따라 강우유출에 의한 비점오염원이 수계에 미치는 영향이 커지고 있다. 과거에는 비점오염원을 관리하기위해 장치형 시설(BMP)이 많이 사용되었으나 최근 LID(Low Impact Development)기술을 통해 자연적으로 처리하는 기술이 많이 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자연형 시설 중 식생체류지에서의 강우 모니터링을 실시한 데이터를 토대로 SWMM 모델을 통해 다양한 강우사상을 모의하였다. LID 모델링 연구의 특징으로 실데이터가 자연시설을 통해 얻은 결과이기 때문에 단기간 데이터로는 정확한 모델링 자료를 구축하기 어려워 정확한 모델을 구현하기가 힘들다는 특징이 있는데, 본 연구에서는 3년간 모니터링한 데이터를 통해 정밀한 모델을 구축하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 총 18회 모니터링한 실데이터를 모의하였으며, 유입량과 유출량, 오염물질 5개항목의 제거효율을 모의하였다. 성능평가를 실시한 결과 7개 항목 대부분이 우수한 지표를 나타내었으며, 상대적으로 TN과 TP 항목이 모의성능이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 미래에는 우리나라도 상수도 시스템과 하수도 시스템이 실질적으로 통합되어 운영되는 통합물관리 시스템이 도입될 것으로 예상된다. 따라서, 본 연구결과는 미래형 통합물관리시스템에서 강우를 초기에 관리하는 단계에서 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 설치예상지역의 강우유출저감 및 오염물질 저감 정도를 사전에 예측할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 식생체류지의 과다설계를 방지할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Modeling of Hydrodynamic Processes at a Large Leak of Water into Sodium in the Fast Reactor Coolant Circuit

  • In this paper, we describe a physicomathematical model of the processes that occur in a sodium circuit with a variable flow cross-section in the case of a water leak into sodium. The application area for this technique includes the possibility of analyzing consequences of this leak as applied to sodium-water steam generators in fast neutron reactors. Hydrodynamic processes that occur in sodium circuits in the event of a water leak are described within the framework of a one-dimensional thermally nonequilibrium three-component gas-liquid flow model (sodium-hydrogen-sodium hydroxide). Consideration is given to the results of a mathematical modeling of experiments involving steam injection into the sodium loop of a circulation test facility. That was done by means of the computer code in which the proposed model had been implemented.

한국과 독일의 분산식 빗물관리를 위한 제도 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of the System for Decentralized Rainwater Management in Korea and Germany)

  • This study begins by examining the reason for the lack of urban planning that takes the water cycle into consideration. While there are institutions that support environmentally friendly development or smooth water circulation, these designs are not reflected in planning nor in the real world. After reviewing foreign case studies, policy suggestions and possible policy implications for Korea are derived. In Korea, there is not a sufficient level of relevant laws or institutions systematically established to make it possible to deal with rainwater in a decentralized way. Instead, facility standards or guidelines are considered separately for the control of water and for preventing natural disasters. And even though an environmentally friendly approach is stipulated in relevant laws in terms of spatial planning, there are no planning systems or implementation tools to actualize this kind of approach. The factors that make decentralized rainwater management possible in urban planning are analyzed based on the case study of Germany. Germany requires developers to plan in order to achieve ecological urban development. In addition, as a detailed implementation tool to promote conservation of the water cycle, the law provides for various kinds of measures such as restrictions on the proportion of impervious surface area according to the use of the land, required compensation measures for environmental degradation following development, introduction of a fee for rainwater runoff and the establishment of ecological landscape planning. The actual reason these measures can be implemented however is the provision of planning guidelines and design criteria for rainwater utilization, absorption and containment, and the construction of a database for various environmental information.

Case report: Mass mortality of olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) caused by acute gas bubble disease

  • This is the first report describing acute mass mortality occurred in juvenile olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) caused by gas bubble disease (GBD). A total of 610 fish (average weight = 35 g), which were more than half of the fish acclimated at 17℃ in an aquarium, were killed within two days of acclimation. The dead and moribund fish showed excessively opened opercula and mouths, and occasionally, severe exophthalmia. Through microscopic observation, numerous gas emboli were found in the gills of the dead and live fish, while the fish were not infected with any microbial pathogens. The dissolved oxygen (DO) saturation level of the rearing water and seawater nearby the facility reached 145% and 286%, respectively, whereas other water quality parameters (such as salinity, pH, and chemical oxygen demand) were normal. The extreme saturation rate of seawater in the shore nearby seemed to be due to an enormous algal bloom that occurred there. Through molecular identification based on 18S rDNA sequences, the most dominant algal species was most closely related to Ulva californica (99.87% sequence identity) followed by U. prolifera, U. linza, and U. curvata (99.81%). Therefore, it can be concluded that supersaturated seawater due to mass algal bloom caused gas bubble disease in the olive flounder, leading to mass mortality. After technical adjustment, such as increased aeration, lowered water circulation rate, and inlet water filtration using micro-pore carbon filters, the DO level became normal, no further mortality occurred and the status of the fish was stabilized.

대학 학생 식당의 위생적 공간 계획에 관한 연구 - 서울 E 대학 학생 식당 고객 공간에 HACCP 적용 중심으로 - (A Study on Hygienic Space Planing of a University Student Restaurant - Focused on the customer space in E University Student Restaurant in Seoul Applying HACCP -)

  • This research suggests a way of hygienic space planing of the customer space in the university student restaurant of E University in Seoul. For this study. the behavior observation in the restaurant was conducted in order to analyze the sequence of customer behavior related space planing applying HACCP (Hazard Analysis And Critical Control Point). Also the survey was conducted to analyze opinions of customers about hygiene of the space. The results of the analyses of the observation and the survey were similar in terms of hygiene. In conclusion, for hygienic space planing of the customer space in restaurant, the space circulation should be planned according to the hygienic sequence of customer behavior. The spaces in restaurant should be divided into two areas: the clean area and the contaminated area to prevent cross-contamination. The clean area, such as spaces preparing dishes and food including water and table hall where customers eat, should be separated from the contaminated area such as the spaces where waste is handled and where dirty dishes are kept. In order to prevent cross-contamination, hygiene facility to remove contamination should be located before going to the clean area. More specifically, the hygiene facility should be located between a cash counter and a space preparing dishes so that customers can wash their hands before they touch dishes. Space arrangement with feed-back process to check the possible points of cross-contamination and correct space arrangement until the possibility of cross-contamination is removed in the restaurant.

Thermal-Hydraulic Test Facilities and Some Test Results of Integrated Heating Reactors

  • Since the middle of the eighties of this century a research program both for heating reactor and investigation of heating reactor thermal-hydraulics has been carried out in Institute of Nuclear Energy Technology(INET) of Tsinghua university in China. This kind of heating reactor is a light water cooled and integrated natural circulation reactor with low system pressure and low quality at the exit of core. Because of relatively long riser and low system pressure. a little change of the quality at the exit of the core will result in a relatively large variation of void fraction in the riser. Two full scale test loops. HRTL-5 and HRTL-200 simulating the HR-5 and HR-200 heating reactors in geometry and operation parameters respectively, and some test results from the HRTL-200 test facility are shown in this paper. The range of studied system pressure is from 1.0MPa to 4.0MPa, the largest heat flux is about 50 W/cm2, and the quality at the exit of test section is less than 5%.

ANALYSIS OF A STATION BLACKOUT SCENARIO WITH AN ATLAS TEST

  • A station blackout experiment called SBO-01 was performed at the ATLAS facility. From the SBO-01 test, the station blackout scenario can be characterized into two typical phases: A first phase characterized by decay heat removal through secondary safety valves until the SG dryouts, and a second phase characterized by an energy release through a blowdown of the primary system after the SG dryouts. During the second phase, some physical phenomena of the change over a pressurizer function, i.e., the pressurizer being full before the POSRV $1^{st}$ opening and then its function being taken by the RV, and the termination of normal natural circulation flow were identified. Finally, a core heatup occurred at a low core water level, although under a significant amount of PZR inventory, whose drainage seemed to be hindered owing to the pressurizer function by the RV. The transient of SBO-01 is well reproduced in the calculation using the MARS code.

양수장의 가동시간을 이용한 하천수 취수량 산정방안 연구 (A study on the estimation of river water intake using the operating time of the pumping station)

  • 환경부 산하 물관리 기관들은 주요 하천을 대상으로 양질의 기초 자료를 생산 및 축적하고 있다. 하지만 농경지를 많이 포함한 유역에서는 농업용수의 취수와 배수 등 인공적인 물의 순환 과정이 정량적으로 조사되지 못하고 있어 하천 수량의 통합적인 관리가 부진한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 농업용수를 목적으로 하천변에서 취수되는 유량의 조사를 위해 사용되는 간접 유량 계측방법 중 가동시간에 따른 전력량법(가동시간법)을 적용 및 개선하여 저비용으로 높은 신뢰도의 결과자료를 얻을 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 가동시간법은 실시간 전력량 자료의 확보가 어려운 소규모 양수장에 적용하기 적합하다. 실측 유량과의 상관성 분석을 통해 자료의 신뢰성을 검증한 결과, 양수장의 흡입구가 연결된 하천의 수위를 반영하여 가동시간법으로 산정한 유량은 실측 유량과 상당히 일치하는 결과를 얻을 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 본 연구에서는 최초 설비 설치시에 대한 투자 비용을 직접 유량 계측방법들과의 비교를 통해 저비용으로 양질의 유량자료를 생성하여 높은 효율성을 가지는 것으로 확인하였다. 가동시간법을 하천변에 위치한 크고 작은 양수장에 적용하여 유량 자료를 확보한다면, 보다 정량적이고 통합적인 하천수 관리의 시행에 있어 많은 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다.
