풍향풍속 검출기 마스트 설계 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Mast Design for Wind Detector)

  • 차기군수지원함(AOE-II) 풍향풍속계 장비에 대해서 항해시운전평가 결과, 함의 우현에서는 40~90도 부근, 좌현에서는 270~320도 부근에서 풍향풍속 검출기 움직임 오작동 현상이 발생되었다. 위의 현상에 대한 원인을 분석하고 개선하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이었다. 원인 추정으로 풍향풍속 검출기가 마스트 구조물에 가려져서 불어오는 바람의 직접적인 영향을 받지 않게 되고, 마스트 구조물 뒤쪽으로 와류 기류가 형성되어 움직임 오작동 현상을 발생시켰다고 추정하였다. 위의 문제를 해결하기 위해서 신규 설치되는 마스트 야드에 풍향풍속 검출기를 이동 설치하는 방안을 검토하였다. 진동 해석을 실시하여 진동 영향성을 검토 후 신규 마스트 야드에 풍향풍속 검출기를 설치하여 항해시운전평가로 검증하였다. 개선 방안이 일부 유효하여, 신규 마스트 야드에서 풍향풍속 검출기 위치를 마스트와 이격하여 이동 설치 후 항해시운전평가로 다시 검증하였다. 풍향풍속 검출기 움직임 오작동 현상이 더 이상 발생하지 않아서 적절한 개선방안으로 확인되었다.

A computer based simulation model for the fatigue damage assessment of deep water marine riser

  • An analysis for the computation of Fatigue Damage Index (FDI) under the effects of the various combination of the ocean loads like random waves, current, platform motion and VIV (Vortex Induced Vibration) for a certain design water depth is a critically important part of the analysis and design of the marine riser platform integrated system. Herein, a 'Computer Simulation Model (CSM)' is developed to combine the advantages of the frequency domain and time domain. A case study considering a steel catenary riser operating in 1000 m water depth has been conducted with semi-submersible. The riser is subjected to extreme environmental conditions and static and dynamic response analyses are performed and the Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) of the offshore platform are computed with the frequency domain solution. Later the frequency domain results are integrated with time domain analysis system for the dynamic analysis in time domain. After that an extensive post processing is done to compute the FDI of the marine riser. In the present paper importance is given to the nature of the current profile and the VIV. At the end we have reported the detail results of the FDI comparison with VIV and without VIV under the linear current velocity and the FDI comparison with linear and power law current velocity with and without VIV. We have also reported the design recommendations for the marine riser in the regions where the higher fatigue damage is observed and the proposed CSM is implemented in industrially used standard soft solution systems (i.e., OrcaFlex*TM and Ansys AQWA**TM), Ms-Excel***TM, and C++ programming language using its object oriented features.

저속(低速) 전.후진(前.後進) 조종(操縱)에 의한 동유체력(動流體力)의 수학(數學)모델 (Mathematical Model for the Hydrodynamic Forces in Forward or Backward Low Speed Maneuvering)

  • 조종운동(操縱運動)의 정확(正確)한 예측(豫測)이 절실(切實)하게 요구되는 항만내(港灣內)에서의 조종운동(操縱運動)과 같이, 저속(低速)이며 또 천수역(淺水域)에서의 선박(船舶)의 조종운동(操縱運動)을 잘 표현(表現)하는 수학(數學) Model은 아직 얻어지지 않고 있는 것이 현재까지의 실정(實情)이라 할 것이다. 일본의 Kose는 저속시(低速時) 선체유체력(船體流體力)의 새로운 Model을 제안(提案)한 바 있으나 아직 그 유용성에 대해서는 다방면(多方面)에서 검토(檢討)가 필요(必要)하다고 할 것이다. 본(本) 논문(論文)은 이러한 현실(現實)에서, 우선 저속시(低速時)의 Hull 유체력(流體力)을 잘 표현(表現)할 수 있는 새로운 방법(方法)을 모색하여 이를 Kose의 Model이나 종래(從來)의 M.M.G.Model 또는 Cross-Flow Drag Model등과 비교하여, 저속시(低速時)의 선체(船體)에 작용(作用)하는 유체력(流體力)을 잘 나타낼 수 있는 Model을 개발하려고 한다. 수학(數學) Model의 우열(優劣)을 판정하는 방법으로서는, 일본의 RR-742부회(部會)에서 실험한 저속시(低速時)($f_n={\pm}0.06,\;U={\pm}0.3m/s$)의 전후진(前後進)에 대한 Bare Hull의 CMT결과로 얻어진 전후력, 횡력, 선회모멘트를 Data로 삼아 이들을 각각 Kose Model, Cross-flow Model, MMG Model 및 신(新) Model에 의하여 Fitting하고, Fitting의 표준편차(標準偏差)를 비교하였다.

쓰로틀밸브 급개방시 기류소음의 4극음원에 대한 정량적 해석 (Quantitative Analysis of Quadrupole Noise Sources upon Quick Opening The Throttle)

  • In recent years, modularization of engine parts has increased the application of plastic products in air intake systems. Plastic intake manifolds provide many advantages including reduced weight, contracted cost, and lower intake air temperatures. These manifolds, however, have some weakness when compared with customary aluminium intake manifolds, in that they have low sound transmission loss because of their lower material density. This low transmission loss of plastic intake manifolds causes several problems related to flow noise, especially when the throttle is opened quickly. The physical processes, responsible for this flow noise, include turbulent fluid motion and relative motion of the throttle to the airflow. The former is generated by high-speed airflow in the splits between the throttle valve and the inner-surface of the throttle body and surge-tank, which can be categorized into the quadrupole source. The latter induces the unsteady force on the flow, which can be classified into the dipole source. In this paper, the mechanism of noise generation from the turbulence is only investigated as a preliminary study. Stochastic noise source synthesis method is adopted for the analysis of turbulence-induced, i.e. quadrupole noise by throttle at quick opening state. The method consists of three procedures. The first step corresponds to the preliminary time-averaged Navier-Stokes computation with a $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model providing mean flow field characteristics. The second step is the synthesis of time-dependent turbulent velocity field associated with quadrupole noise sources. The final step is devoted to the determination of acoustic source terms associated with turbulent velocity. For the first step, we used market available analysis tools such as STAR-CD, the trade names of fluid analysis tools available on the market. The steady state flows at three open angle of throttle valve, i.e. 20, 35 and 60 degree, are numerically analyzed. Then, time-dependent turbulent velocity fields are produced by using the stochastic model and the flow analysis results. Using this turbulent velocity field, the turbulence-originated noise sources, i.e. the self-noise and shear-noise sources are synthesized. Based on these numerical results, it is found that the origin of the turbulent flow and noise might be attributed to the process of formulation and the interaction of two vortex lines formed in the downstream of the throttle valve. These vortex lines are produced by the non-uniform splits between the throttle valve and inner cylinder surface. Based on the analysis, we present the low-noise design of the inner geometry of throttle body.

저 레이놀즈 수에서 실린더 경계 유속조건에 따른 흐름 특성 (Flow Characteristics According to Velocity Conditions of Cylinder Boundary Under Low Reynolds Number)

  • 기존의 천수흐름 해석 상용모형에서는 내부 경계조건을 단순히 완전활동조건으로 가정하여 유체의 흐름을 해석함으로써 구조물 주위에서의 유속, 와도, 수위, 전단력의 분포, 항력 및 양력의 시간에 따른 변화 등을 올바르게 해석하지 못하였다. 본 연구에서는 구조물 주위에서의 흐름특성을 정확하게 예측할 수 있는 유한요소모형을 개발하고, 구조물에서의 경계조건을 활동길이를 이용한 부분활동조건으로 묘사하여 내부경계조건에 따른 원형 실린더 후면에서의 층류 흐름특성을 분석하였다. 종횡방향 유속 및 와도의 시간에 따른 변화, 후류길이, 활동길이에 따른 와류열의 변화와 질량보존율을 비교한 결과 완전활동조건을 부여한 경우에는 와류열이 전혀 형성되지 않고 완전한 층류흐름이 발생하였다. 부분활동조건을 입력한 경우 실린더 표면에서의 유속분포가 변화되어 전단력의 크기와 와도의 발생에 영향을 미치므로 무활조건을 부여한 경우에 비해 와류열의 발생 주기가 짧아졌다. 최대 질량보존 오차는 무활조건을 적용한 경우 0.73%로 나타났으며, 무활조건에 비해 부분활동조건을 부여한 경우의 오차율이 최대 0.21% 감소하였다.

정현파 입구 속도 변동에 따른 열교환기 관군의 유동 및 열전달 특성 (Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Heat Exchanger Tube Bank with the Sinusoidal Inlet Velocity)

  • 열교환기 관군에서 덕트 입구의 속도가 일정한 경우와 정현파로 변하는 경우에 대하여 시간에 따라 배관 주위에서 유동 특성과 열전달 특성 규명을 위해 와류 분포와 온도 분포 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 입구 속도가 정현파 변동이 있는 경우에 열교환기 관군에서 대표적인 원관에서 양력과 항력의 power spectral density를 도출하여 유동 변화에 따른 주파수 특성을 살펴보았다. 입구 유속이 일정한 경우는 열교환기 관군의 입구쪽 관군 부근에서 원관 주위 유동에서 관찰 할 수 있는 칼만 와류를 관찰할 수 있었다. 정현파 입구 속도 변동의 경우에서도 입구쪽 관군에서 칼만 와류가 형성되는 것을 관찰할 수 있었고 정현파 입구 속도 변동에 따른 유동 와류 변화를 관찰할 수 있었다. 온도 분포 변화는 일정한 입구 속도 변화의 경우와 정현파 입구 속도변화의 경우 모두 유동 와류 분포에서 관찰한 것과 유사하게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 유동 주파수는 일정한 입구 속도의 경우는 37.25 Hz이며 정현파 입구 속도의 경우는 정현파 주파수와 동일하게 18.63 Hz으로 나타났다. 열교환기 배관 전체의 평균 Nu수는 일정한 입구 속도의 경우에는 1051이며 정현파 입구 속도 변동의 경우는 1117로 나타나서 정현파로 입구 속도가 변하는 경우의 열전달이 6.3% 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

2D PIV와 stereoscopic PIV 기법으로 측정한 프로펠러 후류의 속도장 비교 연구 (Comparison of Velocity Fields of Wake behind a Propeller Using 2D PIV and stereoscopic PIV)

  • The phase-averaged velocity fields of 3 dimensional turbulent wake behind a marine propeller measured by 2D PIV and stereoscopic PIV(SPIV) were compared directly. In-plane velocity fields obtained from the consecutive particle images captured by one camera in 2D PIV have perspective errors due to out-of-plane motion. However, the perspective errors can be removed by measuring three component velocity fields using SPIV method with two cameras. It is also necessary to measure three components velocity fields for the investigation of complicated near-wake behind the propeller for the suitable propeller design. 400 instantaneous velocity fields were measured for each of four different blade phases of $0^{\circ},\;18^{\circ},\;36^{\circ}C\;and\;54^{\circ}$. They were ensemble averaged to investigate the spatial evolution of the propeller wake in the downstream region. The phase-averaged velocity fields show the viscous wake developed along the blade surfaces and tip vortices were formed periodically. The perspective errors caused by the out-of-plane motion was estimated by the comparison of 2D PIV and SPIV results. The difference in the axial mean velocity fields measured by both techniques are nearly proportional to the mean out-of-plane velocity component which has large values in the regions of the tip and trailing vortices. The axial turbulence intensity measured by 2D PIV was overestimated since the out-of-plane velocity fluctuations influence the in-plane velocity vectors and increase the in-plane turbulence intensities.

Review of seismic studies of liquid storage tanks

  • The academic research works about liquid storage tanks are reviewed for the purpose of providing valuable reference to the engineering practice on their aseismic design. A summary of the performance of tanks during past earthquakes is described in this paper. Next, the seismic response of tanks under unidirectional earthquake is reported, supplemented with the dynamic response under multidirectional motions. Then, researches on the influence of soil-structure interaction are brought out to help modify the seismic design approach of tanks in different areas with variable properties of soils. Afterwards, base isolation systems are reported to demonstrate their effectiveness for the earthquake-resistant design of liquid storage tanks. Further, researches about the liquid-structure interaction are reviewed with description of simplified models and numerical analytical methods, some of which consider the elastic effect of tank walls. Moreover, the liquid sloshing phenomenon on the hydrodynamic behaviors of tanks is presented by various algorithms including grid-based and meshfree method. And then the impact of baffles in changing the dynamic characteristics of the liquid-structure system is raised, which shows the energy dissipation by the vortex motion of liquid. In addition, uplifting effect is given to enhance the understanding on the capacity of unanchored tanks and some assessment of their development. At last, the concluding remarks and the aspects of extended research in the field of liquid storage tanks under seismic loads are provided, emphasizing the thermal stress analysis, the replaceable system for base isolation, the liquid-solid interaction and dynamic responses with stochastic excitations.

Hybrid Cartesian/Immersed Boundary 법을 이용한 2차원 변형날개 주위 점성유동 해석 (Numerical Simulation of a Viscous Flow Field Around a Deforming Foil Using the Hybrid Cartesian/Immersed Boundary Method)

  • A code is developed to simulate a viscous flow field around a deformable body using the hybrid Cartesian/immersed boundary method. In this method, the immersed boundary(IB) nodes are defined near the body boundary then velocities at the IB nodes are reconstructed based on the interpolation along the normal direction to the body surface. A new method is suggested to define the IB nodes so that a closed fluid domain is guaranteed by a set of IB nodes and the method is applicable to a zero-thickness body such as a sail. To validate the developed code, the vorticity fields are compared with other recent calculations where a cylinder orbits and moves into its own wake. It is shown the code can handle a sharp trailing edge at Reynolds number of $10^5$ under moderate requirements on girds. Finally the developed code is applied to simulate the vortex shedding behind a deforming foil with flapping tail like a fish. It is shown that the acceleration of fluids near the flapping tail contributes to the generation of the thrust for propulsion.

병렬로 배열된 두 개의 원형 실린더 유동에서 입자의 분산과 부착 해석 (SIMULATION OF PARTICLE DISPERSION AND DEPOSITION IN FLOW AROUND TWO CIRCULAR CYLINDERS IN A SIDE-BY-SIDE ARRANGEMENT)

  • Numerical simulations are carried out for the fluid flow and particle transport around two nearby circular cylinders in a side-by-side arrangement. The present study aims to understand the effects of the particle Stokes number and the spacing between two cylinders on particle dispersion and deposition characteristics. Simulations are based on an Eulerian-Lagrangian approach where the motion of particles is calculated by a Lagrangian approach based on one-way coupling. Results show that the flow structure is very different depending on the cylinder spacing, eventually affecting the overall pattern of particle dispersion significantly. It is also found that particles with smaller Stokes number tend to be distributed more uniformly in the wake of two cylinders, being located even inside the vortex cores. Meanwhile, particle deposition is analyzed in terms of the deposition efficiency and deposition location. The deposition efficiency of particles strongly depends on the Stokes number, whereas it is slightly affected by the cylinder spacing. The deposition location gets wider as the Stokes number increases, and it becomes asymmetric about the center of each cylinder as the cylinders get close.
