  • The purpose of this study was to identify the psychometric properties of the vocational ability scale used in the 8th Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled in Korea by using the Rasch model. The sample data was collected from 398 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Item fitness, item difficulty, the appropriateness of the rating scale, and the separation index of the vocational ability scale were evaluated. All 15 items show an appropriate fitness level. The analysis of item difficulty indicate that modifications are required. Specifically, the need for the addition of less difficult question items is identified. The use of a 5-point rating scale is shown to decrease the test difficulty in terms of clarity and readability when appropriate and a 4-point modification is also determined as appropriate. With respect to the outcomes of the analysis, the person separation reliability value and separation index are high, and the reliability of the items is also high.

The subjects were 110 pre-preschool teachers attended in D university located in Kyonggido. 'NCS basic vocational competencies scale', 'Teaching Personality and Aptitude scale', and 'DISC behavior type scale' were used in the collection of data. It used Pearson's correlation Analysis to analyze the data. The results of this study are as follows; first, there was positive correlations between dominance trait and mathematical competency. And, there was positive correlations between interaction trait and self-development competency. And there were negative correlations between support traits and NCS basic vocational competencies. Second, it was revealed that positive correlations between almost sub scale's of NCS basic vocational competencies and teacher teaching personality aptitude. Third, there was positive correlations between dominance trait and sub scale of teaching personality aptitude(e.g.: problem solving/ inquiry skills, judgment, creativity/practical ability, leadership, knowledge/information ability, planning ability, sincerity/responsibility). And there were negative correlations between support traits and sub scale of teaching personality aptitude(e.g.: problem solving/ inquiry skills, judgment, creativity/practical ability, leadership, sincerity/responsibility).

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability level of the occupational Basic Competencies of Fisheries and Maritime(F&M) high school students using F&M basic skills scale. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the level was analyzed with the Fisheries and Maritime ability scale, comparing each grade level & department. This study was applied to the literature and research methods. This research was conducted collecting preliminary data from 1,113 F&M high school freshman and sophomore students. This survey of 46 questions was used to measure for F&M ability scale-divided into 6 areas-marine vocational ethics, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, marine safety management skill, management & utilization marine life and marine consciousness. The results of this study were as follows; First, in F&M high school students' competencies, marine vocational ethics, marine consciousness was higher, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, marine safety management skill were middle, management & utilization marine life was lower. Second, in the grade level, 5 competencies(marine vocational ethics, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, management & utilization life and marine consciousness) were not different, but 2 Grade was higher than 1 Grade in the marine safety management skill. Third, comparing F&M department, Maritime department were higher than fisheries in 5 competencies. But, fisheries department was higher than maritime in the management & utilization life competencies.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the vocational rehabilitation evaluation tool for the mentally disabled. Methods : For literature search, the Pubmed database was used, and for the analysis, the development year, evaluation method, number of items, scale, and evaluation items were analyzed. In the analysis method, each evaluation item was divided into four categories: function, internal factor, environment, and mental symptom, and the evaluation elements of each evaluation tool were identified. Results : When searching Pubmed through search terms, 161 documents were retrieved. According to the selection method, Griffiths Work Behavior Scale (GWBS), Occupational Functioning Scale (OFS), Social and Occupational Functioning Assessment Scale (SOFAS), Work Ability Index (WAI), Work Behavior Inventory (WBI), Work Environment Impact Scale (WEIS), and Work and Social Adjustment Scale (WSAS) were screened. The evaluation items of all evaluation tools included job-related functional evaluation. According to the purpose of each evaluation tool, internal factors, environment, and mental symptoms were measured. Conclusion : Occupational skills are skills in which various functions such as physical, cognitive, social skills, and coping skills act in a complex way. Therefore, it is necessary to include the four factors analyzed in this study: function, internal factors, environment, and psychiatric symptoms.

  • Forestry education in vocational high schools is one of the fundamental keys for achieving sustainable forest management. However, support systems for forestry education have not been well developed in Japan. Forest research institutes, which have accumulated relevant information, should have sufficient ability to develop new educational programs in this field. This study examined the possibility of support systems for forestry technical education by a research institute. Educational programs for vocational high schools were developed, and the programs were examined for their practical applications through a workshop for these teachers. We set the following five requirements for the programs: They should 1) incorporate new contents related to sustainable forest management, 2) be based on forestry education textbooks, 3) meet recent demands of the schools and society, 4) allow participants to learn through actual practice and experience, and 5) utilize readily available teaching materials. With these criteria, we developed the following two educational programs: (a) Forest management program to teach advanced techniques, (b) A timber-program to teach about biomass resources. The workshop was held on July $28^{th}$, 2007 with ten teachers attending. The programs were very interesting, who gave them high average evaluation of 4.6 on a scale of 1 to 5. Only a few issues need to be resolved before classroom instruction can begin, such as making wood structure easier to understanding for some teachers, and obtaining base maps of school forests. In conclusion, forest research institutes can effectively support forestry education by providing and implementing programs based on scientific information.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the level of drug dose calculations and confidence of nursing students who completed fundamental nursing. After receiving informed consent, questionnaires and drug dose calculation paper of 152 subjects were collected. The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The $mean{\pm}SD$ of drug dose calculations was $7.46{\pm}1.97$ on a scale of 10, the mean score of male students was higher than female's(t=3.64, p=.001), and the mean score of science was higher than vocational's according to high school departments(F=5.11, p=.007). In the score of confidence, the $mean{\pm}SD$ was $4.12{\pm}1.12$ on a scale of 6, the mean score of male students was higher than female's(t=8.94, p=.001), and the science was higher than humanity or vocational(F=6.28, p=.002). There was a positive correlation between drug dose calculation and confidence scores(r= .32, p=.001), and explanation rate of confidence on drug dose calculation was 10.2%(p=0.001) in regression analysis. This suggests that nursing students need to improve drug dose calculation ability by strengthening confidence.
