This paper proposes a voltage compensation device direct control strategy to realize the distributed, autonomous voltage control of the distribution system, which based on voltage data collected from customers of the remote site under the ubiquitous-based distribution system. In the proposed method, The ULTC and the SVR(Step Voltage Regulator)s compensate autonomously the voltage for self-compensation area based on the voltage data furnished from the ubiquitous device of customers. Also, the SVRs overcome the limit of single-operation of ULTC by the interlocking operation with the ULTC and enhance the voltage compensation capability for the customer. In particular, an optimization design method and a fuzzy design method are compared to determine the effective control method of the voltage compensator under the ubiquitous-based on-line operation environments. In fuzzy method, the tap of voltage compensator is defined as output member. Finally, the proposed two methods are implemented in Visual C++ MFC, the effectiveness is proved by simulation based on the worst virtual voltage data. Also, an optimal voltage compensation strategy is determined under on-line environments based on analyzed results.
This paper proposes an on-line voltage management and control solution for a distribution system which can improve the efficiency and accuracy of existing off-line work by collecting customer voltage on-line as well as the voltage compensation capability of the existing ULTC (Under Load Tap Changer) operation and control strategy by controlling the ULTC tap based on pattern clustering and recognition. The proposed solution consists of an ADVMD (Advanced Digital Voltage Management Device), a VMS (Voltage Management Solution) and an OLDUC (On-Line Digital ULTC Controller). An on-line voltage management emulator based on multi-thread programming and the shared memory method is developed to emulate on-line voltage management and digital ULTC control methodology based on the on-line collection of the customer's voltage. In addition, using this emulator, the effectiveness of the proposed pattern clustering and recognition based ULTC control strategy is proven for the worst voltage environments for three days.
Input series output independent (ISOI) dc-dc converter systems are suitable for high voltage input and multiple output applications with low voltage rating switches. This paper proposes a novel control strategy consisting of one output voltage regulating (OVR) control loop and n-1 (n is the number of modules in the ISOI system) input voltage sharing (IVS) control loops. An ISOI system with the proposed control strategy can be applied to applications where the output loads of each module are the same. Under these conditions, IVS can be achieved and output voltages copying can be realized in an ISOI system. In this control strategy there is only one controller for each module and the design process of the control loops is simple. Since no central controller is needed in the system, modularity of the system is improved. The operation principle of the new control strategy is introduced and the control effect is simulated. Then the output power and voltage characteristics of an ISOI system under this new control strategy are analyzed. The stability of the proposed control strategy is explored base on a Hurwitz criterion, and the design guide line of the control strategy is given. A two module ISOI system prototype is fabricated and tested in the laboratory. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
The ultrasonic motor(USM) has good characteristics such as compact size, silent motion, low speed, high torque and high speed response. The USM is driven by 2-phase AC electricity. The control parameters of USM are voltage, phase difference, frequency of input power, etc. In this paper, we propose voltage difference control. And we designed USM controller to adjust voltage and phase using pLSI(programmable Large Scale Integration). Voltage difference control has many advantages that are lower current, lower power than phase difference control. Especially there is nearly zero ampere at the zero point of speed and torque. we can apply this voltage difference control to the compliance control of DD manipulator.

This paper presents DC voltage recovery time improvement method in DC link of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) with offshore wind farm. The wind farm should be satisfied Low Voltage Ride Through(LVRT) control strategy when grid faults occur. The LVRT control strategy indicates actions which have to be executed according to the voltage dip ratio and the fault duration. However, The LVRT control strategy makes between wind farm and power system through DC Link voltage when grid fault occurs. The de-loading scheme is one of the method to control the DC voltage. But de-loading scheme need to long DC voltage recovery time. Thus, this paper proposes an improved de-loading scheme and we analysis DC voltage and active power reference through a simulation.

This paper presents target operation voltage guidelines of each voltage control area considering both voltage stability and economical efficiency in real power system. EMS(Energy Management System) data, Real-time simulator, shows not only voltage level but lots of information about real power system. Also this paper performs optimal power flow calculation of three objective functions to propose the best target operation voltage. objective function of interchange power flow maximum and active power loss minimization stand for economical efficiency index and reactive power reserve maximum objective unction represents stability index. Then through simulation result using optimazation technique, the most effective objective function is chosen. To sum up, this paper divides voltage control area into twelve considering electric distance characteristics and estimate or voltage level by the passage of time of EMS peak data. And through optimization technique target operation voltage of each voltage control area is estimated and compare heir result. Then it is proposed that the best scenario to keep up voltage stability and maximize economical efficiency in real power system.

This paper presents a new method of local voltage control to achieve coordinative control among UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) and conventional reactive compensation equipments, such as switched-shunt and ULTC(Under-Load Tap Changing) transformer. Reactive power control has various difficult aspects to control because of difficulty of system analysis. Recently, the progress of power electronics technologies has lead to commercial availability of several FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) devices. The UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) simultaneously allows the independent control of active and reactive power flows as well as control of the voltage profile. When conventional reactive power sources and UPFC are used to control system voltage, the UPFC reacts to the voltage deviation faster than the conventional reactive power sources. Keeping reactive power reserve in an UPFC during steady-state operation is always needed to provide reactive power requirements during emergencies. Therefore, coordination control among UPFC and conventional reactive power sources is needed. This paper describe the method to keep or control the voltage of power system of local area and to manege reactive power reserve using PSS/E with Python. The result of simulation shows that the proposed method can control the local bus voltage within the given voltage limit and manege reactive power reserve.
In order to further improve the steady-state control performance of model predictive torque control (MPTC), a double-vector-based model predictive torque control without a weighting factor is proposed in this paper. The extended voltage vectors synthesized by two basic voltage vectors are used to increase the number of feasible voltage vectors. Therefore, the control precision of the torque and the stator flux along with the steady-state performance can be improved. To avoid testing all of the feasible voltage vectors, the solution of deadbeat torque control is calculated to predict the reference voltage vector. Thus, the candidate voltage vectors, which need to be evaluated by a cost function, can be reduced based on the sector position of the predicted reference voltage vector. Furthermore, a cost function, which only includes a reference voltage tracking error, is designed to eliminate the weighting factor. Moreover, two voltage vectors are applied during one control period, and their durations are calculated based on the principle of reference voltage tracking error minimization. Finally, the proposed method is tested by simulations and experiments.
This paper shows the design and control methods of the bidirectional DC-DC converter to generate the proper DC-link voltage of a PMSM drive. Conventionally, because the controllable power of the PWM based voltage source inverter is limited by its DC-link voltage, the DC-DC converter is used for boosted DC-link voltage if the inverter source cannot generate enough operating voltage for the PMSM drive. In this paper, to obtain more utilization of this DC-DC converter, optimal DC-link voltage control for PMSM drive will be explained. First, the process and current path of the DC-DC converter will be illustrated, and a control method of this converter for variable DC-link voltage will then be explained. Finally, an improvement analysis of the optimal DC-link voltage control method, especially on the deadtime effect, will be explained. The DC-DC converter of the proposed control method is verified by the experiments by comparing with the conventional constant voltage control method.
This paper proposes a multimode hybrid control strategy that can achieve zero-voltage switching of primary switches and zero-current switching of secondary rectifier diodes in a wide input voltage range for full-bridge LLC resonant converters. When the input voltage is lower than the rated voltage, the converter operates in Mode 1 through the variable-frequency control strategy. When the input voltage is higher than the rated voltage, the converter operates in Mode 2 through the VF and phase-shift control strategy until the switching frequency reaches the upper limit. Then, the converter operates in Mode 3 through the constant-frequency and phase-shift control strategy. The secondary-side diode current will operate in the discontinuous current mode in Modes 1 and 3, whereas it will operate in the boundary current mode in Mode 2. The current RMS value and conduction loss can be reduced in Mode 2. A detailed theoretical analysis of the operation principle, the voltage gain characteristics, and the realization method is presented in this paper. Finally, a 500 W prototype with 100-200 V input voltage and 40 V output voltage is built to verify the feasibility of the multimode hybrid control strategy.
