A Study on Visual Behavior for Presenting Consumer-Oriented Information on an Online Fashion Store

  • Growth in online channels has created fierce competition; consequently, retailers have to invest an increasing amount of effort into attracting consumers. In this study, eye-tracking technology examined consumers' visual behavior to gain an understanding of information searching behavior in exploring product information for fashion products. Product attribute information was classified into two image-based elements (model image information and detail image information) and two text-based elements (basic text information, detail text information), after which consumers' visual behavior for each information element was analyzed. Furthermore, whether involvement affects consumers' information search behavior was investigated. The results demonstrated that model image information attracted visual attention the quickest, while detail text information and model image information received the most visual attention. Additionally, high-involvement consumers tended to pay more attention to detailed information while low-involvement consumers tended to pay more attention to image-based and basic information. This study is expected to help broaden the understanding of consumer behavior and provide implications for establishing strategies on how to efficiently organize product information for online fashion stores.

Human Visual Intelligence and the New Territory of Educational Technology Research

  • The general aim of this article is to explicate what can be researched in our field based on the new understanding on the ability of human visual intelligence. To follow this aim, three key discussions were followed. The first is to explain why the human visual intelligence research is so important in our field and how it was neglected. The basic orientations of the research questions used in its framing and in answering are reviewed. After reviewing traditional research orientations, as the second discussion, alternative, more useful perspective for thinking about human visual intelligence is suggested. And the possibility of contribution for the future research in general is discussed. In doing so, human visual intelligence was defined in rather practically oriented ways rather than theoretically oriented ones. More practical perspectives were suggested. The third discussion is to show how to use the alternative perspectives of human visual intelligence in the areas of educational technology research. It was hoped that the article lays out conceptual groundwork for generation of educational technology research frameworks which can be used for the research conduct, reproduction and sharing by adopting practically oriented views on human visual intelligence as a new territory of educational technology research.

  • 컴퓨터 언어를 배우는 학습자는 다양한 분야에 적합한 프로그래밍 언어를 배우고 텍스트 기반으로 된 프로그래밍을 하는 것이 매우 어렵다고 생각한다. 이러한 문제를 쉽게 풀기 위한 한 방법이 프로그램을 비주얼로 표현하는 것이다. 기존의 시각 프로그래밍인 Visual C++, Visual Basic, Delphi와 같은 비주얼 언어는 외부 인터페이스는 비주얼 컴포넌트로 표현되고 컴포넌트의 작동에 대해서는 텍스트 기반으로 표현한다. 이러한 프로그램을 배우는 학습자들은 컴포넌트 작동에 대한 텍스트 프로그래밍에 대해 어려워하고 있으며 프로그래밍을 싫어하는 한 요소가 되었다. 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 논리적 사고를 표현하면서 객체지향을 지원하기 위해 UML을 도입하고 텍스트 프로그래밍 요소를 비주얼 프로그래밍 요소로 대체하기 위해 객체지향을 지원하는 LabVIEW OOP를 사용하여 학습자들에게 프로그래밍 교육을 하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 제시된 프로그래밍 교육 방법에 대해 설문조사를 실시하여 교육적인 효과를 분석하였다.

국내 자치단체의 커뮤니티아이덴티티 디자인에 관한 연구 - 시각요소 중 기본요소의 현황분석을 중심(中心)으로 - (A Study on the Community Identity Design of Local Self-government Bodies -Focusing on the Analysis on the Basic Visual Elements-)

  • 국내 각 지방자치단체의 커뮤니티아이덴티티 (community identity) 프로그램은 지역 활성화를 중요한 목적으로 한다. 커뮤니티아이덴티티는 타 지자체들과 차별화 된 이미지를 확립하고 동시에 지역주민의 애향심과 소속감을 높일 수 있는 매우 효과적인 방법 중 하나이다. 커뮤니티아이덴티티 외에도 지방자치단체의 아이덴티티를 형성하는 요소로서 꽃, 새, 동물 등의 각 지자체 상징물이나 그 지역과 연고가 있는 인물, 전통, 특산물 등을 시각화한 캐릭터가 있다. 최근에는 시티브랜드와 같은 마케팅지향의 브랜드 계획, 지역이벤트 등 다양한 프로그램들을 도입하고 있다. 본 연구는 현재 도입된 국내 지방자치단체 커뮤니티아이덴티티의 시각요소 중 심벌마크, 로고타입, 색상 등의 가장 기본적인 요소와 각 지자체의 상징물, 캐릭터의 시각요소 현황을 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과 각 지방자치단체의 커뮤니티아이덴티티 및 기타 디자인요소들의 차별성이 부족하고 여러 시각 요소들 간의 일관성도 결여된 것으로 나타났다. 지방자치단체의 차별화 된 이미지 형성을 위해서는 지역이 갖고 있는 보다 특색 있고 다양한 소재 개발과 커뮤니티아이덴티티를 중심으로 여러 시각요소들의 일관성과 상호작용을 통한 시너지효과를 유도해야 할 것이다.

Application Research on the Evaluation Index System of Visual Anthropology : based on Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process

  • This paper introduces the development and current prosperity of the branch discipline of visual anthropology and describes the status and current situation of modern visual anthropology and analyzes the rationality that the achievements of visual anthropology is viewed as texts and enjoy the same achievements, making it more basis and scientific in the selection of visual anthropology in subsequent research. This article comprehensively uses Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process to construct an evaluation system of visual anthropology, as well as put forward the basic principles of screening films using this evaluation system in subsequent studies and a simple outlook for future expansion.

자연경과지 내에서 정자의 시각적 영향에 관한 연구 (A study on the Visual Impact of Pavilions In Natural Landscapes)

  • The purpose of this thesis is to suggest basic objective data for landscape planning and design through the quantitative analysis of the visual impact of pavilion situated in natural landscapes. For this, naturality and visual preference scores of landscape s1ides were measured by questionnaires, visual volumes of pavilion in the natural landscape were evaluated using the Mesh analysis and images structure was analyzed by the factor analysis algorithm The results of this thesis can be summarized as follow. Landscape slides No. 27 and 9 were ranked more highly for naturality, and slides No.22, 28, 6 and 4 were ranked more highly for visual preference. Factors covering the spatial image of the natural landscape were found to be the evaluation, the tidiness and the space volume. By using the control method for the number of factors, T. V., were obtained as 59.0%. For all experimental landscape slides, the factors of evaluation and tidiness were found to be the main factors determining the naturality and visual preference. The naturality and actor scores and the visual preference and factor scores were found to exepress the regression relation.

  • The article examines one of the most important means of visualization of mass information on the Internet - information graphics in the broadest sense of the term as a visual technology for presenting mass information. The main objectives of the article are to determine the genre-typological features of infographics and basic technological principles; identification of features of creation and use of information graphics in modern network. Certain benefits of online infographic editors include savings in resources and time. They allow the user, who has basic PC skills, to create standardized infographics based on their own data. In addition, the use of online services develops visual thinking, allows you to get an idea of quality criteria and current trends in infographics, as well as to gain initial experience in the visual presentation of data.

  • A lot of information storage devices have been introduced and developed for recently years. The trends of those devices are high capacity, compact size, low power consumption, reliability, and removability for data interchange with other device. As a satisfaction of these trends, near-field technique is in the spotlight as the next generation device. In order for a near-field recording to be successfully implemented in the storage device, a slider and suspension is introduced as actuating mechanism. The optical slider is designed considering near-filed optics. Suspension is not only supports slider performance, and tracking servo capacity but also meets the optical characteristics such as tilt aberration, and guarantee to satisfy shock performances for the mobility fir the actuator. In this study, the optical slider and the suspension for near-field probe array are designed and analyzed considering dynamic performance of head-gimbal assembly and shock simulation..

운전재활프로그램이 노인의 인지기능에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Driving Rehabilitation Program on Cognitive Function in Elderly)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this experiment is to find out the effectiveness which exert influence on cognitive skills by using the Driver Rehabilitation program for senior citizens who are over 65 years old and live in Busan. Method : From July first, 2014 to August 28th, 2014, we researched the 60 elderly people who are over 65 and go to community relief center which is in Busan. - 30 are experimental group and the other is control group. In the experimental group, we used Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in the model road. For estimation, we used MVPT-3(Motor-Free Visual Perception Test-3), Trail Making Test - 1, Trail making Test - 2 and LOTCA(Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment). Result : Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road results efficient visual perception ability. This programs results effectively in visual perception ability and space perception ability. This programs results effectively in motor apraxia ability. This programs results effectively in control ability for visual perception. This programs results effectively in thinking operation. Conclusion : Nintendo Wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road positively influence improving for visual perceptual ability and cognitive function of elderly people. Also it is considered as being more efficient for improving visual perceptual ability and cognitive function to implement basic rehabilitation training with driving rehabilitation program than basic training itself.

색상(Color)과 형태(Form)에 따른 시각적 주의에 관한 연구 -아이트래킹 실험을 중심으로- (A Study on Visual Attention According to Color and Form -Focusing on Eye Tracking Experiment-)

  • 시각과 관련된 감성 연구 중에서 색에 대한 연구나 움직임에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 왔으나 정적인 형태 자체에서 감성을 불러일으킬 수 있는가에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어지지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기본적인 3가지 형태를 중심으로 색상과 결합하여 영역 설정(AOI)에 의한 시각적 주의를 아이트래킹을 활용하여 분석하고 그 결과를 Heat Map과 Gaze Plot을 통해 시각적으로 표현하였다. 또한, 두 집단과 평균 차이에 대한 통계적 유의성을 검증하기 위해 대응표본 t검정을 실시하였다. 실험결과, 유채색의 형태가 무채색의 형태보다 시각적 주의가 크며, 난색의 형태가 한색의 형태보다 더 높은 평균을 보여 시각적 주의가 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 주관적으로 해석되기 쉬운 디자인적 요소를 객관적인 해석이 용이한 정량적 방법을 제시하는데 의의가 있다. 향후 본 연구결과를 토대로 더 많은 추가 연구가 수행되어 다양한 색상과 형태로부터 시각적 주의의 차이를 확인할 수 있는 정량적 해석 방법이 제시된다면 기초 디자인에 대한 가이드라인을 제공하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
