Effect of Burn out Print Finishing on Cellulose Fiber Damage (섬유소계 직물의 탄화날염가공이 섬유손성에 미치는 영향)

  • To find out the effect of burn out print finishing for better quality of fabric, examined processing which could make less damages on the fiber because the biggest problem is remained fibers damage after burn out print finishing. Fiber damage examined to the condition of finishing material NaHSO$_4$and H$_2$SO$_4$, 3~10min., 100~13$0^{\circ}C$, glycerin. The fiber damages evaluated the break strength and the surface condition by SEM. Among satin, pile fabric which remained fiber is silk, warp knitted fabric which remained fiber is polyester, the fibers damage level were warp knitted fabric$0^{\circ}C$, glycerin and for 6 minutes by NaHSO$_4$. When carbonized by 20%. 50% and 70% to express textile design, carbonizing rate was not effect on the fiber damage very much. There was almost no damages with glycerine, and almost no damages during 3~6minutes fixation time, 10$0^{\circ}C$ steaming heat fixation by NaHSO$_4$and H$_2$SO$_4$. Without glycerine, there were damage by hydrolysis on polyesters surface and the fiver was broken by fixation time.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the type of stitch and designs of knitwears using handcraft ornament techniques. This paper will also go on to develop and merchandize high value generated by design development. Knit is largely divided into weft knit stitch and warp knit stitch which are respectively woven by weft knitting machine and warp knitting machine. For clothing, circular knit and flat knit are frequently used while plain stitch, rib stitch and purl stitch are perceived as the basic stitches. Denbigh stitch, cord stitch, atlas stitch, which belong to tricot stitch, are the basic of warp knit stitch. There are also numerous fancy fabrics adapting the previously mentioned stitches and these are made into solid pattern and yarn dyed pattern. The handcraft ornament techniques in knitwears design are embroidery, beads, sequin, stone, printing, applique and fringe, etc. By applying these techniques thus creative expression, which cannot be expressed in other fashion items, is feasible. The women's knitwears are tries by mixed and various techniques, develope to high value knitwears, escaping from simple and practical items.

Thread Distribution Method of GP-GPU for Accelerating Parallel Algorithms (병렬 알고리즘의 가속화를 위한 GP-GPU의 Thread할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we proposed a way to improve function of small scale GP-GPU. Instead of using superscalar which increase scheduling-complexity, we suggested the application of simple core to maximize GP-GPU performance. Our studies also demonstrated that simplified Stream Processor is one of the way to achieve functional improvement in GP-GPU. In addition, we found that developing of optimal thread-assigning method in Warp Scheduler for specific application improves functional performance of GP-GPU. For examination of GP-GPU functional performance, we suggested the thread-assigning way which coordinated with Deep-Learning system; a part of Neural Network. As a result, we found that functional index in algorithm of Neural Network was increased to 90%, 98% compared with Intel CPU and ARM cortex-A15 4 core respectively.

A Study of Geum Silk from Seokgatap in Bulguksa (불국사 석가탑 내 발견 금직물(錦織物) 고찰)

  • In 1966, $Seokgatap$ pagoda in $Bulguksa$ temple was damaged by the tomb robbers and was dismantled to fix the damage. In the process, many offerings to Buddha and containers for Sarira(the cremated remains) were found in $Sarigong$(specially designated space for the Sarira casket) inside the second floor of the pagoda. Many fabrics like $Geum$, $Neung$(twill), $Rha$(complex gauze), silk tabby and linen were also excavated. In this study, $Geum$ fabric from the $Seokgatap$ was closely examined. $Geum$ of $seokgatap$ is weft-faced compound weave according to the analysis of its weaving pattern which was wrongly presumed as warp-faced compound weave for some time. Technical analysis of $Geum$: Main: silk, Binding: silk, Proportion: 1 main warp to 1 binding warp, Count: 15 main warps and 15 binding warps per centimeter, Weft: polychrome silk without apparent twist, Colors: yellow, mustard yellow, deep blue, green and purple, Weave: weft-faced compound twill, 1/2 S. $Geum$ of $Seokgatap$ was made in the $8^{th}$ century, since it was weaved in weft-faced compound weave twill which was popular in the $8-9^{th}$ century. And also, the arrangement of the colors was done in the same way of gradation $Geum$ silk which was popular in the $7-8^{th}$ C in China and Japan. Third, we restored the pattern of $Geum$ of the Unified Shilla Dynasty for the first time. It was very difficult to figure out the shape and the size of pattern since the fabric was partially lost and ruined. We tried to draw the diagram of structure with the cross point of the warp and the weft to restore the pattern. By doing so, we could identify two kinds of small flower pattern, palmette and the pattern of repeating vines. Fourth, we could infer that the $Geum$ of $Seokgatap$ was used for $geumdae$(a pouch made of $geum$) by analyzing all the documents and the characteristics of the fabric.

A new warp scheduling technique for improving the performance of GPUs by utilizing MSHR information (GPU 성능 향상을 위한 MSHR 정보 기반 워프 스케줄링 기법)

  • GPUs can provide high throughput with latency hiding by executing many warps in parallel. MSHR(Miss Status Holding Registers) for L1 data cache tracks cache miss requests until required data is serviced from lower level memory. In recent GPUs, excessive requests for cache resources cause underutilization problem of GPU resources due to cache resource reservation fails. In this paper, we propose a new warp scheduling technique to reduce stall cycles under MSHR resource shortage. Cache miss rates for each warp is predicted based on the observation that each warp shows similar cache miss rates for long period. The warps showing low miss rates or computation-intensive warps are given high priority to be issued when MSHR is full status. Our proposal improves GPU performance by utilizing cache resource more efficiently based on cache miss rate prediction and monitoring the MSHR entries. According to our experimental results, reservation fail cycles can be reduced by 25.7% and IPC is increased by 6.2% with the proposed scheduling technique compared to loose round robin scheduler.

A Study on the Vibration Characteristics of the Composite Sandwich Beams for High-Speed Heddle Frame (고속 헤들 프레임용 복합재료 샌드위치 보의 진동 특성에 관한 연구)

  • A heddle frame is the major part of a loom that produces woven cloth by insertion of weft yarns between warp yams. Warp yarns are manipulated by many heddles fixed in a heddle frame. Recently, the up and down speed of heddle frames has been increased much for the increase of productivity, which induces higher inertial stresses and vibrations in the heddle frame. The heddle frame has the rectangular cross-section. For the design of box type beams of rectangular cross-section, extensional stiffness EA, flexural stiffness El, and torsional stiffness GJ as well as the vibration characteristics are important and should be simultaneously considered. Tn this paper, the vibration characteristics of the composite and the composite sandwich beams for high-speed heddle frame were tested by impulse frequency response.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEPENDENCE OF WARPS IN SPIRAL GALAXIES

  • We determined the warp parameters of 192 warped galaxies which are selected from 340 edge-on galaxies using color images as well as r-band isophotal maps. We derive the local background density (${\Sigma}_n$) to examine the dependence of the warp amplitudes on the galaxy environment. We find a clear trend that strongly warped galaxies are likely to be found in high density regions where tidal interactions are supposed to be frequent. However, the correlation between ${\alpha}_{\omega}$ and ${\Sigma}_n$ is too weak for weakly warped galaxies (${\alpha}_{\omega}$ < $4^{\circ}$) and the cumulative distributions of weakly warped galaxies are not significantly different from those of galaxies with no detectable warps. This suggests that tidal interactions do not play a decisive role in the formation of weak warps.

Predictions of elastic properties of stitched multi-warped knitted composites (다축경편 복합재료 물성의 스티칭 효과)

  • A micromechanical model for predicting the elastic constants of stitched multi-axial warp knitted (MWK) composite is developed. The averaging method is used to obtain effective properties of stitched MWK fabric composites. In the analysis, a representative volume of the MWK fabric composite is identified. The geometric limitations, effects of stitching yarns and design parameters of MWK fabric composites are considered in the model. Then, the elastic properties of stitched MWK fabric composites are predicted. Finally, the predicted elastic constants are validated by comparison with experimental data. The predicted results are in fair agreement with the experimental results.
