WASP6모형을 이용한 성층화 호소의 수질모의 (Water Quality Modeling of Stratification Lake Using WASP6 Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 호소 및 저수지의 수질을 예측하는데 널리 사용되는 WASP6 모델을 이용하여 저수지 수질을 예측함으로써 수질관리자의 수질관리 정책 및 의사결정에 효과적으로 반영하고자 하였다. 연구결과 오염부하량중 관광객에 의한 오염 배출부하량이 전체의 T-N, T-P 중 91.66%, 92.75%로 축산과 토지이용에 의한 배출부하량 보다 월등히 높은 것을 알 수 있으며, 이는 대상유역의 주 오염원이 관광객과 인구에 의한 것을 알 수 있다. 년도별 오염 배출부하량 예측결과 BOD는 2012년 현재 보다 약 1.6배, T-N은 2012년 1.5배 정도 T-P는 1.5배 정도 증가 할 것으로 예측되어, 오염부하량 저감을 위한 대책 마련이 시급한 것으로 판단된다. 수옥정 저수지의 BOD의 경우 현재 비교적 양호한 수질을 나타내고 있으나, 년도가 지날수록 수질오염이 증가할 것으로 판단되므로 시급한 오염저감시설 확충 및 관리가 필요하다. 특히 T-N과 T-P는 호소 부영양화 조절을 위한 제한 영양소임을 고려할 때 오염원 통제에 대한 집중적인 관리가 필요할 것이다.

유전알고리즘을 이용한 WASP7 모형의 보정과 상수원 저수지에 대한 적용 (Calibration of WASP7 Model using a Genetic Algorithm and Application to a Drinking Water Resource Reservoir)

  • 수동보정으로 수질모델링을 수행할 때는 연구자의 주관이 개입되어 해당 연구의 객관성에 영향을 줄 소지가 있기 때문에 자동보정에 관심을 갖게 된다. 본 연구에서는 WASP7 모형의 수질 매개변수 보정을 위해서 유전알고리즘과 영향계수법을 적용하였다. 이 방법에서는 대상 호수의 BOD, DO, 인, 질소, 식물성플랑크톤에 큰 영향을 미치는 매개변수를 대상으로 최적 수질 매개변수를 산정한다. 성층현상이 일어나는 대상 호수의 수온과 수리적 특성을 정확하게 계산하기 위해 3차원 수리모형인 EFDC를 적용하였고, 이 모형의 결과는 본 연구에서 이용한 호수수질모형인 WASP7 모형과 연동해서 적용되었다. EFDC와 WASP7의 적용을 위해 동일한 격자망을 구성하였다. WASP7의 보정결과 5개 보정 대상 수질변수 중에서 DO, TN, CBOD에 대한 실측치와 계산치의 상대오차제곱합은 비교적 적었다. 따라서 이 세가지 수질에 대한 보정은 적절히 수행되었으나, TP와 Chl-a에 대한 보정결과는 비교적 정확도가 낮았다.

팔당호의 영양염류 예측을 위한 수질관리모형의 비교 (Comparison of Water Quality Models for Prediction of Nutrients in Lake Paldang)

  • In this study two water quality models, widely used in Korea, WASP5 and SWRRB were applied to Lake Paldang. The simulated results were compared with the measured data. The simulation results using WASP5 showed that this model could reasonably predict the concentrations of $NO_3$-N, Organic N, and Organic P. In order to investigate the effect of pollution by non-point source SWRRB was simulated and the concentrations of nutrients were predicted. The results from WASP5 and SWRRB are not directly comparable because their input data are different and output values are differently presented. Therefore, if these two simulation models were applied simultaneously, many valuable data and information could be obtained due to their own applicabilities and advantages.

  • 감천의 지류인 부항천 유역에 조성될 댐 건설로 인한 인공호의 호수내 수질변화를 예측하기 위하여 WASP5 모형을 이용하였다. 모의결과 현재 수준으로 오염부하가 지속될 경우 2011, 2016, 2021년에 대하여 COD 기준으로 2.07mg/L, 1.93mg/L, 1.84mg/L로 각각 감소하는 것으로 예측되었으며 호소 수질기준 2등급 수준으로 나타났다. 따라서, 수질농도를 원하는 수준으로 낮추기 위하여 유역의 수질보존 대책이 이행되어야 하며, 수질보존 대책이 이행되었을 경우는 COD농도는 1.06mg/L로 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 금강의 중ㆍ상류부에 위치한 인공호수인 대청호 유역의 경우, 최근 급격한 인구증가와 물자생산, 그리고 이들의 결과로 인한 각종 오염물질의 증가로 수질보전과 관리에 심각한 문제가 야기되고 있으므로, 이에 대한 집중적인 수질관리가 요구된다. 이들 문제를 해결하기 위하여 지난 수년간 많은 연구가 수행되었지만 근본적인 해결의 실마리를 찾지 못하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 현재 수행되고 있는 수질관리가 미흡한 것으로 나타나고 있어 이를 보완할 새로운 관리기법의 도입이 시급히 요구되고 있지만 이에 대한 체계적인 기술축적과 자료 및 경험의 부족으로 많은 어려움을 겪고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 WASP5 모형을 이용하여 대청호의 수질을 해석하고 GIS와 연계시켜 수질관리시스템을 구축함으로서 효율적이고 과학적인 수질관리가 이루어지도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다. WASP5 모형을 대청호의 실측치와 비교하여 모형의 보정과 검증을 수행하였고, 수질관리시스템 구축을 위한 GIS와의 연계는 ArcView의 Avenue를 이용하여 구성하였다. Avenue를 통한 다양한 메뉴 구성 및 이를 통한 모의수행은 사용자 요구나 편의에 맞게 손쉽게 처리할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 따라서, GIS 환경하에서 실제적이고 효율적인 수질관리 뿐만 아니라 장래수질의 예측도 가능하기 때문에 대청호 이외에 다른 유역에 대한 활용성도 매우 높을 것으로 판단된다.

EFDC-Hydro와 WASP7.2 를 이용한 금강하류의 수리-수질 연계 모델링 (Serial Use of Hydrodynamic and Water Quality Model of the Geum River using EFDC-Hydro and WASP7.2)

  • This study reports the serial use of a 3-D hydrodynamic model, EFDC-Hydro and a dynamic water quality model WASP7.2 that are maintained by USEPA. The 48 km section of the Geum River downstream between Daechung Dam and Gongju was selected as a sample study site. Topographical information was used to accurately represent morphology of the study site and boundary conditions were derived from governmental databases including WAMIS by Ministry of Land and Ocean and WEIS by Ministry of Environment. EFDC-Hydro was successfully calibrated for observed water level and WASP was calibrated using monthly observed water quality data obtained from the above sources. It was found that the current water quality target of BOD for the Geum River-H point could not be met on monthly basis though every other tributary of the area would meet its own water quality target as assigned in Korean TMDL. This study proposed the new target BOD water quality for the Gabcheon and Mihocheon as 4.3 and 3.6 mg/l, respectively so that the Geum River-H point can meet the target. When Sejong City is constructed, it is estimated that effluent discharge limit of BOD must be less than 4.5 mg/l to meet water quality of the point. This study shows that it is possible to carry out more precise modeling considering both water movement and water kinetics by using EFDC and WASP simultaneously.

수질예측을 위한 WASP7 모형 매개변수의 추정 (The Parameter Estimation of WASP Model for Water Quality Prediction)

  • The objective of this study is analysis of Andong-Dam lake water quality with water quality model. Model parameters of the WASP applied to Lake Andong-Dam were estimated. The methodology is based on grouping water quality constituents and relevant parameters and successively estimating parameters by a trial-and-error procedure. Water qualify system for modeling consisted of BOD, DO, T-N, T-P. The results of water quality modelling using WASP. T-N was maximum affected by K71C(Organic nitrogen mineralization rate) parameter. T-P was maximum affected by K83C(Dissolved organic phosphorus mineralization) parameter, and It did not show a difference almost from the parameter of others and it omitted. BOD was maximum affected by Temperature parameter, it was visible of the reaction due to the KDC(Deoxygenation rate) in afterwords, and it did not show a difference from the parameter of others and it omitted. DO was maximum affect by Temperature parameter, and It did not show a difference almost from the parameter of others and it omitted. The parameter which it presumes from the this study uses a water quality modeling and Actual value and the result with which it compares, error rate the parameter presumption which is appropriate with 1% interior and exterior is investigated, It will reach and it uses and it will be able to apply to the suitable parameter in water quality modelling of the objective area which can be feeded by it becomes.

Social Wasp Diversity and Wasp Nest Removal Trends on Ulleungdo Island, South Korea

  • This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive survey of social wasp diversity and its impacts on remote Ulleungdo Island, South Korea. A total of 12 wasp traps were placed across the island, and specimens were collected monthly from May to October. Additional collection was conducted by thoroughly inspecting the areas surrounding the traps. The traps yielded a total of 5,068 individuals, representing two genera and two species. A total of 3,961 Vespa simillima simillima Smith individuals (78.2%) were collected, and 1,107 individuals (21.8%) were identified as Vespula flaviceps flaviceps Smith. Additionally, five individuals of Polistes snelleni de Saussure were collected through sweeping, bringing the total to 5,132 individuals of three genera and three species. It is worth noting that our findings indicate potential misidentifications in the species list of Vespidae found in the literature. Emergency services call centers reported the removal of 60 social wasp nests on Ulleungdo Island between 2018 and 2022, with the highest number of reports occurring from July to September, accounting for 87% of all cases. Dodong-ri and Jeodong-ri, with the highest populations, reported the most incidents, although fortunately, there have been no recent injuries. Past incidents involving the destruction of dried squid products by Vespula species have resulted in significant economic losses, underscoring the need for preventative measures. Furthermore, ongoing surveillance of hornet invasions is essential to safeguard the Jangwon bees being reared on Ulleungdo Island.

WASP5에 의한 대청호 수질모델링 (Water Quality Modeling of Daechong Reservoir by WASP5/EUTR05 Model)

  • Lately water quality of Daechong Reservoir has become more eutrophicated than ever before and there has been much concern over especially the eutrophication of the embayment near Daejon and Chongju Water Intake Tower every summer. The purpose of this study is to predict the impact of change in the pollutant loading, flowrate, nitrogen and phosphorus release from sediment, SOD(sediment oxygen demand) upon the water quality of Daechong Reservoir by WASP5/EUTR05 in order to suggest water quality management alternatives. The data of Sep. 1995 were used for the calibration of the model and those of Sep. 1997 was for verification. The result of the modeling can be summarized as follows. 1. The 50% increase(decrease) of pollutant loading has caused that of T-N concentration by 0.10-0.14 mg/l, T-P concentration by 0.003-0.005 mg/l, and CBOD concentration by 0.16-0.18 mg/l. But the ratio of DO change by the change of pollutant loading was relatively small. 2. The sensitivity test of NH4 flux to T-N and that of P04 flux to T-P shows that T-N and T-P concentration were changed more in the epilimnion segments (SEG4, SEG5, SEG6, SEG7) than the other segments. As SOD increases, DO was predicted to decrease more especially in the hypolimnion (SEG9-SEG14). 3. As flowrate increase, the concentration of T-N, T-P, and CBOD were predicted to decrease, but DO concentration increased especially in the hypolimnion segments(SEG11, SEG12, SEG13, and SEG14). As the flowrate changed from $119m^3/sec$ to $50m^3/sec$, the concentration of T-N and CBOD in the hypolimnion was predicted to decrease.

보령담수호의 수질거동 특성 (Characteristics of Water Quality Behavior in Boryeong Freshwater Lake)

  • Among water quality models, WASP5 was applied to Boryeong freshwater lake, as a part of Water Quality Management System. The WASP modeling system is a generalized modeling framework for contaminant fate and transport in surface waters. The simulated result was compaired with actual measurement. So, before and after making freshwater lake were compaired. After this research, the lake may have eutrophication and water quality would be worse after making the lake as freshwater lake. Therefore, to make the freshwater lake better, more appropriate plan is necessary.
