Seedling stage is particularly important for tree survival and is easily influenced by warming. Therefore, air temperature being increased due to climate change may affect physiological traits and growth of seedlings. This study was conducted to investigate the physiological and growth responses of Larix kaempferi seedlings to open-field experimental warming. 1-year-old and 2-year-old L. kaempferi seedlings were warmed with infrared lamps since April 2015 and April 2014, respectively. The seedlings in the warmed plots were warmed to maintain the air temperature to be $3^{\circ}C$ higher than that of the control plots. Physiological responses (stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, net photosynthetic rate and total chlorophyll content) and growth responses (root collar diameter (RCD), height and biomass) to experimental warming were measured. Physiological and growth responses varied with the seedling ages. For 2-year-old L. kaempferi seedlings, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate and net photosynthetic rate decreased following the warming treatment, whereas there were no changes for 1-year-old L. kaempferi seedlings. Meanwhile, total chlorophyll content was higher in warmed plots regardless of the seedling ages. Net photosynthetic rate linked with stomatal conductance also decreased due to the drought stress and decrease of photosynthetic efficiency. In response to warming, RCD, height and biomass did not show significant differences between the treatments. It seems that the growth responses were not affected as much as physiological responses were, since the physiological responses were not consistent, nor the warming treatment period was enough to have significant results. In addition, multifactorial experiments considering the impact of decreased soil moisture resulting from elevated temperatures is needed to explicate the impacts of a wide range of possible climate change scenarios.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of soil heating on control of root-knot nematode(Meloidogyne incognita Chitwood) by root zone warming system. Root zone was warmed by hot water flowing through pipe set at 35cm depth from the ridge The lowest soil temperatures at 20cm depth were set at 3$0^{\circ}C$, 4$0^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$ and non-warming. under soil submerging condition and non-submerging condition. Soil heating was done for 5 days(120 hours) from Aug. 1 to Aug. 5. The root-knot nematode juvenile densities of 4$0^{\circ}C$ under submerging condition. and $50^{\circ}C$ under non-submerging condition were 0 which was expected lower than the economic injury level. The contents of OM P$_2$$O_{5}$, Ca Mg and EC in soil were decreased by root zone warming The EC was considerably lowered under submerging condition.

The temperature of root zone was known as an important factor for the growth of crops and reduction of energy in greenhouse. The purpose of this study was to design the apposite inflow of calories per the unit area by comparison of temperature in the warmed and non-warmed soil. The energy needed for soil warming about pipe length showed the change of temperature on inflow and outflow as $2^{\circ}C{\sim}3^{\circ}C$(average $2.5^{\circ}C$). Therefore, the inflow per the unit hour was 3,450, 57,5 kcal/$h{\cdot}m^2$ on soil heating respectively. The non-warmed soil temperature in greenhouse made a difference by depth and it was partially affected inner temperature under 15 cm, but it was not above 15 cm. The soil temperature would be raised over $5^{\circ}C$ than non-warmed soil to increase effect of soil warming. Therefore, the inflow per the unit area that should be provided was about 100 kcal/$h{\cdot}m^2$.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the antimicrobial effects of the interior warming herbs on vaginal microbes. Methods: Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans and Gardnerella vaginalis were used for vaginitis-induced microbes. Lactobacillus gasseri, Streptococcus spp. and Escherichia coli HB101 were used for normal vaginal florae. And herbs for warming the interior (Zingiberis Rhizoma, Alpiniae Officinari Rhizoma, Aconiti Tuber, Anethi Fructus, Evodiae Fructus, Cinnamomi Cortex Spissus, Caryophylli Flos, Aconiti Tube, Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, Piperis Longi Fructus, Piperis Nigri Fructus) were used in this study. Antimicrobial activities were tested by the change of optical densities (OD) and colony test in vitro. Results: In the results of vaginitis-induced microbes, Anethi Fructus was decreased the OD values on MRSA and Gardnerella vaginalis and Aconiti Tuber was decreased on MRSA. There were no viable MRSA and Gardnerella vaginalis colony forming against Evodiae Fructus, Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA colony forming against Piperis Longi Fructus, Staphylococcus aureus colony forming against Piperis Nigri Fructus and MRSA colony forming against Zanthoxyli Pericarpium. In the results of normal vaginal florae, Zingiberis Rhizoma was decreased the OD values on Streptococcus spp. and all normal vaginal florae were showed viable colony forming against all experimental herbs. Conclusion: According to these results, we can suggest that some kinds of interior warming herbs have antimicrobial effects on vaginal microbes. So there might be needed to make furthermore studies to seek the herbs which have selective antimicrobial effect on pathologic vaginal microbes.

Recent changes of the climate, which caused by global warming, have much effect world-widely. Korea also has struggled with these kinds of weather problems, and construction industry couldn't get away with them, either. However, the research, regarding to these problems, has not been quite settled, yet. Therefore, this study is to find out how the global warming can affect construction periods. As a result, we could recognize that changes of climate, which caused by global warming, also affects non-working days, too. This study is expected to be used as the data to find out the relationship between weather changes and domestic construction industry in the future.

The air temperature is gradually increasing owing to global warming, especially in summer, therefore, the performance of an air source heat pump (ASHP) is expected to be decreased. Accordingly, the performance gap between the ASHP and ground source heat pump (GSHP) should be increased, however, the quantitative comparison has not been yet investigated. In this study, impact of global warming on the performance of the ASHP and GSHP is investigated based on the climate data for 1930, 1980, and 2030. The coefficient of performance (COP) as well as annual power consumption of the ASHP and GSHP are compared and analyzed. In the case of COP, the COP of GSHP hardly changes over the years owing to the constant ground temperature, while that of ASHP decreases by 3.7% for cooling and increases by 0.71% for heating. In the case of annual power consumption, the cooling and heating power consumption of GSHP increases by 12.69% and decreases by 15.58%, respectively, over the year owing to the changes in heating and cooling loads. As for the ASHP, the cooling and heating power consumption increases by 16.64% and decreases by 17.8%, respectively. For a more accurate comparison, power consumption ratio is introduced and shows that total annual power consumption of the GSHP to ASHP decreased from 68% in 1930 to 65% in 2030. Therefore, as global warming accelerates, the effect of reducing power consumption by using GSHP compared to ASHP is expected to be increasing.
This study aimed to determine whether middle school students could understand global warming and the greenhouse effect, and explain them in terms of global radiative equilibrium. From July 13 to July 24 in 2021, 118 students in the third grade of middle school, who completed a class module on 'atmosphere and weather', participated in an online assessment consisting of multiple-choice and written answers on radiative equilibrium, the greenhouse effect, and global warming; 97 complete responses were obtained. After analysis, it was found that over half the students (61.9%) correctly described the meaning of radiative equilibrium; however, their explanations frequently contained prior knowledge or specific examples outside of the presented data. The majority of the students (92.8%) knew that the greenhouse effect occurs within Earth's atmosphere, but many (32.0%) thought of the greenhouse effect as a state in which the radiative equilibrium is broken. Less than half the students (47.4%) answered correctly that radiative equilibrium occurs on both Earth and the Moon. Most of the students (69.1%) understood that atmospheric re-radiation is the cause of the greenhouse effect, but few (39.2%) answered correctly that the amount of surface radiation emitted is greater than the amount of solar radiation absorbed by the Earth's surface. In addition, about half the students (49.5%) had a good understanding of the relationship between the increase in greenhouse gases and the absorption of atmospheric gases, and the resulting reradiation to the surface. However, when asked about greenhouse gases increases, their thoughts on surface emissions were very diverse; 14.4% said they increased, 9.3% said there was no change, 7.2% said they decreased, and 18.6% gave no response. Radiation equilibrium, the greenhouse effect, and global warming are a large semantic network connected by the balance and interaction of the Earth system. This can thus serve as a conceptual system for students to understand, apply, and interpret climate change caused by global warming. Therefore, with the current climate change crisis facing mankind, sophisticated program development and classroom experiences should be provided to encourage students to think scientifically and establish scientific concepts based on accurate understanding, with follow-up studies conducted to observe the effects.
We have examined the relative contributions of representative space weather proxies (geomagnetic aa index) to global warming (Global temperature anomaly) and compared them with that of green house effect characterized CO2 content from 1868 to 2005. For this we used Hadcrut3 temperature anomaly (Ta) data, aa index taken at two anti-podal subauroral stations (Canberra Australia and hartland England), and the CO2 data come from historical ice core records. From the comparison between Ta and aa index, we found several interesting results: (1) the linear correlation coefficient between two parameters increases until 1990 and then decreases rapidly, and (2) the scattered plots between two parameters shows different patterns before and after 1990. A partial correlation of Ta and two quantities (aa, CO2) also shows that the geomagnetic effect (aa index) is dominant until about 1990 and the CO2 effect becomes much more important after then. These results imply that the green house effect become very important since at least 1990. For a further analysis, we simply assume that Ta (total) = Ta (aa) + Ta (CO2) and made a linear regression between Ta and aa index from 1868 to 1990. A linear model is then made from the linear regression between energy consumption (a proxy of CO2 effect) and Ta (total) - Ta (aa) since 1990. This linear model makes it possible to predict the temperature anomaly in 2030, about 1 degree higher than the present temperature, which is much larger than in the previous century.
Indirect $CO_2$ effect due to non-methane volatile organic compound (NMVOC) emissions from solvent and product use and fugitive NMVOC emissions from fuels in the Republic of Korea and 13 Annex I countries under United Nations Framework on Climate Change were estimated and the proportions of them to total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions ranged from 0.092% to 0.45% in 2006. Indirect greenhouse effect ($CO_2$, $CH_4$, and $O_3$) were estimated at 13 photochemical assessment monitoring sites in the Republic of Korea using concentrations of 8 NMVOCs of which indirect global warming potential (GWP) were available. The contribution of toluene to mixing ratio was highest at 11 sites and however, the contribution of toluene to indirect greenhouse effect was highest at nine sites. In contrast to toluene, the contributions of ethane, butane, and ethylene were enhanced. The indirect greenhouse effects of ethane and propane, of which ozone formation potentials are the lowest and the third lowest respectively among targeted 10 NMVOCs, ranked first and fourth highest respectively. Acetaldehyde has relatively higher maximum incremental reactivity and is classified as probable human carcinogen however, its indirect GWP ranked second lowest.

The change of land use such as the construction of way in mountainous area and tunnel leads to the quantitative change of the greenhouse gas. This study tried to clarify the effect of the change of land use around Miryang Ice Valley on thermal environment of micro-meteorological scale by numerical experiment. We carried out several numerical experiment under different atmospheric conditions with different amount of greenhouse gases. Heating rate increased by the greenhouse gas in the ground level is average of 0.0073 K/day. And the increasing rate if smaller than the daily average heat crossing quantity.
