Purpose: To determine the effect of the Fall Prevention Program(EPP) on gait, balance and muscle strength in elderly women at a nursing home. Method: The subjects of this consisted of 38 elderly women between the ages of 70 to 89 years living at a nursing home located in Seoul. Each of the experimental group and control group was composed of 19 subjects. The subjects in experimental group have participated in FPP for the 8 weeks which consisted of exercise, education and foot care. They started to exercise for 40 minutes per session, 3 sessions a week during the 1st week at 40% of age adjusted maximum heart rate. From the 2nd week to the 4th week, they increased the duration of exercise to 50 minutes per session and the intensity to 60% of age-adjusted maximum heart rate. They participated in 50 minutes at 60% of age-adjusted maximum heart rate from the 5th week to the 8th week. Each exercise session consisted of 10 minutes of warming-up exercise, 30 minutes of conditioning exercise and 10 minutes of cooling-down exercise. They participated in education for 20 minutes per week from the 1st week to the 4th week. Then they participated in a 30-minute foot care program per week from the 5th week to the 8th week. Gait, balance and muscle strength for each subject were measured before and after FPP. Gait was evaluated by step length, step width, gait speed and walking distance. Balance was measured by the duration of standing on one leg with their eyes closed and open each, and a get-up and go test. Grip strength was measured by hand dynamometer. Hip extensor and flexor strength, knee extensor and flexor strength and ankle plantarflexor and dorsiflexor strength were measured by manual muscle tester. Data was analyzed using SPSS form Windows. t-test and Chi square test were utilized as a homogeneity test. Repeated measure ANOVA was used to test the effect of FPP. Result: 1) Step width significantly decreased, and step length, gait speed and walking distance significantly increased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 2) There was no significant change in standing time on one leg with their eyes closed after FPP. The standing time on leg with their eyes open and the time of "get-up and go" significantly decreased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 3) Muscle strength-grip strength, hip extensor and flexor strength-significantly increased in the experimental group compared with the control group after FPP(p<0.005). 4) There was no significant difference of frequency of fall between the experimental group and control group during the period of FPP. Conclusion: These results suggest that FPP can increase gait, balance and muscle strength of elderly women at a nursing home.
The reactivation for Art & Culture Content Space in Gangwon province need new turning point according to new approach with internal and external change. That should be established in sustainable possibility model with preexisted natural advantage instead of economical depression and global warming of in these days. That is not a choice to get a successful construction of art & culture content space in Gangwon province. Throughout of reactivation of art & culture content space in Gangwon province, this proposal should go on with diversity of culture and concrete art & culture educational program absolutely to get a goal in regional economical success and social good influence. Already Yeongwol region had lots of art & cultural spaces and developmental strategy compared with other regions in decade. In these points, I choose this region and would like to research Yeongwol region in limit. Thus I would examine and study about art & culture content space in Yeongwol region. And I will concretely suggest that this proposal is composed with economical creating employment and incoming. The reactivation for Art &Culture Content Space in Yeongwol will build up social and cultural influences to this region to get a new modern cultural images and improvement of common life of regional people by and large. In the way of the process to globalization, this reactivation project for Art &Culture Content Space in Yeongwol should go on the base of regional culture background as a mean of glocalization paradigm strategically. Ahead of developing model for globalization in macroscopic view point, we have to research the demend of reginal situation of cultural content and build up its own strength points. Because Art & Culture Content Space in Yeongwol is the place of people in Yeongwol directly as itself. And managing plans of reactivation of art & culture content space in Yeongwol should build up with diversity of culture and environmental circumstances.
Soil respiration under flooded conditions is considered to be very small compared with aerobic soil respiration of soil organic matter. However, anaerobic decomposition of soil plays a key role in carbon cycling in flooded ecosystems. On the other hand, coal-ash wastes, such as fly ash and bottom ash, are known to function as a soil amendment for mitigating $CO_2$ emission and enhancing carbon sequestration in up land soils. In this study, we investigated bottom ash as a soil amendment for mitigating $CO_2$ emission, and thus enhancing carbon sequestration under anaerobic conditions. We observed that amendment of bottom ash without external organic source led to significant reduction in $CO_2$ emission rate and in total cumulative $CO_2$ emission flux over the incubation period, which was proportional to the amount of bottom ash applied. We also found that soil microbial biomass increased in response to application of bottom ash. These results suggest that bottom ash can be utilized to store $CO_2$ as a stable soil organic carbon in flooded ecosystems, as in aerobic situations.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic factors of motion during air pistol shooting. Method: This study aimed to investigate changes in forces during movement and determine the factors that affect changes in force during the first, middle, and last periods of shooting an air pistol. Two ground reaction force systems (force platform), SCATT (a shooting training system), and EMG (electromyogram) to measure the action potentials in the muscles of the upper body were used in this study. Four university air pistol players (age: 19.75 years, height: 175.50 cm, body mass: $69.55{\pm}11.50kg$, career length: $6.25{\pm}6years$) who are training to progress to a higher rank were enrolled. Results: In terms of the actual shooting results, the mean score in the middle section was $42.48{\pm}1.74$ points, higher than those in the first and the last periods when using SCATT. The gunpoint moved 13.48 mm more vertically than horizontally in the target trajectory. With respect to action potentials of muscles measured using EMG, the highest action potentials during the aiming-shooting segments, in order higher to lower, were seen in the trapezius (intermediate region), trapezius (superior region), deltoid (lateral), and triceps brachii (long head). The action potentials of biceps brachii and brachioradialis turned out to be high during grasping motion, which is a preparatory stage. During the final segment, muscle fatigue appeared in the deltoid (lateral), biceps brachii (long head), brachioradialis, and trapezius (intermediate region). In terms of the ground reaction force, during the first period of shooting, there was a major change in the overall direction (left-right $F_x$, forward-backward $F_y$, vertical $F_z$) of the center of the mass. Conclusion: The development and application of a training program focusing on muscle groups with higher muscle fatigue is required for players to progress to a higher rank. Furthermore, players can improve their records in the first period if they take part in a game after warming up sufficiently before shooting in order to heighten muscle action potentials, and are expected to maintain a consistent shooting motion continuously by restoring psychological stability.
With the development of tangible interface in recent years, the interest in interactive exercise games to improve health-related physical fitness has been increased. We believe that this kind of serious game should provide not only motion sensing of the action required to play sports but also a specific effectiveness of exercise. This paper will show how a serious exercise game affects theirs heart rate and preference. For the experiments, we used an exercise game named GalaxyBike for aerobics exercise which is developed by the Interaction Media Research Center of Hoseo University. In the experiments, players' heart rate was measured during the warming-up, exercise and cooling-down periods by a wireless heart-rate measuring instrument. After they played the exercise game, a survey was conducted to see how they like this serious exercise game. The findings of the study suggest that the serious exercise game providing both video game and exercise would make a contribution to the improvement of health-related physical fitness since it serves to increase the heart rate and motivation.
The warming up of the recent competition in the smart phone industry followed by rapid increase of open platforms and app stores have led the mobile terminals to adopt the general purpose operating system. The mobile device utilizing this OS is vulnerable to mobile malignant code which is highly transferable. As a result, the scale of mobile attack and harm increase. However, compared to the malicious code and virus which keep increasing, the elements for security to prevent are insufficient. Therefore, this paper describe about the Context Aware Service that eliminates the potentially risky elements on the smart phone service, which could threaten the usability of the service including invasion of personal information. The proposed system prevents from disclosure of personal information by giving the procedure of information, and realizes the service that is able to change the sequence of identifying the users' information to prepare for emergency.

Due to global warming, the need to secure an alternative resource has become the international issue. Not like other renewable energy sources, TCP is the high reliable and predictable and continuous energy source as the current pattern and speed can be predicted throughout the year. Having very strong tidal current speeds, there are many suitable site for the application of TCP (Tidal Current Power) on the west and south coastal region in Korea. The maximum current speed in the south is recorded up to 6.5m/s. Due to the high tidal current speed on the west coast of Korea, numerous tidal current projects are being planned. To extract a significant quantity of power, a tidal current farm with number of devices is required in the ocean. However, it is important to estimate the potential quantity of energy in the area. Also the realistic quantity that can be extracted is to be investigated. Based on the estimated energy production considering the number of devices and the interactional effects, system type, the water depth and etc., the cost of the development and the benefit from SMP can be estimated. The feasibility study for the 200MW tidal in Incheon, Korea has been performed recently. Based on the actual feasibility study, the procedure and the key points for the application of tidal current power farm are introduced in the paper.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of walk training on leg strength, flexibility, postural stability, balance and gait in home bound elderly women. Eighteen elderly women of the experimental group aged between 70 and 90 years image who have normal vision, hearing and Romberg test. They participated in the 12 week walk training. The subjects of the experimental group practiced walk training 3 times a week for during 12 weeks. During the 40 minute workout, the subjects practiced 5 minutes of warming-up exercises, 30 minutes of conditioning exercises and 10 minutes of a cool-down exercise. The intensity for the conditioning phase was determined by subject' heart rates, which ranged from 60% to 70% of age-adjusted maximum heart rates. The body composition, leg strength, flexibility, postural stability, balance and gait were measured prior to and after the experimental treatment. The body fat, lean body mass, leg strength (ankle dorsiflexor, plantarflexor, inversor and eversir, knee flexor, extensior), flexibility (range of motion of ankle dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion and eversion), and postural stability of the experimental group were significantly greater than those of the control group. Duration of standing on the right foot and that of standing on the left foot of the experimental group was greater than that of the control group. Total balance scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Among 13 items for balance, the scores of experimental group in balance with eyes closes, turning balance, sternal nudge, neck turning, one leg standing balance and back extension were higher than those of the control group. Total scores of gait of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group following the walking training. Scores of experimental group in step height, step length and walk stance while walking among 9 items for gait were significantly higher than those of the control group. The results suggest that walk training can improve physical fitness for prevention in home bound elderly women.

PURPOSE: To determine the effect of weight ball throw training as a preparatory exercise before golf practice for 8 weeks on back muscle strength, weight shifting of lower body, head speed of club, and driving distance of amateur golfers. METHODS: A total of 18 subjects were randomly assigned to the experimental group (n=9) and the control group (n=9), respectively. For the experimental group, Weight ball throw training was provided to the height of waist and shoulder similar to golf swing with the following schedule: 3 kg weight ball throw training from the first week to the 4th week; 5 kg weight ball throw training from the 5th week to the 8th week. Before and after 8 weeks of training, back muscle strength, weight shifting of lower body, head speed of club, and driving distance of subjects in the two groups were measured. RESULTS: The experimental group showed significant differences in rotational back extension torque, weight shifting of lower body, head speed of club, and driving distance during golf swing (p<.05). However, the control group only showed significant difference in driving distance during golf swing (p<.05). Back extension torque, weight shifting of lower body, and head speed of club showed significant differences between the two groups during golf swing (p<.05). CONCLUSION: Weight ball throw training can positively change rotational back muscle strength, weight shifting of lower body, head speed of club, and driving distance of amateur golfers. Therefore, it might be used as an effective warming up exercise for amateur golfers.
The electrical, mechanical and optical capabilities have been tested of the microdensitometer PDS 1010GMS at the Korea Astronomy Observatory. The highest stage of scan speed 255 csu (conventional speed unit) is measured to be 47 mm/s. At this speed the position is displaced by $4{\mu}m$ to the direction of scanning and the density is underestimated by $0.4{\sim}0.7D$. Standard deviation in the measured density is proportional to $A^{-0.46}$, where A is the area of scan aperture. The accuracy of position repeatability is ${\pm}1{\mu}m$, and that of density repeatability is ${\pm}(0.003{\sim}0.03)D$. Callier coefficient is determined to be 1.37; the semispecular density is directly proportional to the diffuse density up to 3.5D. Because the logarithmic amplifier has a finite response time, the densities measured at high scan speeds are underestimated to the degree that speeds higher than 200 csu are inadequate for making an accurate astronomical photometry. After power is on, an about 5 hour period of warming is required to stabilize the system electrically and mechanically as well. On the basis of this performance test, we have determined the followings as the optimum scan parameters for the astronomical photometry: For the scan aperture $10\;\sim\;20{\mu}m$ is optimal, and for the scan speed. $20\;{\sim}\;50$ csu is appropriate. These parameter values are chosen in such a way that they may keep the density repeatability within ${\pm}0.01D$, the position displacement under $1{\mu}m$, and the density underestimation below 0.1D even in high density regions.
