In detection of moving objects from video sequences, an essential process for intelligent visual surveillance, the cast shadows accompanying moving objects are different from background so that they may be easily extracted as foreground object blobs, which causes errors in localization, segmentation, tracking and classification of objects. Most of the previous research results about moving cast shadow detection and removal usually utilize color information about objects and scenes. In this paper, we proposes a novel cast shadow removal method of moving objects in gray level video data for visual surveillance application. The proposed method utilizes observations about edge patterns in the shadow region in the current frame and the corresponding region in the background scene, and applies Laplacian edge detector to the blob regions in the current frame and the corresponding regions in the background scene. Then, the product of the outcomes of application determines moving object blob pixels from the blob pixels in the foreground mask. The minimal rectangle regions containing all blob pixles classified as moving object pixels are extracted. The proposed method is simple but turns out practically very effective for Adative Gaussian Mixture Model-based object detection of intelligent visual surveillance applications, which is verified through experiments.

Background: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of visual feedback squat exercise on the young adults with Patellofemoral pain syndrome. Methods: The subjects of this study were 22 female and 8 male who were equally and randomly allocated to a visual feedback exercise group (VSEG), an experimental group, and squat exercise group (SEG), a control group. Both did so for 30 minutes three times per week over a six-week period. Using Dartfish, their static Q-angle (SQA) and dynamic Q-angle (DQA) were evaluated. Results: The static Q-angle was significantly reduced in both groups of VSEG and SEG and in the comparison of difference values before and after exercise between groups, VSEG had more significant effect than SEG but in the comparison of the effects of dynamic Q-angle both VSEG and SEG had significant effects and in the comparison of difference values before and after exercise between groups, VSEG had more significant effect than SEG. Conclusion: Visual feedback squat exercise may be applied as a method to correct the lower extremity alignment with PFPS.

Image training is a very important yet difficult state for automated visual inspection using computers. Because the size of parts for the recently produced PCB (Printed Circuit Board) becomes smaller and circuit patterns gradually become more complex, a difficult and complex training process is becoming a big problem within an industry where development cycle for new products is short and various products must be inspected. This research produced a reference image by using CAD (Gerber) file which becomes a standard for PCB automatic visual inspection. Reference image from a Gerber file guarantees PCB patterns with no defects. Through system implementation and experimentation, Gerber file is used in order to propose a plan which allows an easy training process for PCB automatic visual inspection system.

This study aims to apply World Wide Web(WWW) image files to visual material in lectures. Especially handles "Aesthetics of Landscape Architecture." Visual Materials of 800 web sites were searched and analyzed. It is found that web search needs a subject oriented web guide. It says now a need of application web material to lectures. Matching the web images with the subjects of lecture, above all, is the main approach of this study. Thus, a list up method is supposed, series of web image data to be inclusive in two tables. The data distribute on sub-subject, and applicant as materials in picturing objects of slide show, web guide, and single image. Two cases of lecture subjects were chosen in this study. A case that needs various visual materials and other case of advanced materials that needs a special web guide. Chance of results of this study is not yet fully clear in real lecture. It is sure, as an article of cyber lecture that provided result of increasingly participant's interest. By this study, it will be possible a fully made lecture material by further study.her study.

It is a recent trend to utilize a variety of visual tools(process map, mindmap, ERD) to create, when we create the design of information system or business models. Theses visual tool is standardized tools as process map or BPMN, on the other hand, there is also a non-standardized tools as mindmap. The utilization of the non-standardized tools as mindmap in startups is a increasing trend, because of the order the release of creative thinking to design new business model. Mindmaps can be divided into pen-based mindmap(of hand-written) and computer-based mindmap. This study was conducted under the premise of a different thinking pattern, when you take advantage of pen-based mindmap and computer-based mindmap. In other words, the pen-based mindmap is a tool for deductive reasoning and the computer-based mindmap is a tool would be more appropriate for inductive thinking. The purpose of this study is to investigate these relationships through experiments. In this study propose guidelines how visual tools, when designing a social media business models.

Components, as well as factors was higher than the interest factor involved. So now with the development of outdoor advertising media, the unexpectedness expression appears in the flow, limited to the visual aspect of extraordinariness factors that could be seen being used. We are in the process of the deepening of the informationalized society. Such a phenomenon(of deepening of the informationalized society) means that human being is surrounded by a linguistic or semiological environment instead of realistic experience. And it is concerned with the visual design composed by the visual languages and semiotics of Arts. Because the visual design is a kind of the linguisticsmion using the visual formation. This penomena necessarily brings the expansion of the quatity of information and accompanies the simplification of messages. Therefore when we apply the simplicity resulting from the ideality of KYEORE painting(the folk Art of Korea), it can be cotribute to those who should be in the center of semiological environment more deeply as a source to maximize the effect of communication, which is the conclusion of this study. In sort, the characteristics of our KYEORE painting is the ideal expression. There are found not a few problems such as the depiction of forms, the perspective representation, the chiaroscuro, the expression of material if we evaluate them from the western formative viewpoint. But the depiction of the fact is less direct than the ideal expression itself, is likely to be much complicated, and can be far away from the world of reality. Because it is just the first step for satisfying the ideal images in man. In the composition of KYEORE painting is dominated by the rules nonprescription of time amd place, colloquialism of the meaning, distinction maximization. They are all the compositive characteristics resulting from the ideality. If these characteristics are modulated intelligently to the current thoughts, they will help to build the new visual communication system of Korea which has more direct and fast absorption force.

The aim of this research was to investigate how the effects of body supported treadmill training with visual feedback affect the gait factors of stroke patients. Thirty subjects (21 male, 9 female) with a diagnosis of stroke were taken to the hospital to participate in this study. The subjects received body supported treadmill training with visual feedback. The training was executed for 6 minutes, 3 times a day per week for 19 weeks after general exercise. The effects of the visual feedback in the body supported treadmill training were evaluated by measuring the average gait cycle and the average step length of the affected and unaffected. The collected data were statistically analyzed by using a paired t-test. The results of this study were a significant improvement of the average gait cycle and no statistically significant difference of the average step length. The gait cycle average had a statistically significant difference in gender, age, etiology, paretic side, and step length average. There was no statistically significant difference in infarction within etiology. Therefore, it was necessary to apply the easy and simple with the treadmill training in the rehabilitation of the stroke patients. This study will require a variety of outcome measures related to the effects of treadmill training with gait factors.

Purpose To investigate the difference of total activation in visual area, motor area, and cerebellum according to the stimulation paradigm. Materials and Methods Functional MR imaging was performed in 5 healthy volunteers with visual and motor activity using EPI technique. LED and Checker-Board stimulation were performed for visual activity. Thumb motion and Finger tapping were performed for motor and cerebellum activity. Time course data was obtained by calculating the total activation which was defined as the number of activated pixels x averaged pixel intensity. Results In the case of visual activity with LED stimulation, we found increased total activity of more than 100% compared with Checker-Board stimulation. In the case of motor area and cerebellum with Finger tapping stimulation, we found increased total activity of more than 100% and 150%, respectively compared with Thumb motion stimulation.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the visual landscape plan for Shinan province with ecological landscape resources, which is comprised of more than 1,000 islands. The plan was done by the order of image plan, landscape structure plan and detained landscape plan. The image of Shinan province was elicited as 'nature', 'complexity' and 'connectivity', by the aspects of planning, cognitive and strategic sides. The landscape zones are planned, such as leisure zone, rural & marine ecological zone and marine tourism zone, and the landscape axes are also set, such as marine axis, ecological axis and circular axis. Especially to conserve the ecological resources, some conservation zones are proposed and design guidelines for each landscape type are also provided, which are not commonly included in the urban landscape plan. Consequently, the landscape plan and ecological environmental plan were complementary to each other. In the detailed landscape plan, more specific plans and design guidelines are suggested for coastal scenery, village and forest scenery, historical and cultural landscape management and promotion. To improve the visual landscape in terms of planning and administrative aspects, the visual landscape plan has become increasingly important for the local governments. The establishment of visual landscape plan may hopefully help to make Shinan province more beautiful and attractive. The landscape plan and ecological environment plan should be integrated, and the further discussion and research are necessary.
