하수처리수를 이용한 소수력발전소 설계 및 성능예측 (Design and Performance Prediction of Small Hydropower Plant Using Treated Effluent in Wastewater Treatment Plant)

  • A methodology to predict the output performance of small hydro power plant using treated effluent in waste water treatment plant has been studied. Existing waste water treatment plant located in Kyunggi-Do were selected and the output performance characteristics for these plants were analyzed. .Based on the models developed in this study, the hydrologic performance characteristics for SHP sites have been analyzed. The results show that the flow duration characteristics of small hydropower plant for waste water treatment plant have quite differences compared with small hydropower plant for the river. As a result, it was found that the developed model in this study can be used to analyze the output characteristics for small hydro power in waste water treatment plant. Additionally, primary design specifications such as design flowrate, capacity, operational rate and annual electricity production were estimated and discussed. It was found that the models developed in this study can be used to decide the design performance of small hydropower plant for waste water treatment plant effectively.

막여과 정수장 배출수처리시설의 효율적인 운영방안 (Strategy for efficient operation on the backwash waste treatment in membrane filtration water treatment plant)

  • Membrane backwashing waste shows seasonally different characteristics and it has bad settleability differently from general backwashing waste in water treatment plant. When chemicals was injected to membrane backwashing waste, the settleability was better than chemicals was not injected. However, when settled lower sludge was not discharged, flowing sludge continuously was concentrated over a certain surface and floatation penomena occurred according to flowing velocity. When the lower sludge was discharged continuously in the thickener to prevent floatation penomena of turbidity materials, the depth of sludge surface was the least and the settleability increased.

  • 아세트알데히드 페수를 생물학적으로 처리할 목적으로 폐수의 성상을 조사하였으며, 아세트알데히드 폐수에서 잘 생육하는 53개 균주를 분리 고정하고 그 중 가장 COD 제거율이 우수한 4개 균주 AW-6, AW-22, AW-38, AW-41을 선별하고 이들을 동정하였다. 아세트알데히드 폐수의 성상은 CODmn 5,260ppm, BODs 6,452ppm, pH 1.85였으며 유기성분의 주체는 초산으로 6.76%를 함유하였다. 균의 동정 결과, AW-6은 Micrococcus 갠뎐, AW-22는 Micrococcus luteus, AW-38은 Microbacterium lacticum, AW-41은 Microbacterium laevaniformans 또는 그 우연균으로 동정되었다.

취수원별 정수장 슬러지의 물리화학적 특성 (Characteristics of water treatment plant sludges on raw water source)

  • Recently, needs for reuse of sludge produced from WTP(water treatment plant) have been increased with shortage of landfill sites and difficulties of the treatment and disposal processes. Therefore, Reusing is becoming an Increasingly popular waste management alternative to divert waste from landfills. In order to research the characteristics of WTP sludges, we used the sludges of C WTP which intake the lake Dae-Cheong and the sludges of S WTP which intake Keum river, The specific surface area of C and S WTP sludges were $0.9986m^2/cc\;and\;1.874m^2/cc$, respectively. The gravity was about $2.0{\sim}2.4$ which are scope of peat or loamy clay. The major minerals of C WTP sludges were kaolinite(48.4%), muscovite(19.5%), and quartz(16.7%). Also, muscovite(31.6%), quartz(30.3%), and kaolinite(17.3%) in S WTP sludges were major minerals.

  • The several water resources are showed recently the various pollution types due to the industrialization and the disarranged district development. The living waste water, plant waste water and so are contaminated continuously and the recycling water is concerned highly to save the cost and to improve the environment as the general people. The dust and the heavy metal in the air and the acid rain are contaminating the river water and the underground water. The clean environment is on the rise to the general people and is to be the social problems. There is going to complement and repair the water supplying and fire extinguishing pipeline to save the construction cost and improve the environment in the construction facilities parts. Therefore, in this paper the recycling water treatment/supply apparatus using the living waste water is considerated technically and is raised on the practical uses.

제강 슬래그를 여재로 사용한 자연정화 하수처리장의 인(P)제거 효과 (Removal of Phosphorus by Blast Furnace Slag as a Filter Medium in a Self-Purifying Swage Treatment System)

  • A blast furnace slag(BFS) has been used as a filter medium for the treatment of domestic waste waters during the period of 9-month. More than 90% of phosphorus was removed while the hardness of the treated water increased by 5 times and the pH was significantly raised from 6.8 to 10.8. The high hardness and pH of the treated water indicated dissolution of BSF by the sewage. The experimental results suggest that BFS could be utilized for the removal of phosphorus in the waste water treatment plant using aquatic plants and gravels.

수정된 MLE 공정을 이용한 Full-Scale에서의 돈사분뇨처리 (Piggery Waste Treatment using Improved MLE Process in Full-Scale)

  • The improved MLE (modified Ludzack-Ettinger) process was operated for piggery waste treatment in full-scale public livestock waste treatment plant. The treated waste from bioreactor was suitable for the strict effluent standard of 200 mgCOD/L and 60 mgTN/L as it was dewatered chemically without settling tank and passed through filtration process. Though this treatment method produced a great deal of sludge ($6.4m^3\;per\;m^3$ dewatered piggery waste) it was able to accomplish predominant effluent quality by removing non-biodegradable COD and color without advanced oxidation process as ozone, fenton and etc.. The nitrogen removal efficiency of bioreactor was rapidly declined from March to May (from 0.016 to 0.005 kgN/kgVSS-day) when disinfection is in earnest as well as from warm season when reactor temperature rises higher than $35^{\circ}C$(from 0.016 to 0.008 kgN/kgVSS-day). This study proves that counterplanes for infection residuals, bioreactor temperature and dewatering sludge reduction are necessary for piggery waste treatment.

  • With the experience of the 1994 drought, and the shortage of water resources in Japan, it has been re-informed upon us ensure and maintain the stability of water resources. Accordingly, with each plant, a serious appraisal has begun looking at the re-use of waste water. Membrane technology is an important process for waste water recovery. Effluent kom waste water facilities changes the quality of water significantly. The conventional pre-treatment of RO is hard to supply good quality feed water to RO in the waste water recovery system. The microfiltration system as a pre-treatment of RO in the paper overcomes the fouling with the air backwash and is operated in direct flow mode at a low pressure producing a high flux. The paper will focus the waste water recovery using membrane technology and many examples will be given.

  • What I would like to expect about this mater is that Korea would develop unique techniques of the waste water which are most suitable to social and other relevant conditions of that country, not entirely following models of sewerage construction of U.S.A. or European countries or Japan. Some cements will be made in the followings: (1) The investigation for the diffusion of seperated simple public sewerag, not the large scale sewerage treatment plant. (2) The plan for non-mixed treatment of lining waste water and industrial waste water. (3) Suggestion for "a man of ability" at the university education to cultivate a technologist of facilities and the elemental watchman at the sewerage maintenance.
