To find a recycling method for waste liquid crystal display (LCD) panel glasses, we investigated the synthesis process of zeolite with an ion exchange ability by hydrothermal reaction using waste LCD panel glass as a raw material. It was shown that the waste LCD panel glass can be used as a raw material for the production of zeolites having the ion exchange ability. Following conditions for the synthesis of the zeolite with an ion exchange ability were required : the molar ratio of Si to Al components of the waste LCD glass needs to be 2.0 to 2.8, and the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and reaction time of 12 hours are needed for the hydrothermal reaction. Based on the required conditions previously mentioned, the A type zeolite was synthesized when the molar ratio of the Si to Al component was 2.0, and the P type zeolite was produced when the molar ratio was 2.8. The type A zeolite synthesized by using the waste LCD panel glass showed a good ion exchange ability and heavy metal adsorption ability. Also, an excellent ion exchange capacity was observed as the crystal phase grows stably in a cubic phase.
The authors have proposed that waste glass, which is crushed to pieces, can be used as a concrete aggregate. At the present time, recycled-glass concrete is used for sidewalk concrete blocks and pavement as glass is ornamental. However, in cases where recycled-glass concrete is used for structural concrete, strength and durability are required as structural concrete is exposed to the weather. Glass that is used generally is a mixture of SiO$_2$, Na$_2$O and CaO. SiO$_2$is the most likely cause of alkali-aggregate reaction when waste glass was used for concrete aggregate. In this study, an alkali-aggregate reaction test that is one of the important tests related to durability of aggregate was carried out far discussion of utilization of waste glass for concrete aggregate. From the results of the tests, it is found that glass is a reactive aggregate. The pessimum proportion of glass is about 75%. Then the cases of using fly ash, blast furnace slag and artificial zeolite for admixture materials were also examined for the purpose of prevention of alkali-aggregate reaction. from the results of the test, it was found that using them is an effective way to prevent alkali-aggregate reaction. The compressive strength in the cases of using admixture materials is larger than that without admixture materials.
The purpose of this study is to establish a prediction model for the electrical resistivity ($E_r$) of self-consolidating concrete by using waste LCD (liquid crystal display) glass as part of the fine aggregate and then, to analyze the results obtained from a series of laboratory tests. A hyperbolic function is used to perform nonlinear multivariate regression analysis of the electrical resistivity prediction model, with parameters such as water-binder ratio (w/b), curing age (t) and waste glass content (G). Furthermore, the relationship of compressive strength and electrical resistivity of waste LCD glass concrete is also found by a logarithm function, while compressive strength is evaluated by the electrical resistivity of non-destructive testing (NDT). According to relative regression analysis, the electrical resistivity and compressive strength prediction models are developed, and the results show that a good agreement is obtained using the proposed prediction models. From the comparison between the predicted analysis values and test results, the MAPE value of electrical resistivity is 17.0-18.2% and less than 20%, the MAPE value of compressive strength evaluated by $E_r$ is 5.9-10.6% and nearly less than 10%. Therefore, the prediction models established in this study have good predictive ability for electrical resistivity and compressive strength of waste LCD glass concrete. However, further study is needed in regard to applying the proposed prediction models to other ranges of mixture parameters.
The aim of this work is to study the radiation shielding properties of cement samples with waste glass incortated into its composition. The mass attenuation coefficient (MAC) of the samples were experimentally determined to evaluate their radiation shielding ability. The experimental coefficient was evaluated using NaI detector for gamma energies between 59.53 keV and 1408.01 keV using different radioactive point sources Am-241, Eu-152, Co-60, and Cs-137, and the gamma transmission parameters half-value layer, mean free path, and transmission factor were calculated. The theoretical coefficient of the composites was determined using Geant4 and XCOM software. The results were also compared against Geant4 and XCOM simulations by calculating the relative deviation between the values to determine the accuracy of the results. In addition the mechanical properties (including Compressive and porosity) as well as the thermogravimetric analysis were tested for the present samples. Overall, it was concluded that the cement sample with 50% waste glass has the greatest shielding potential for radiation shielding applications and is a useful way to reuse waste glass.

This Study aimed to investigate fundamental properties of PHC pile using waste TFT-LCD glass powder. Through the present study, waste TFT-LCD glass powder may be taken into consideration for the application of mineral admixture for PHC pile.
In this article, the foamed body of glass was manufactured from the waste borosilicate glass produced by wet pulverization process without additional pretreatment which can be used as a recycling method for waste LCD panel glass. Each 100 g of pulverized waste borosilicate glass with the size of less than 270 mesh were mixed with 0.3 weight fraction of carbon and 1.5 weight fraction of $Na_2CO_3$, $Na_2SO_4$ and $CaCO_3$ and let them foamed for 20 minutes at $950^{\circ}C$ to manufacture the foamed body having the density of less than $0.3g/cm^3$. Additionally, adding $SiO_2$ or $H_3BO_3$ to the mixture enabled the foamed body to have efficient formation of open pores which showed the possibility for producing the foamed body with new functionalities such as sound absorption.

Glass wool is a material that has been used as a heat insulator in various fields including construction industry. Since it is a nonflammable material, it does not generate toxic gases on fire, and thus public agencies recommend using glass wool as a heat insulator instead of other organic materials. However, repeated drying and wetting cycles can deteriorate thermal property of glass wool due to the shrinkage and reduction in pore size. For this reason, it needs to be replaced periodically, and waste materials are generated. This research aims to utilize waste glass wool as additives for increasing mechanical properties of concrete. According to the experimental results, it was found that glass wool has weak pozzolanic activity, and beneficial effect on both compressive and flexural strength. The optimum amount found in this experimental work was 0.5% volumetric addition to the concrete.

This study measured the mechanical performance and residual strength of high strength/normal strength mortar mixed with waste glass fine aggregate after alkali-silica reaction and alkali-silica reaction. As a result, the effect of improving the slip phenomenon of the waste glass fine aggregate in the high-strength mortar was not significant, but rather the amount of ASR was increased.

In this study, the microstructure and gamma-ray shielding efficiency of CRT glass mortar specimen were evaluated with replacement ratio and material properties. The results show that as the replacement ratio of CRT waste glass increases, the volume of pores with diameters below 50 nm and above 400 nm is increased. Also, the half-value layer of CRT glass mortar decreased with the increasing of linear attenuation coefficient. In addition, compressive and flexural strength were reduced when CRT waste glass was replaced as the fine aggregate, but the mechanical performance of CRT mortar specimen could be obtained by substitution of the mineral admixture.
