A Channel Estimation Scheme using Early-late Doppler Compensator in uplink WCDMA system (WCDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크에서 Early-late 도플러 보상을 이용한 채널 추정 기법)

  • To increase system capacity in WCDMA receiver, the coherent detection is an essential technology for recovering transmitted symbols correctly. For coherent detection, an accurate and fast channel estimation is required. In next generation mobile communication system, high frequency carriers are used, and high data rate services are provided for subscribers having high mobility. In this communication environment, however, the rapidly-changing doppler frequency degrades the quality of the transmitted signal a lot. In WCDMA system, the channel estimation is conducted using pilot channel and/or pilot symbols which are known to both transmitter and receiver. Some existing channel estimation algorithms utilize these information quite well, but the performance of channel estimation gets very poor in a complicated fading channel distorted by the doppler effect. In this paper, we propose a new channel estimation algorithm combining an early-late doppler compensator so that the doppler effect and the fading characteristics are compensated at the same time. By computer simulation, the proposed algorithm proved to be a much more efficient channel estimation method in the fast fading channel, even at reasonably low Eb/No.

  • As a demand for high speed uplink packet services increases, the WCDMA enhanced uplink, also known as high speed uplink packet access (HSUPA), has been specified in release 6 by 3GPP. This HSUPA will provide various types of multimedia services, such as real-time video streaming, gaming, VoIP, and FTP. Generally, the performance of HSUPA is dominated by scheduling policy. Therefore, it is required to design a scheduling algorithm considering the traffic characteristics to provide QoS guaranteed services in various traffic environments. In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm considering the traffic characteristics to guarantee QoS in a mixed traffic environment. Finally, the performance of the proposed scheduling algorithm is evaluated in terms of average packet delay, packet delay jitter, and system throughput using a system level simulator.

  • Today, According to it widely used that third generation mobile networks service, WCDMA module development technology and its utilization is expanding increasingly and thus to IT Convergence industries is a trend that a lot of appears. This paper, OBD-II communications to bring a vehicle information use and data to an external server transfer and it was developed that vehicle status monitoring from other external devices can be system. From the various sensors inside a vehicle using the OBD-II connector read the information, after converting the user easier to see, WCDMA module using the car status monitoring system to transfer to an external data server was implemented. Developed to test the performance of the system using virtual's state vehicle simulator, which occurs in the real car that will generate the data. It was sent to the OBD-II connector to be occurred data, vehicle status monitoring system was confirmed that Data was received without error. In addition, When this data using WCDMA transmit data to an external server the same data was confirmed that it was received without error. In the future, this technology using the OBD-II vehicle IT convergence technology can be used in a wide range.

  • This paper presents implementation details of car communications system based on V2I2V model over broadband wireless networks including WCDMA, HSDPA and WiBro. Also, we measures the major performance metrics such as Round Trip Time, end-to-end latency and others between in-vehicle client and location management system by driving across urban areas in Daegu city. Analysis of experimental results would be helpful to consider the applicability of traffic safety services using V2I2V-based car communications over various broadband wireless networks.

  • Wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) is the most widely adopted third generation air interface. The physical layer of the air interface is the main discussion topic during standardization processes. This paper aims to investigate the performance of uplink WCDMA over many conceivable transmission scenarios in realistic operating conditions. The focus of the study is placed on the performance under frequency selective fading channel conditions with multiple access interference (MAI) in mixed services environments. For the investigation, a simulator has been developed and it encompasses a variety of WCDMA air interface features. The results show that the performance is greatly affected by MAI and is further aggravated with the presence of frequency selective fading, thereby necessitating a suitable compensation measure.

  • Recently, according to the rapid development of mobile system, the development of relative mobile components has been required, and especially, with the miniaturization of mobile component, the complex with nearby components has been progressed. In this paper, multi-output VC-TCXO (Voltage Controlled-Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) for WCDMA integrates the additional CMOS inverter, so it can be the normal clipped sinewave output and additional CMOS output, and also it can be satisfied the VC-TCXO's requirements for WCDMA system. And the important characteristics of reference oscillator, like phase noise and frequency short term stability, are satisfied with WCDMA(UMTS) system's requirement In this paper, however, 25MHz is used for reference frequency, similarly and practically, we think that it can be used from 10MHz to 40MHz.

  • 망 자원의 효율적인 사용, 관리 및 기존의 망을 흡수 통합하기 위해서 차세대통합네트워크(NGcN), ALL­IP 망으로 망 진화가 이루어지고 있으며, 이에 따라 동기식 CDMA2000 과 비동기식 WCDMA의 이동 통신망도 통합 및 연동에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그리고, 망 개방화에 대한 분위기도 고조되는 상황에서 CDMA2000, WCDMA등과 같은 서로 다른 무선 액세스 망에서 동일한 게이트웨이를 통하여 무선인터넷 서비스를 제공하려는 움직임도 있다. 본 논문에서는 망 진화에 따른 망통합 및 연동과 망 개방에 따른 COMA200 과 WCDMA 의 서로 다른 무선인터넷 액세스를 동시에 지원하기 위한 시스템인 A­MiDAS(Advanced Mobile internet Data Access System)에 대해서 소개하고, A­MiDAS 내의 CDMA2000 과 WCDMA 를 수용하기 위해서 설계 및 개발된 MNAB(Mobile Network Access Board)에 대해서 기술한다.

  • 이 논문은 WCDMA 와 안테나 배열 시스템에서 저 레벨 양자화와 MUSIC 알고리즘을 사용하여 신호의 방향을 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 추가의 Power-Up Function 이 필요 없는 방향각 방법으로 이동가입자의 위치를 알아내기 위해 안테나 배열을 이용하여, WCDMA 시스템에서 역확산 코드로 다수의 신호를 분리하고, 각 신호를 저 레벨로 양자화 시켜 MUSIC 으로 신호의 방향각을 추정하였다. 이 방법을 이용하면 단말기의 안테나 출력파워가 낮더라도 기존 방법의 에러율과 비슷함을 시뮬레이션 결과로 알 수 있고, 양자화 비트를 처리하기 위해 필요한 메모리 또한 줄일 수 있어 하드웨어의 비용을 줄일 수 있을 것이다.
