As a study on the method for energy-saving of the neon sign, this paper has systematically investigated the quantity of energy-consumption of the sign through a long period of time, according to the changes of the sign's ON/OFF speed, time ratio, etc. One neon sign(1 [kW] was built up for this. For this experiment, the ON/OFF periods(T) were set to 1.0,2.0,4.0 and 8.0[sec), and the ON time ratios(D) to 25, 50, 75 and 100 [%] respectively. Energy Analyzer was used for more accurate measurement. As the result, we found that the energy consumption of the sign had no effect on the ON/OFF period (T) when T was more than 2.0(sec), but that the energy consumption was decreasing when T was less than 2.0[sec]. The greatest value in the energy-saving of the sign appeared when the values of T and D were small altogather. And under the conditions, the energy consumption with T=1.0[sec) and D= 25[%] decreased 83.0[%] in comparison with the continuous ON case.
We have carried out high-resolution observations along one-dimensional cuts through the three Galactic super-shells GS 064-01-97, GS 090-28-17, and GS 174+02-64 in the HI 21 cm and CO J=l-0 lines. By comparing the HI data with IRAS data, we have derived the distributions of the $I_{100}$ and $T_{100}$ excesses, which are, respectively, the 100 ${\mu}m$ intensity and 100 ${\mu}m$ optical depth in excess of what would be expected from HI emission. We have found that both the $I_{100}$ and $T_{100}$ excesses have good correlations with the CO integrated intensity W co in all three supershells. But the $I_{100}$ excess appears to underestimate $H_2$ column density N($H_2$) by factors of 1.5-3.8. This factor is the ratio of atomic to molecular infrared emissivities, and we show that it can be roughly determined from the HI and IRAS data. By comparing the $T_{100}$ excess with $W_{co}$, we derive the conversion factor X $\equiv$ N ($H_2$) /$W_{co}{\simeq}$ 0.26 - 0.66 in the three supershells. In GS 090- 28-17, which is a very diffuse shell, our result suggests that the region with N($H_2$) $\le$$3 {\times} 10^{20} cm^{-2}$ does not have observable CO emission, which appears to be consistent with previous results indicating that diffuse molecular gas is not observable in CO. Our results show that the molecular gas has a 60/100 ${\mu}m$ color temperature $T_d$ lower than the atomic gas. The low value of $T_d$ might be due either to the low equilibrium temperature or to the lower abundance of small grains, or a combination of both.
Mobile nodes can't always connect each other in DTNs (delay tolerant networks). Many DTN routing protocols that favor the "multi-hop forwarding" are proposed to solve these network problems. But they also lead to intolerant delivery cost so that designing a overhead-efficient routing protocol which is able to perform well in delivery ratio with lower delivery cost at the same time is valuable. Therefore, we utilize the small-world property and propose a new delivery metric called multi-probability to design our relay node selection principles that nodes with lower delivery predictability can also be selected to be the relay nodes if one of their history nodes has higher delivery predictability. So, we can find more potential relay nodes to reduce the forwarding overhead of successfully delivered messages through our proposed algorithm called HESnW. We also apply our new messages copies allocation scheme to optimize the routing performance. Comparing to existing routing algorithms, simulation results show that HESnW can reduce the delivery cost while it can also obtain a rather high delivery ratio.
An experimental study was conducted to evaluate the viscosity characteristics of multi-grade engine oils in which contain diesel fuels. Unused engine oils of SAE 5W40, 10W40 and 15W40 were blended with a diesel fuel ratio of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The viscosity of a diluted engine oil was measured with temperature variation ranging from $-20^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ using a rotary viscometer. The diluted engine oil in which is blended to a diesel fuel plays an important role for decreasing an engine oil viscosity, which may decrease the oil film thickness and a load-carrying capacity. Test results show that the viscosity tends to fall for the increased temperature when engine oil is mixed with a diesel fuel. Especially, the viscosity at a low temperature zone is radically decreased compared with a high temperature zone. Based on the experimental results, the empirical equation that can predict the viscosity of diluted engine oil is expressed in the exponential function with the variation of the temperature and a fuel ratio of diluted engine oil. This equation may be possible to predict the limitation of the oil-fuel dilution rate at the concept design stage of the CDPF system, which doesn't affect the influence of the tribological components.
Chlorpyrifos, o,o diethyl-o-(3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl) phosphorothioate, is a broad spectrum organophosphate insecticide. The use of chlorpyrifos has been increased more and more as pesticide. But the effects of chlorpyrifos on the immune alterations has not been yet observed. Therefore, we investigated the effects of chlorpyrifos on the immune alterations in CICA male mice. Chlorpyrifos was administered to mice by a single intraperitoneal injection for the purpose of observing acute effects. On the one hand to get the information on immunopathologic alterations we observed hematological values, counted total circulating leukocytes and assessed the ratio of lymphocytes and neutrophils from the peripheral blood, measured the ratio of organ/body weight and counted splenic cellularity in CBA male mice which treated chlorpyrifos intraperitoneally. But we could not find any significant immunopathologic alterations statistically by a single intraperitoneal injection. Also, the exposure of chlorpyrifos caused no significant change in the number of PFC/10$^6$ spleen cells at any three given doses. On the other hand a singte intraperitoneal injection of chlorpyrifos decreased the lymphocyte proliferation response slightly to ConA or LPS stimulation at a dose of 6 mg/kg b.w. Administrations of chlorpyrifos reduced mixed leukocyte response(MLR). MLR was decreased moderately at doses of 3mg/kg b.w. and 6mg/kg b.w. Therefore, all these findings suggest that chlorpyrifos may alter the immune functions acutely. especially by the changes of T lymphocyte activity.

This paper shows the design of the 100 kW IPMSG for small hydraulic power generator. The high-efficient generator, method of the dual layer interior permanent magnet was studied to improve the method of the single layer interior permanent magnet, which is mostly used. Analysis of magnet arrangement and cogging torque was done by FEM. According to structure analysis of dual layer interior permanent magnet, the amount of usage of the permanent magnet was reduced and cogging torque was decreased as well. With these successful results, the high-efficient generator design was accomplished. Based on the results of the structure analysis, the test product was designed and manufactured. And the design values and performance outputs were compared and verified with success. Also, the economic feasibility was conducted based on the electric power generated from the test product installed at the site. By the B/C analysis, in case that only SMP was analyzed, B/C ratio was 1.24 at the discount ratio of 5.5%, which considered to be economically feasible. The study is expected to be used for the application of developing large scale high-efficient interior permanent magnet synchronous generator.
This paper presents a study of the properties and behavior of self-compacting concretes (SCC) in the hot climate. The effect of curing environment and the initial water curing period on the properties and behavior of SCC such as compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) and sorptivity of the SCC specimens were investigated. Three Water/Binder (W/B) ratios (0.32, 0.38 and 0.44) have been used to obtain three ranges of compressive strength. Five curing methods have been applied on the SCC by varying the duration and the conservation condition of SCC. The results obtained on the compressive strength show that the period of initial water curing of seven days followed by maturation in the hot climate is better in comparison with the four other curing methods. The coefficient of sorptivity is influenced by W/B ratio and the curing methods. It is also shown that the sorptivity coefficient of SCC specimens is very sensitive to the curing condition. The SCC specimens cured in water present a low coefficient of sorptivity regardless of the ratio W/B. Furthermore, the results show that there is a good correlation between ultrasonic pulse velocity and the compressive strength.
An experimental study on the Joule-Thomson cryocooler with the mixed refrigerant (MR) is described in this paper, J-T refrigeration experiment was performed with a single stage regular air-conditioning compressor The mixed refrigerant in the experiment was composed of 75% mol fraction of $N_2$. 30% moi fraction of CH$_4$. 30% moi fraction of $C_2$H$_{6}$. 10% mot fraction of $C_3$H$_{8}$ and 15% mot fraction of iso-C$_4$H$_{10}$. Oil mist in the MR stream could be eliminated completely by the glass microfiber filter. Since a single stage compressor that had been designed thor R22 is not appropriate for high Pressure ratio of the mixed refrigerant especially during the transient period. two modifications were incorporated to regular J-T refrigeration cycle. First. a Portion of the MR was by-passed at the inlet of the heat exchanger and transferred directly to 7he suction of the compressor in the modified system. Second, a buffer volume was Prepared to change the mass flow rate of refrigerant. The pressure ratio in J-T expansion device was relieved at the beginning of the operation due to the by-Pass scheme. but it gradually decreased during the transient Process as some of the MR component condensed at low temperature. The buffer volume at the suction side was used to increase the MR gas density in the system after the transient cool-down period. Form the experiment with the modified system, the refrigerator could reach the lowest temperature of -152$^{\circ}C$ without cooling load. and about -15$0^{\circ}C$ with 5 W of cooling load . . . .

In this paper, sixth order hannonic injected PWM for improving‘ input CWTent distortion of single switch t three phase boost converter is presented. Peliodic sixth order hmmonic ${\gamma}$oltage is inj<:ded in the control circuit t to var${\gamma}$ the duty ratio of the converter switch within one switching cycle. In the result, the input phase c currents are forced to track the input voltage and an 해most unity power factor is obtained. Expelimental r results are verified by converter operating at 400V /6kW with three phase 140V ~220V input and by C02 arc w welding machine which was nonlinear load with 3 $\phi$ 220V input.
The paper investigates electrical discharge properties in neon gas mixed with xenon. The breakdown temperature T$\sub$b/ and voltage V$\sub$b/ are obtained in terms of the gas mixture ratio X. It is shown that the breakdown voltage decreases, reaches the minimum value at X=0.02 and then increases again, as the mixture ratio X increases from zero to unity. Therefore, mixing the neon gas with a few percent of xenon is the most beneficial to reduce the breakdown voltage. Plasma density at breakdown in neon gas mixed with xenon is described in terms of the gas mixture ratio. The optimum value of mixture ratio for highest plasma density is found to be Xm=0.03. A preliminary experiment of AC-PDP is carried out for neon gas mixed with a few percent of xenon to verify some of the theoretical models. The experimental data agree qualitatively well with theoretical predictions.
