The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of dynamic software in solving high school analytic geometry problems compared with traditional algebraic approach. Three high school students who have revealed high performance in mathematics were involved in this study. It was considered that they mastered the basic concepts of equations of plane figure and curves of secondary degree. The research questions for the study were the followings: 1) In what degree students understand relationship between geometric approach and algebraic approach in solving geometry problems? 2) What are the difficulties students encounter in the process of using the dynamic software? 3) In what degree the constructions of geometric figures help students to understand the mathematical concepts? 4) What are the effects of dynamic software in constructing analytic geometry concepts? 5) In what degree students have developed the images of algebraic concepts? According to the results of the study, it was revealed that mathematical connections between geometric approach and algebraic approach was complementary. And the students revealed more rely on the algebraic expression over geometric figures in the process of solving geometry problems. The conceptual images of algebraic expression were not developed fully, and they blamed it upon the current college entrance examination system.

This study focuses on seeking a desirable direction for the discussions about identity issue of the current Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM). The identity issue of the current TKM is about asking what exactly the current TKM is, what sets the TKM apart from the other medical systems, and what value the TKM has in the contemporary settings, and seeking suitable answers to all these questions. The most important factor that affects these answers is what kind of the concept of identity we have. Current discussions of the identity issue of the TKM take narrow and inflexible concepts of identity such as "Numerical Identity," or "Qualitative Identity", not suitable for TKM, which is always changing and open to other academic fields. This study suggests that Hannah Arendt's concept of identity is more desirable for the TKM, which highlights pluralism and relations, as well as defining identity as a creative, positive, and open-ended process. In addition, this study also suggests that taking a closer look at the "field", which has previously been hidden behind the discourse on the "modernization", will help in figuring out what exactly the identity of the current TKM is. Lastly, the current discussions about "unification of Eastern and Western medical system", and "Integrative Medicine" in Korea will affect the identity issue of TKM.

The purpose of this paper is to explore that what is the consideration when using photographs as data sources for historic costume research. So in other to achieve the study, first of all, I have to think over about the new media, photography, and then review the articles and studies how they have been used by scholars outside or our field. The considerations are the followings: 1. What kind of information can be found in historic photographs? The kind of information that may only be found in historic photographs and not in any other data source. What types of photographs are there; how the information varies by type of photograph. 2. What photographs can provide as data sources? How photographs can be used quantitative versus qualitative information; how to collect this information from one or more photographs, the criteria for the use of photographs. 3. Limitations of using historic photographs and what kind of information cannot be found in historic photographs. Be sure to discuss investigating the reliability of assigned dates;the importance of and suggestions on how could be done as part of the criterial for use of photographs. So, by asking and understanding these questions, we will use photographs better as a visual resource forward.

This study had two purposes: first, to develop various health nutrition education materials for preschool children as well as their teachers and parents, and second, to apply the health nutrition education programs systematically. The health nutrition education materials consisted of : 'Salt! I know what it is and eat it', 'Friend! Let's have breakfast.', 'I eat vegetables(rainbow)', 'I hate fat', 'I enjoy exercise', 'I am growing very fast'. 'I am curious about my body', 'My body is important', 'Cigarettes, what are they?', 'What's included in cigarettes?'. 'Smoking, it gives my family pain', 'Let's quit smoking', and 'Let's drink moderately'. During the education period, booklets, wall charts, photographs, food models, videos, animated films, and demonstrations were utilized. Based on age, there were significant differences in the effects of 'I am curious about my body'(p<0.05), 'What is included in cigarettes?'(p<0.01), and 'Smoking, it gives my family pain'(p<0.05). There were also significant differences in 'Salt! I know what it is and eat it', 'Friends! Let's have breakfast.', 'My body is important.' and 'Let's quit smoking'. As a result, to improve food habits and health nutrition knowledge, health nutrition education programs must be presented to day care center children as well as their parents, and persistent education is necessary.

This study aims to investigate what to be prepared and implemented for the military integration when South and North Korea are making progress toward unification. Although we can not exactly predict when the unification will be completed at this time, preparations for the military integration should be ready ahead of time. Since the failure of the military integration can threat the unification, elaborated and practical solutions are required. Therefore, the study tries to answer the following questions : 1) What types of the military integration are desirable and what are the prerequisites for the unification of Korean Peninsular? ; 2) What potential military tasks could be caused by military integration? ; 3) What are the core and major tasks among them and how could they be solved in practical aspects?

The thing that should be considered preferentially when we introduce sounds to the space we are living in is to clarify the notion - for whom when, what kinds of sounds, where, for what and how to. There are two physical habitate conditions which affect the quality of soundscape. The one is 'Background sound' of the space which should be masked or applied in accordance with its qualify. The other is features of the habitat which would be the factor building up ambience and the index for us to decide specificities of the sounds to be introduced. Selecting or producing the sounds to be introduced, we should consider those to make these represent the community, influence people's behavior, be in harmony with surroundings, and give the identity to the space. There are two ways to introduce the sounds. The one is to put sound sources which actually make the sound. The other is to put the sounds without practical sound source but with objects related to those. For later, it's important not to introduce the sounds people prefer but what would be in harmony with the place. In this study, we've researched what kinds of sounds could be utilized for soundscape designing. And, we've studied if those can be, how those should be introduced and what other factors should be considered.

This paper is a kind of interdisciplinary studies which connect a Western film criticism with a criticism of minority literature in America. My purpose in this paper is to put on the table such a sensitive issue as racial representation and representativeness in Clint Eastwood's revisionist Western, Unforgiven. We admit generally that Western films have contributed to the white American myth-making of how the West was won. Yet, since the mid-1960s, a growing number of revisionist Westerns were produced so as to raise a question about the conventional way of looking at what happened in the American West. In order to analyze the problem inherent in the way of seeing, I pay attention to how the director Eastwood (re)presents a character named W. W. Beauchamp in the film. Presumably, what the character Beauchamp misses in the West can be overlapped with what ordinary film viewers miss in the genre of Westerns. Given this, interrogating both what Beauchamp sees and what he misses within the movie, I attempt to disclose how much of the West has been unseen from his biased viewpoint. By doing so, I argue why it is important to focus on some passing scenes that touch on the irony of a Native American train passenger, the gaze of the mute Native American housewife, the abrupt disappearance of Asian American men, the lynching of African-American ex-cowboy, and the self-determination of the saloon prostitutes. Then I hope that, conservative and mainstream though the director is, his way of revising the Western is not quite far from my minority-conscious critical position.

This is a review article which looks into details what the actual scenario of the problem of breast cancer in our country is. As the problem is on the rise, what is the level of the preparedness at our end to tackle the problem. The articles reviews the epidemiology of breast, high risk factors, detection, diagnosis and treatment facilities also along with that screening facilities and their ground reality, awareness of the women from different walks regarding various issues of breast cancer and what intervention can be made to combat the disease.
