The research background rests on literature of social media, social media marketing, electronic word of mouth and social media advertisement. Descriptive research method is adopted for the purpose of this study. The findings indicated that South Korean users have higher intention to purchase products through social media platforms as compared to users in Pakistan. The results also show that electronic word of mouth has greater influence on purchase intention as compared to advertisement on social networks. Managerial implications and limitations of the study results were also discussed.
As the online word-of-mouth(WOM) using SNS has significant influence on consumer decision-making, the hospitality industry including the restaurant industry has actively used SNSs as one of major marketing tools. While researchers have focused on impacts of the online WOM, there is little research on motivations to provide WOM and its impacts on the WOM providers. The purpose of this study is to examine whether sharing the restaurant experience on Facebook, the representative SNSs, can change customer satisfaction and intentions to revisit and recommended and whether the type of motivations to share the restaurant experiences on Facebook affects customer satisfaction and intentions to revisit and recommend. The total of 260 college students volunteered to participate in this study. They first visited a restaurant and completed surveys twice before and after sharing their restaurant experience on Facebook. According to the study results, the levels of satisfaction, intention to revisit and intention to recommend after sharing the restaurant experience were found to be higher than before sharing the experience. This study also found that people who shared their restaurant experience for nostalgia were more likely to be satisfied with the restaurant services and have a higher level of intentions to revisit and recommend the restaurant. Theoretical and managerial implications as well as limitations and future research directions are discussed.

Long-term customer retention strategies with switching cost is very important for gaining a competitive advantage in on-line shopping mall environment. The purpose of this study is to investigate the affecting factors of switching cost in terms of on-line shopping mall's quality and the effects of it on customers' behavior moderating commitment. According to the result, information quality and customized information were found to be significantly related to social switching cost, and also royalty program and product differentiation were found to be significantly related to lost benefit cost and procedural cost respectively. When it comes to the relationship between switching cost and commitment, results shows that social switching cost is not significantly related to affective commitment. Lost benefit cost and procedural cost, however, were found to be significantly related to affective commitment and calculative commitment respectively. Finally, affective commitment was found to bolster repurchase intention and control negative WOM, and calculative commitment was found to bolster both repurchase intention and negative WOM.
The arrival and expansion of the Internet has extended consumers' options and has provided consumers' opportunities to offer their own consumption. Through a laboratory experiment, we investigated questions: 1) do consumers trust the accuracy of reviews posted by anonymous reviewers or experts and 2) do readers trust negative and positive reviews equally? The messages were created as a form of 4 scenarios for this study. The statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Win(v.16.0) for descriptive analysis, and t-test. Our results from a 2(positive reviews vs. negative reviews)*2(consumer vs. expert) experiment design showed that there was a significant difference between consumers' review and experts' one in restaurant visit intention(p<.001) and information credibility(p<.001). Also, between positive review and negative one, significant difference was found in restaurant visit intention(p<.001) and information credibility(p<.01). Other results, limitations and future research directions were also discussed.

The current study investigates VPA usage (i.e.,continuance intention of use, WOM intention) of by Theory of Planned Behavior (i.e.,attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control) and perceived value/risk. The results show that (1) attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and perceived value positively predicted the continuance intention of VPA use. Regarding WOM of intention, there were positively significant effects of the attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and perceived value. The results of this study are expected to provide a variety of practical and theoretical implications in promising artificial intelligence market by the impact of TPB (i.e.,attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control) and perceived values of VPA.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of e-service quality factors on customer satisfaction and behavior intention by Web site types. Difference and moderating effect resulting from the type of web site users about an association with reaction of satisfaction and those component concepts are also one of the aims in the study. As a result, the study found that factors of web site service quality variables had positive impacts on customer satisfaction. And customer satisfaction also had a positive impact on relationship intention and word of mouth intention. Furthermore, through the comparative analysis, we found that the service quality differed on the effects of customer satisfaction by web site types. According to those results, marketing managers should develop different service strategies based on different web site types.
Most of the existing studies on the volume and valence of the eWOM (electronic word of mouth) about movies and box-office revenues were conducted using online actual data (secondary data) at Yahoo Movies, IMDB.com, Naver Movies, etc. However, it is difficult to grasp psychological variables from online actual data. Therefore, existing studies using online actual data could not identify the causal relationship among volume, valence and psychological variables. This study fills this gap in the literature. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects (i.e. mediating effect) of the volume and valence of online reviews about movies on purchase intention through review credibility as a mediator. We conducted a survey on the South Korean consumers and a structural equation modeling. The outcomes show that the total effects of both volume and valence are significant. In addition, volume has an indirect effect only (i.e. full mediating effect) on purchase intention through review credibility, but valence has both direct and indirect effects (i.e. partial mediating effect) on purchase intention through review credibility. The theoretical and practical implications for these results are presented.

This study investigates the influential factors on online word-of-mouth (eWOM) intentions towards educational tourist destinations, primarily focusing on Korean universities and Chinese tourists. It reveals a positive correlation between eWOM intentions and the desire to enroll in these institutions. The significance of eWOM for attracting Chinese students elucidates the importance of establishing a strong brand image and ensuring high levels of tourist satisfaction. Moreover, social media users who travel for education purposes were found to emphasize self-image consistency and conspicuous self-expression. This research underscores the utility of leveraging social media to enhance the perception of educational tourist attractions, promoting these destinations, and stimulating eWOM, thereby enriching the understanding of the strategic use of social media in international student recruitment.
