폐타이어 분말을 이용한 혼합경량토의 역학적 특성 연구 (Mechanical Properties of Waste Tire Powder - Added Lightweight Soil)

  • 본 연구에서는 준설토, 폐타이어 분말 및 저회(bottom ash)를 재활용한 폐타이어 분말 혼합경량토의 역학적 특성을 고찰하였다. 본 실험에서 폐타이어 분말의 함량은 건조 준설토 중량대비 0%에서 100%까지 25%간격으로 변화시켜 5개의 공시체를 준비하였다. 혼합된 공시체는 일축압축시험, 탄성파 시험을 수행하여 강도와 지반정수들을 구하였다. 실험결과 폐타이어 함량이 증가함에 따라 일축압축강도와 단위중량은 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 그러나 파괴시 축변형률은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 폐타이어 분말의 함량이 증가할수록 폐타이어 혼합경량토의 응력-변형률 곡선은 취성적 거동보다는 연성적 거동을 나타내었다. 탄성파 시험에서는 폐타이어 함량이 증가함에 따라 탄성파 속도와 전단탄성계수는 감소하는 성질을 나타내고 있다.

준설토-저회-폐타이어 혼합경량토의 전단 및 CBR 특성 (Shear and CBR Characteristics of Dredge Soil-Bottom Ash-Waste Tire Powder-Mixed Lightweight Soil)

  • This study investigated the shear and CBR characteristics of dredge soil-bottom ash-waste tire powder-mixed lightweight soil, which was developed to recycle dredged soil, bottom ash, and waste tire powder. Test specimens were prepared with various contents of waste tire powder ranging from 0 to 100% at 50% intervals by the weight of the dry dredged soil. Several series of triaxial compression tests and CBR tests were conducted. The shear strength characteristics of the lightweight soil were compared using two different shear tests (triaxial compression test and direct shear test). The experimental results indicated that the internal friction angle of the lightweight soil obtained by the direct shear tests was greater than that by the triaxial shear tests. However, the cohesion value obtained by the triaxial shear tests was greater than that by the direct shear tests. The CBR value of the lightweight soil decreased from 35% to 15% as waste tire powder content increased.

지반보강재로서 폐타이어 사용에 따른 환경영향 분석 (Environmental Characteristics of Waste Tire for Use as Soil Reinforcement)

  • 본 연구에서는 지반보강재로서 폐타이어 사용에 따른 환경영향을 평가하기 위하여 실내실험 및 현장시험시공을 수행하였다. 실내실험을 통하여 폐타이어의 용출특성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 폐타이어의 입경과 배수조건을 변화시켜가며 유출수의 pH, 탁도, TOC, Zn 농도를 분석하였다. 또한, 현장시험시공을 통하여 폐타이어를 이용한 보강토 옹벽 시공 후 하부 집수정의 수질을 분석하였다. 입경에 따른 용출실험 결과 폐타이어 입경이 증가할수록 용출농도가 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 비표면적의 차이 때문으로 판단된다. 배수조건에 따른 용출실험 결과 배수조건인 경우 시간이 경과할수록 용출농도가 감소하여 주변 환경에 큰 영향을 미치지 않을 것으로 판단되나, 비배수 조건인 경우 시간이 경과할수록 용출농도가 증가하는 현상을 발견할 수 있었다. 1년간의 현장모니터링 결과 폐타이어로 보강된 옹벽으로부터 발생되는 침출수는 전반적으로 용출농도가 높지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 침출수 발생 초기에 농도가 증가하다가 이후 점점 감소하여 원수인 우수와 비슷해지는 경향을 나타내었다. 따라서 폐타이어를 지반보강재로 사용함에 따라 발생하는 환경적 영향은 무시할 수 있는 수준임을 알 수 있었다.

Application of various types of recycled waste materials in concrete constructions

  • Studies have proved that the mechanical properties of concrete, suddenly is dropped off with employing waste materials as replacements. The effectiveness of fibre addition on the structural stability of concrete has been indicated in recent investigations. There are different waste aggregates and fibres as plastic, rubber tire, coconut, and other natural wastes, which have been evaluated throughout the last decades. The fibres incorporation has a substantial effect on the properties of concrete mix subjected to different loading scenarios. This paper has reviewed different types of wastes and the effect of typical fibres including Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET), rubber tire, and waste glass. Furthermore, waste plastic and waste rubber has been especially studied in this review. Although concretes containing PET fibre revealed a reduction in compressive strength at low fibre fractions, using PET is resulted to micro-cracking decrement and increasing flexibility and flexural strength. Finally, according to the reviews, the conventional waste fibres are well-suited to mitigated time-induced damages of concrete and waste fibres and aggregates could be a reliable replacement for concrete.

  • In this paper, some representative waste tire pyrolysis were investigated together with the analysis of the problems associated with the commercialization of various waste tire treatment technologies. Also, R & D results on recovering the oil from the pyrolysis of waste tires, when waste oil was used as a heating medium, were summarized in this study. Experimental results show that the present pyrolysis process has both lower pyrolytic temperature and higher pyrolysis rate than usual one and that the quality of the product oil and residue obtained was relatively even with large availability.

  • Allylamine을 이용하여 UV하에서 폐타이어 분말을 개질하였으며, 이를 이용한 PP/폐타이어분말 복합체의 열적, 유변학적 성질을 분석하였다. X-ray 분석결과 무수말레 산이 그라프트된 폴리프로필렌과 같은 상용화제가 없는 경우 ${\beta}$ 결정의 피크 강도가 증가한 반면 상용화제가 있는 경우 완전히 없어짐을 알 수 있었으며, DSC 결과에서도 이를 확인할 수 있었다. 개질된 폐타이어 분말을 함유한 복합체의 용융점도와 탄성모듈러스는 개질되지 않은 분말을 함유한 복합체 보다 높은 값을 나타내었으며, 이는 개질된 분말 표면의 아민기와 말레이산이 그라프트된 PP의 상호작용에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

  • 폐타이어와 폐플라스틱을 이용한 환경문제 해결과 실용적이고 경제성 있는 재활용품 개발을 목적으로 수행되었으며 밀폐식 혼합기를 이용 폐타이어와 폐플라스틱을 첨가제와 함께 혼합하여 플라스틱 재질별, 폐타이어 함량별 차이에 따른 복합소재 특성을 규명하고자 하였다. 폐타이어/플라스틱 복합소재 실험 결과, 플라스틱 대비 폐타이어 함량을 15 wt%씩 증가시킴에 따라 복합소재의 인장강도와 굴곡강도의 세기는 점차 감소하였으며 신장율은 플라스틱 재질별로 차이가 있었다 폴리프로필렌과 같은 유기첨가제를 폐타이어 (60 wt%)/고밀도 폴리에틸렌 복합소재 전체함량 대비 20 wt% 혼합하였을 때의 인장강도가 폴리프로필렌를 투여하지 않은 복합소재보다 1.5배 높게 나타났으며 에틸렌 비닐아세테이트와 스티렌 에틸렌 부틸렌 스티렌을 각각 10 wt% 첨가 시 2.5배의 신장율이 증가하였다. 또한 무기첨가제 유리 섬유를 폐타이어 (50 wt%)폐고밀도 폴리에틸렌 복합소재 전체함량 대비 10 wt% 첨가 시 굴곡강도가 첨가제가 투여되지 않은 복합소재 굴곡강도보다 63% 높게 나타났다.

폐타이어를 흡착제로 한 카드뮴 함유 폐수 처리 특성 (Adsorption Treatment Characteristics of Cadmium Ion Containing Wastewater Using Waste Tire as an Adsorbent)

  • Adsorption features of $Cd^{2+}$ on waste tire particles have been investigated for the purpose of enhanced wastes recycling along with the development of an economic process for wastewater treatment. The isoelectric point of waste tire particles was found to be ca. pH 7 and the adsorbed amount of $Cd^{2+}$ was increased with pH under experimental conditions. The variation of the adsorption behavior of $Cd^{2+}$ with pH was well explained by the change of the electrokinetic potential of waste tire particles according to the pH. Adsorption of $Cd^{2+}$ was observed to reach its equilibrium within 45 minutes after the adsorption started under experimental conditions and followed the Freundlich model well. Kinetic analysis showed that the adsorption reaction of $Cd^{2+}$ was second order and thermodynamic estimation substantiated the endothermic behavior of $Cd^{2+}$ adsorption. As the amount of adsorbent increased, more adsorption of $Cd^{2+}$ was accomplished and the adsorption capacity of adsorbent was found to be enhanced by its pre-treatment with NaOH. Also, the adsorption of adsorbate was promoted as the ionic strength of wastewater was increased.

폐타이어의 철도진동 저감효과에 대한 실험적 연구 (Reduction Effect of Railroad Vibration by Utilizing Waste Tires)

  • This paper describes the results of a series of field experiments which are carried out to assess the reduction effect of railroad vibration by utilizing waste tires. The ground vibration due to train service is measured in Honam Railroad line and Kyongbu Railroad line to assess the ground vibration with the domestic railroad line and train type before field model test. From the results of these tests, frequency on train service is presented from 5Hz to 100Hz and a range of excellence frequency is presented to be about from 20Hz to 40Hz in the domestic railroad line. Also, plate bearing tests are conducted to evaluate the variation of bearing capacity with different thickness of the waste tire layer and the fill layer. Finally, field model test is performed by using tire chips ($5cm{\times}5cm$ in size) as a reduction material of railroad vibration. The reduction effect of railroad vibration by utilizing waste tires increases with increasing the thickness of the waste tire layer and the frequency of the vibration source. The results of this experimental study was shown that the waste tire can be used for reduction of the railroad vibration.

  • The 10t/d pyrolysis demonstration plant for waste tire recycling have been constructed and operated for commissioning of the plant. The plant have the tube reactor with chain conveyer attached disk. The reactor temperature is 500$\sim$600deg.C and pressure is -80$\sim$-100mmHg. Non-condensable gas is used as fuel for pyrolysis heat source.
