  • In general there occur warpage in one way long part. Warpage is caused by differential shrinkage-Orientation Effect, Volumetric Shrinkage Effect, Differential Cooling Effect -over the part. Deco-Top is located at the top of 29"TV set and it's shape is one way long$(626{\times}130mm)$. Material is used transparency ABS resin. So we can't design ribs in this part. And we use film gate to avoid weld line. In these reasons we must develop no ribs and no warpage product. In this study we use MOLDFLOW's software-MF/FLOW, MF/COOL, MF/WARP. Using MF/FLOW, set the flow balance and gate positioning. And we can set cooling channel layout and the optimum processing condition through MF/COOL and MF/WARP. In result we reduced trials and obtained good product.

  • This research surveys the mechanical properties of worsted fabrics for garment according to the loom characteristics and fabric positions with relation to the warp and weft weaving tensions on the projectile and air-jet looms, which is previously surveyed in the 1st paper. For this purpose, the grey fabrics are processed in dyeing and finishing processes. The mechanical properties of the finished fabrics are measured and discussed with relation to the warp and weft weaving tensions of projectile and air-jet looms and the variations of the fabric mechanical properties according to the fabric positions are also surveyed for investigating the homogeneity of the tailorability and fabric hand.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the crease recovery and the elastic recovery as a function of the direction of plain woven fabrics. The crease recovery was measured by Mosanto's Method and the elastic recovery was investigated by Autograph for ten kinds of plain woven fabric samples. The results were as follows; 1. Values of crease recovery were in the order of bias>weft>warp. 2. The lengthening of recovery time had a little effect on crease recovery. 3. The directions of crease recovery were affected by that of thread twist. 4. The linearity was shown between total crease recovery and warp-weft crease recovery. 5. The linearity was found between crease recovery and elastic recovery in the fabrics.

  • We present our N-body simulation study on the disk galaxy warp formation via close encounters. Using a publicly available code Gadget2, we investigate morphological and kinematical structures of disk galaxies while the galaxies are undergoing fly-by encounters with adjacent dark matter halos. In this study, we find that warps can be excited by impulsive encounters and sustained for a few billion years. Most of the warps from the simulation show inclination angles that are comparable to the observations. The creation of warps, their inclination and their lifetimes are governed primarily by the following three parameters: the impact parameter (the minimum distance between two halos), the mass ratio between two galaxies, and the incoming angle of the intruder. We discuss pros and cons about our alternative scenario in comparison with existing explanations.

  • The floor structure of railway vehicle can deflect and warp due to variation of temperature and humidity at the inside and outside of vehicle. In this study, its temperature and humidity characteristics was investigated experimentally for beam and plate specimen and numerically for the floor structure assembly. The temperature and humidity characteristics of a part were measured and the deformation and stress distribution of the floor structure were calculated using a commercial software. And the warp deformation of the plywood was measured experimentally. The results show that the temperature and humidity effects on the floor structure are the important factor to decide the strength and the quality of the floor structure of railway vehicles.

  • Installation damage of 3 types of geogrids were evaluated with compaction condition. This experimental test was in accordance with ENV ISO 10722-1. Tensile strength of geogrids were decreased with number of cyclic compaction loading without regard to kind of filled material and it was seen that strength decrease tendency showed the dependence on geogrid type. Woven and warp-knitted type geogrids showed the bigger decrease of tensile strength than welded type geogrids.

  • This research surveys the differences of fabric mechanical properties with the different looms and the fabric positions according to the warp and weft yarn tensions on the Vamatex and Omega-Panter looms respectively. For this purpose, the grey fabrics woven by PET filament using two test looms are dyed and finished. The processing shrinkages are measured on each processes such as dryer, scouring, pre-set, dyeing and final-set using the fabric density and width. The mechanical properties of the finished fabrics are measured and discussed with relation to the warp and weft yarn tensions of the two looms and the fabric positions. In addition, the fabric thickness according to the fabric positions such as right, left selvedges and center of the fabrics is also measured and discussed with the characteristics of the Vamatex and Omega-Panter looms.

  • This Study executed the newly developed warp knitted fabrics for the end of living textile materials and investigated the dyeing behavior with the change of drying temperature. There were also analysis of yarn properties in the process of dyeing and finishing. Above all, we examined the influence of touch and softness according to processes. So we can expect the optimum yarn and condition for the better textile goods.
