성인 편마비 환자에서 시각 되먹임과 청각 되먹임이 체중 지지에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Auditory and Visual Feedback on Symmetric Weight Bearing with Hemiplegia)

  • Objectives : Asymmetrical weight bearing during standing has been identified as a common problem in persons with hemiplegia. This study examined the effect of auditory and visual feedback on symmetric weight bearing with hemiplegia. Method: The intervention program was instituted for 10 min each day with a total of twelve treatment sessions. The machine which was used for this study is the Weight Balancer, OG GIKEN, WB-202, Japan Result: There was a significant improvement of symmetric weight distribution in auditory feedback group whereas the visual feedback group disclosed some improvement but not significantly. There was no significant change in control group. Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that an auditary feedback group can be more effective than visual feedback group or control group in helping the persons with hemiplegia achieve symmetric stance.

할로잉 운동 시 시각적 피드백 방법에 따른 복근 두께에 미치는 영향 비교 (Comparison of the Abdominal Muscle Thickness during Abdominal Hollowing Exercise According to the Visual Feedback Method)

  • PURPOSE: Selective strengthening of the transverse abdominis muscle (TrA) during abdominal hollowing makes an important contribution to the stability and control of the spine. This study examined the effects of abdominal hollowing exercise (AHE) according to the visual feedback method on the external oblique, internal oblique, and transverse abdominis muscles. METHODS: Twenty healthy subjects were assigned randomly to an AHE with visual feedback from real-time ultrasound image (group A, n = 10), AHE with visual feedback with pressure biofeedback unit (group B, n = 10). Both groups underwent 20 min of AHE with visual feedback once daily, five days/week for two weeks. The changes in the muscle thickness of the TrA, internal oblique abdominal muscle (IO), and external oblique abdominal muscle (EO) were measured by ultrasonography. RESULTS: The thickness of TrA was changed significantly in both groups (p < .05). However, the lowest minimal detectable changes were achieved in Group A. The thickness of the IO and EO muscles in group A was changed significantly, but there were no significant changes in group B. CONCLUSION: Both visual feedback methods were effective for strengthening the TrA muscles selectively. Nevertheless, AHE with visual feedback using real-time ultrasound images may be more useful in trA muscle contraction.

시·촉각 되먹임이 넙다리네갈래근 등척성 운동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Visual and Tactile Feedback on Quadriceps Isometric Exercise)

  • Physical therapists have been using biofeedback training to induce improvements in various circumstances. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of visual and tactile feedback using electrical stimulation on quadriceps strength. Nineteen women without known impairment of the neuromusculoskeletal system volunteered for this study. Subjects were randomly allocated into three groups: visual feedback, tactile feedback, and control group. The torque of isometric knee extension force was measured. Subjects were asked to exert the maximal isometric contraction force of quadriceps over a 30 second period. The resting period of 10 minutes was given after the maximal isometric contraction to avoid the muscle fatigue. In between groups comparison, significant differences of the peak torque and the torque area were found on the performance of the maximal isometric contraction of quadriceps (p<.05). The values peak of torque and torque area were significantly higher during visual feedback than tactile feedback. The results of this study suggest that visual feedback is more powerful than tactile feedback (p<.01).

  • We developed a biofeedback gait training system; a 12 m measuring walkway with a training walker which moves at prescribed velocity. The walkway measures a.11 temporal and distance factors of gait. This system provides visual feedback for distance factors and auditory one for temporal at the prescribed walking velocity. Experiments were performed on normal and degenerative knee joint subjects, and this system was verified to be very useful.

  • 본 논문에서는 항문 괄약근 전용 근전도 센서(Intra-Anal Sensor)를 항문내에 삽입한 후 운동을 하면 시스템 하드웨어와 연결된 80C196KC 마이크로 콘트롤러와 프로그램에 의해서 LED Display 및 스피커 출력을 통해 괄약근 근전도 신호의 크기를 나타내 주며, 컴퓨터와 직접 연결하면 PC상의 모니터 출력을 통해 보다 손쉽게 환자의 상태를 알아볼 수 있도록 Visual C 프로그램을 사용한 윈도우 프로그램을 구현하였다.

생체되먹임을 통한 삼킴훈련이 삼킴장애가 있는 급성기 뇌졸중 환자의 삼킴기능과 만족감에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Swallowing Training with Biofeedback on Swallowing Function and Satisfaction in Acute Stroke Patients with Dysphagia)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 표면 근전도 생체되먹임을 통한 삼킴훈련이 삼킴장애가 있는 급성기 뇌졸중 환자의 삼킴기능과 식이수준, 만족감에 미치는 효과를 알고자 하였다. 본 연구는 뇌졸중 후 삼킴장애 환자 16명이 참여하였다. 모든 대상자는 실험군과 대조군으로 8명씩 무작위 할당되었다. 두 군은 4주간 주 5회, 하루 30분의 전통적 삼킴장애 치료를 받았다. 실험군은 표면 근전도 생체되먹임을 통한 삼킴훈련을 30분을 추가적으로 수행하였으며, 대조군은 삼킴훈련을 30분 수행하였다. 평가는 삼킴기능을 확인하기 위하여 기능적 삼킴장애 척도와 침습-흡인 척도를 통하여 측정하였으며, 식이수준은 기능적 구강 섭취 척도를 이용하였다. 중재 후, 각 치료 만족감을 평가하기 위하여 시각상사 만족감 척도를 이용하여 측정하였다. 연구결과, 실험군과 대조군은 중재 전과 후로 삼킴기능과 식이수준에서 유의한 향상을 보였다(p<0.05). 중재 후, 두 군간의 치료 만족도는 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>0.05). 두 군 간 변화량 비교에서 실험군은 대조군보다 식이수준에서 유의한 향상을 보였다(p<0.05). 표면 근전도 생체되먹임을 통한 삼킴훈련은 삼킴장애가 있는 급성기 뇌졸중 환자의 식이수준 향상에 효과적인 치료법으로 사료된다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a visual feedbackbased balance training, using force platform biofeedback, on the postural balance of elderly faller. Methods: Fifty one community-dwelling older adults (aged 66-88 years) with a recent history of fall participated in the study. Participants were randomized to an experimental group (EG, n=25) and to a control group (CG, n=26). The EG participated in training sessions three times/week for 6 weeks. Visual feedbackbased balance training with the a computerized force platform with visual feedback screen was used in the experimental group. Static balance (center of gravity) and dynamic balance (Functional reach test, Timed "Up & Go" test, Berg balance scale) were assessed before and after end of training. Results: A significant improvement in static balance and dynamic balance were demonstrated within the EG (p<.05), but not in the CG. Conclusion: Visual feedback-based balance training may be an effective intervention to improve postural balance of elderly fallers.

시각되먹임 훈련이 소뇌 실조증 환자의 균형과 일상생활 수행에 미치는 영향 : 사례보고 (The Effect of Visual Feedback Training on Balance and ADL in Cerebellar Ataxia : Case Report)

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 소뇌 실조증 환자에게 시각되먹임 프로그램 훈련을 적용 후 균형과 일상생활수행에 어떠한 변화를 나타내는지 확인해 보고자 한다. 연구방법 : 대전 모 재활병원에서 소뇌 실조증으로 진단받고 입원 중인 대상자 1명을 대상으로 주 5회기씩 총 2주간에 걸쳐 중재를 시행하였고, 사후 2주를 포함하여 총 4주간 실시하였다. 중재 전 후, 사후 균형의 변화를 확인하기 위하여 BIORescue 프로그램을 활용하여 안정성의 한계(Limit of stability; LOS)와 롬버그 검사를 시행하였고, 다른 균형평가로는 버그 균형척도를 시행하였다. 일상생활수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 COPM을 실시하여 분석하였다. 결과 : 소뇌 실조증 환자에게 안정성의 한계와 롬버그 검사, 버그 균형척도에서 중재 후 변화를 확인하였고, 유지가 되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 일상생활수행에서도 목욕하기, 이동하기, 교통수단의 이용, 세탁하기, 모임활동 5개 영역 모두 수행도와 만족도가 향상 되었다. 결론 : 소뇌 실조증 환자에게 균형향상을 위하여 시각되먹임 프로그램이 유용하게 적용되어질 수 있을 것으로 보여 진다.

The Effects of Visual Biofeedback Balance Training on Functional Ability in Children with Cerebral Palsy : A Pilot Study

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of balance training on a three-dimensional balance trainer that provides the up-and-down vertical movement of the knee joint and left-and-right horizontal movement, along with visual feedback on the functional ability of children with spastic cerebral palsy (CPs). METHODS: 8 CPs participated in this study. The experiment was implemented for 40 minutes, three times a week for a total of six weeks. The subjects received general physiotherapy for 15 minutes in each session focused on balance and walking, as based on the neuro-developmental treatment theory. Balance training was performed for 20 minutes on a three-dimensional balance trainer where knee joint movement providing visual feedback is applied. The evaluations were conducted before and after the test, and posture sway was measured using 10 Meter Walking Test (10MWT), Timed Up & Go Test (TUG), and the Good Balance System to evaluate the functional ability and balance of the subjects RESULTS: 10MWT was not statistically significant (p>.05). On the contrary, TUG and postural sway indicate static balance showed a statistically significant decrease (p<.05). In a static balance test using the Good Balance System, the average moving speed statistically significantly decreased in the AP and ML directions (p<.05), and the mean velocity moment also significantly decreased (p<.05). CONCLUSION: These findings suggested that balance training using the three-dimensional balance trainer, with the features of visual feedback and up-and-down knee joint movement effects on increasing dynamic and static balance.

RBF 커널과 다중 클래스 SVM을 이용한 생리적 반응 기반 감정 인식 기술 (Physiological Responses-Based Emotion Recognition Using Multi-Class SVM with RBF Kernel)

  • Emotion Recognition is one of the important part to develop in human-human and human computer interaction. In this paper, we have focused on the performance of multi-class SVM (Support Vector Machine) with Gaussian RFB (Radial Basis function) kernel, which has been used to solve the problem of emotion recognition from physiological signals and to improve the accuracy of emotion recognition. The experimental paradigm for data acquisition, visual-stimuli of IAPS (International Affective Picture System) are used to induce emotional states, such as fear, disgust, joy, and neutral for each subject. The raw signals of acquisited data are splitted in the trial from each session to pre-process the data. The mean value and standard deviation are employed to extract the data for feature extraction and preparing in the next step of classification. The experimental results are proving that the proposed approach of multi-class SVM with Gaussian RBF kernel with OVO (One-Versus-One) method provided the successful performance, accuracies of classification, which has been performed over these four emotions.
