The number of North Korean refugees entering South Korea is continuously increasing. North Korean speakers show significant differences in vowel and consonant phonetics, length of vowels, and the rhythm and intonation of sentences. The object of this research was to examine the effectiveness of a speech intervention program for North Korean refugees using visual feedback through acoustical analysis for intonation. The subjects were three adults with no speech disabilities who had been in South Korea for less than five years. They had not received any prior treatment for inflection change. The program was set in a discourse situation and used Praat to evaluate intonation and provide visual feedback as demonstrating proper intonation changes through pitch contour. The results after intervention are as follows. First, intonation was significantly improved according to a 5-point subjective evaluation scale. Second, the pitch contour was similar to the contour of standard South Korean pronunciation. The subjects were very satisfied with this initial treatment and showed a high level of motivation. In subsequent study, the development of intervention and the comparison of interventions will be needed as well.
A new system for automatic scoring of 'organization' of the EEG dominant rhythm was constructed and applied to 18 normal subjects and 15 patients. Organization parameters which best represented the 'organization' as judged by 5 neurologists' visual inspection were calculated and the automatic organization scoring was obtained by a linear regression of those organization parameters. Furthermore, values of the regression coefficients were used to study the characteristics of EEG interpretation by each neurologist, and this scoring technique can also be applied to the training of EEG interpretation.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between the visual sensibility and the decorative design of clothing. 41 kinds of costume samples have been selected from photographs in fashion magazines under detail and trimming, and divided into three types according to line, shape, and form. I have measured these images by using Semantic Differential method. The obtained data were analyzed by factor analysis ANOVA, discriminant analysis, regression analysis and MDS. The results of analysis are as follow; 1. Factor analysis has extracted five factors which consist of decorative design sensibility. These factors are Attractiveness, Hardness and Softness, Rhythm, Decorativeness, Cuteness. 2. There were significant differences in visual evaluation of decorative design and demographics 3. The discrimination among formative designs was closely related to decorative image, especially between line and form. 4. The Image effect on Preference, Buying needs, Riches and Pleasant was consist of complicated sensibility. 5. Evaluative dimensions of decorative design were identified by Simple-Complicated, Cubic -Plane perceptive image differed in degree of similarity in spite of same formative design.
This study analyzed the shot pattern through the tempo of segmented shot duration and studied the relationship with the unique emotion of the story. The structure of the story was classified into 3 chapters, 17 sequences, 83 scenes, 287 beats, and 1636 shots. Shot density is a method of visualizing tension in visual storytelling, and since it is a result obtained by mathematically calculating the density of divided shots, it can be helpful in designing tension delivered to the audience. Nine shot density patterns were extracted. The ascending(+) type was classified as A, B, C, D, 4, the descending(-) type, E, F, G, H, 4, and the maintenance(/) type, I, 1 type. Based on the spatiality of the 17 stages of Campbell's heroic narrative and McGee's story structure, the narrative level of the tree structure was proposed, and the symbolic meaning of the shot rhythm in the practical aspect of the story function was proposed to present a systematic methodology in the direction of production.
The advancement of information technology along with the proliferation of communication and multimedia has increased the demand of digital contents. Video data of digital contents such as VOD, NOD, Digital Library, IPTV, and UCC are getting more permeated in various application fields. Video data have sequential characteristic besides providing the spatial and temporal information in its 3D format, making searching or browsing ineffective due to long turnaround time. In this paper, we suggest ATVC(Authoring Tool for Video Contents) for solving this issue. ATVC is a video editing tool that detects key frames using visual rhythm and insert metadata such as keywords into key frames via XML tagging. Visual rhythm is applied to map 3D spatial and temporal information to 2D information. Its processing speed is fast because it can get pixel information without IDCT, and it can classify edit-effects such as cut, wipe, and dissolve. Since XML data save key frame information via XML tag and keyword information, it can furnish efficient browsing.

While the management of digital contents is getting more and more important, many researchers have studied about scene change detection algorithms to reduce similar scenes in the video contents and to efficiently summarize video data. The algorithms using histogram and pixel information are found out as being sensitive to light changes and motion. Therefore, visual rhythm gets used in recent work to solve this problem, which shows some characteristics of scenes and requires even less computational power. In this paper, a new scene detection algorithm using visual rhythm by direction is proposed. The proposed algorithm needs less computational power and is able to keep good performance even in the scenes with motion. Experimental results show the performance improvement of about 30% comparing with conventional methods with histogram. They also show that the proposed algorithm is able to keep the same performance even to music video contents with lots of motion.
With the development of information and communication technology, the production and distribution of digital contents is rapidly increasing, and the distribution of illegally copied contents also increases, causing various problems. In order to prevent illegal distribution of contents, a DRM (Digital Rights Management)-based approach can be used, but in a situation where the contents are already copied and distributed, a method of searching and detecting the duplicated contents is required. In this paper, a duplication detection method based on the contents of video content is proposed. The proposed method divides the video into scene units using the visual rhythm extracted from the video, and hierarchically applies the playback time and color feature values of each divided scene to quickly and efficiently detect duplicate videos in a large database. Through experiments, it was shown that the proposed method can reliably detect various replication modifications.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to see the effect of walking when training for chronic stroke patients, Affected side vision impairment induced gait training with rhythmic auditory stimulation in parallel. Methods: This study was the general walking training group, the training group was divided damage induced affected side view, affected side view damage induced by rhythm auditory stimulation training three groups. Intervention period was 4 weeks. 5 times per week, per 30 min entered arbitration. Affected Side vision impairment induced induction training was conducted by installing a red cones, rhythmic auditory stimulation was applied to a regular rhythm training using a smartphone application (Metronome). Paired t-test was performed to see the difference between each group and before the intervention. One-way ANOVA was used to find out the significance probability between each group. Statistical significance was set at 0.05 probability. Results: Regular walking group, rather than affected side vision guided walking group could see increases in the FGA and DGI (P<0.05). And vision impairment induced affected side view and rhythmic auditory stimulation induction training this group than in the combination group walking group obtained higher scores on the FGA, DGI score(P<0.05). Conclusion: If you want to enforce certain rhythmic auditory stimulation of the visual field and side damage induced during gait training for stroke patients will be able to expect a better effect.
This research is to find out the characteristics and significance of the plastic experiments with colored planes in Theo van Doesburg's works. Based on the analysis, the following results have been obtained. First, Thea van Doesburg's plastic experiments with colored planes started from the paintings in 1916-1918. series and series were made of the ion of still life or human motion. These paintings were intended to make effects of rhythm, acceleration and simultaneity. Second, he colored the outer and inner architectural surface with primary colors. The expression of visual. rhythm on the color design for De Vonk, Districts Housing Projects VIII & IX in Spangen, Multi-Housing in Oosterstraat, Friesian Housing, Landbouw Winter School, and University Hall in Amsterdam embodied the concept of painting-in-architecture. Third, the field of these experiments were extended into the architectural space. As a results, $H\hat{o}tel$ Particulier and Maison d'Artiste was shown on the Architectural Exhibition in Paris in 1923. The colored planes were used as a construction material. They generated the dynamic space in architecture. Fourth, through the pictorial works like Architectural Analysis, Contra-Composition, Simultaneous Composition or Simultaneous Contra-Composition, Tesseract and Aubette Cinema-Dancing Hall, he created the concepts of simultaneous integration including nature and the environments as well as space-time in the architecture.
This study aims to make clear visual quality of organic form and structural order that is immanent in nature about a form as formative principles of architectural space design the significanced of this study is to prove the application possibility in to functional form architectural space design. All organic forms in nature has a unique shape and pattern in structure to be self-controled and good in order. Such an order in nature comes from regular construction and ratio principles which has aesthetical order by mathmetics. The specialty of beauty in nature can be revealed not only visual form but also the ratio balance and rhythm of structural principles. As we examine the aesthetic source embodied some object can be developed in to basic principles. Furthermore through this study we can find out that the form construction theory in nature forms share the quality attribute with geometrical form to be shown in architectural space design. Natural forms are ultimate visual expression of power that effects on the architectural space design. The rule of power in nature as nature formal characteristics have a direct influence and can be also applied to architectural construction. Therefore I expect that this study will be linked and continued to another structural view.
