A Design and Evaluation of WBI based on Agent considering Emotional Experience (감성체험을 고려한 에이전트 기반 WBI 설계 및 평가)

  • It is difficult to let computer express feelings because of the ambiguity and nonlinearity. But it is said that expressing emotions is very important for high quality data processing and improvement of interactivity in WBI. In this paper, I surveyed emotion models from the view point of psychology. Next, I proposed WBI(Web Based Instruction) based on character agent considering emotional experience. By experimental result, the proposed model shows that has more user's preference than other existing WBI.

  • DGS(dynamic Geometry System)와 WBI(Web Based Instruction)를 고찰해보고, 동적 기하 프로그램의 대표적인 프로그램인 GSP, Cabri, Cinderella를 이용하여 WBI를 제작해 보고 웹 환경 하에서 세 프로그램의 효율성을 비교 ${\cdot}$ 분석하였으며, 이들 세 프로그램의 장점을 정리하여 웹 환경에서 동적 기하 프로그램의 개선 방향을 제시하였다.

  • The emergence of distance learning through Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) requires a lot of abilities from learners, and these become main features to a successful learning. Accordingly, a self-regulated learning is one of the key abilities required by the learners, Hence this study is aimed to develop Web-Based Instruction(WBI) systems that support this self-regulated learning. The self-regulated learning not only provides significant positive learning effects, but also appropriates to apply on the WBI because it has learning-structure of specified instruction process and each process requires separated spaces. Therefore, in this study, a model of self-regulated learning system on the web is developed.

  • Web Based Instruction has its theoretical background in constructivism paradigm of education. According to social changes called information era and thanks to the sophisticated internet mechanism the constructivism in education has been dominant paradigm. In this paradigm information and knowledge are not merely given by a instructor facing the loaners. This system of instruction has n almost every field of discipline introduced. This article aims to examine how far WBI and constructivism are applicable for design education. Richard Branchia predicted that the learner oriented instruction method would become the dominant education system. He stressed an interactivity of the teacher and students. Upon this can the applicability of WBI for design education be affirmed. Furthermore, there is a dozen of successful cases like www.cyberartcenter.com) (www.digitalyeil.co.kr)', http://www.schooleweb.co.kr/, htp://www.startstudy.co.kr/among many others. This article suggests several ways to solve the problems web based design education faces, including the lesson should inevitably combine the outline and of online study.

  • When the developers develop the software, the cost and time of the software development can be reduced by using blocks that are implemented previously. We call these implemented blocks components. In the early stage of Web-based Instruction, it didn't gain preference in spite of it's benefit of convenience. The main reason is, I think, the lack of generality at the education system which eventually results in unsatisfactory facilities compared with the requirement of teachers and students. And the early systems don't make good use of the plenty data in distributed environment, and don't show so good reliablity due to lack of systematic design and development. In this paper, we suggest WBI developing technology using the concept of WBSE. WBI developing is consist of component of pre-developed education software, integration of component using its reusability, and production of more requirement-satisfactory education software.

  • Recently, as more web-based applications are widely used, various methods for education are developed in practical areas. As a result, in many organizations, virtual educations such as WBI learning. CAI, and distance learning are offered actively. With the advantages of web-based education, in order to achieve feasible and efficient effects on education. a new web-based instruction model that considers the abilities, the interests, and the aptitudes of students individually is required. In this paper, a new web-based instruction model, called a hybrid model, is proposed and implemented. And then, two model - the stepwise model and the hybrid model- are applied to a computer accounting class of a vocational high school. Students attend the web-based class in a computer center for 100 minutes autonomously. After the classes, a questionnaire is made in order to analyze both the effect on that class and the learning fulfillment of the proposed instruction model.

  • We call WBI the educational program of this new teaching method which uses the web system. The instruction in WBI settings can make students feel more excited and interested in learning activities because it combined various sorts of multimedia materials such as moving pictures, graphics, and sound.. The diverse learning contents of this program not only supplement student's needs but also stimulate their creativities and application abilities. Based on the internet web courseware, this paper attempts to suggest the new program. This design implements the text, image and sound by using Explorer 5.0 in HTML, Javascript, Photoshop 5.0, Flash 4.0, and finally Gif Construction.

  • Internet becomes absolutely necessary tools due to rapid progress of information technology. Educational correspondence abount an age of information demand is a education focused on a learner and remote education based on information technology. WBI(Web Based Instruction) is a formation that remotly educate a learner using web, possible mutual reaction between instructor and learner, submint various studying material, has a good point to overcome spatial restriction. Internal and external standardization working is accelerated and recently XML security studies are activated using XML which is next generation web standard document format. And XML electronic signature raise interworking between digital signature systems used by various field of using XML document. Using these merit and complementing defect are main contents that users have to pay about Certification service to get CA certificate from 2004 june. This paper propose multiplex Certification remote education agent system using XML digital signature to satisfy security requirement.

  • Purpose: The purposed of this study was to develop and evaluate a Web-based for medical terminology educational program. Method: For the development of this program, the NBISD model was applied as a basic model and WBI ID Process Action model was applied. It was executed for 15 weeks along with off-line lectures. After the operation of this program to 210 nursing students, learners' responses were analyzed twice(at 5th week and 15th week). Result: The satisfaction with this program was slightly above the center point. But the structure of system and composition of design were high score. The results of the final evaluation were more positive than those of the interim one. This program have the advantage of easy accessibility and easy understandability with picture and testing. Conclusions: This study proved the importance of the suitability of learning contents and learning form in developing WBI programs and showed possibility for applying WBI to medical terminology. In order to enhance the effects of Web-based medical terminology educational program for, it is necessary to perform analytic comparison with the effect of WBI based on self-directed learning.

A Development and Application of Science Learning Material Including SF Movies (SF 영화를 활용한 과학학습자료 개발 및 적용)

  • The purpose of study is to develop the web-contents for web based instruction (WBI) with the Science Fiction Movie (SF) and investigate the effects of application to the science learning. The results are as follows. 1) Science fiction movies for the earth science classes of middle school were selected, that is the Armageddon, the Apollo13 and the Total Recall. They are related to the chapters, the Earth and the Stars in the 8th grade science textbook. 2) The developed WBI materials were applied to the science classes of the 2nd grade in middle school through the Internet Line. and then the changes of attitude on science and recognition on using the science fiction movies to the class were analyzed. The results show that the science fiction movies have so much related to the contents of science learning and the developed WBI materials are effective to the science classes(p<0.05), but no meaningful (p>0.05) to the attitude on the science excluding the students' interest to science learning.
