국립중앙도서관의 사명과 역할 수립에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Formulation of Missions and Visions in the National Library of Korea)

  • 본 연구는 국립중앙도서관의 사명과 역할의 수립에 초점을 맞춰 전략을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 세부적으로 다음과 같이 고찰하고자 한다. 첫째, 국립중앙도서관의 사명과 역할은 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 어떻게 정의되고 있는지, 그 내용은 무엇을 담고 있는지를 알아보고, 둘째, 선진국의 국가대표도서관들의 사명과 역할은 어떠한 내용으로 구성되어 있는지, 도서관 관련 국제기구들은 국가대표도서관의 사명과 역할에 대해 무엇을 권고하고 있는지를 살펴보며, 셋째, 이를 바탕으로 향후 국립중앙도서관이 국가대표도서관으로서 지식정보사회의 중추적인 기관으로 성장ㆍ발전할 수 있도록 그 사명과 역할을 수립하는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

서암저수지 둑높이기 사업에 따른 지속가능한 지역 발전과 환경 보전 효과 연구 (Heightening of the Seoam Dam Towards Sustainable Rural Development and Environmental Conservation)

  • In recent years, there have been a lot of severe flood and drought disasters and the rural environment have been worsened due to rapid industrialization and urbanization in the river basins of Korea. To prevent such disasters and to improve environment in the era of climate change, Korean Government carried out 110 projects to heighten irrigation dam in the rural area. The study has been carried out to evaluate the heightening work of the irrigation dam for the supply of reserved water and to derive optimal scheme to allocate the water resource for irrigation, domestic demand and environmental conservation as well as to contribute for the rural development in sustainable way. The study is focused on the Seoam Irrigation Dam which has been constructed in 2005 to be connected with the new Gami Reservoir which has been constructed since 2010. In addition, it was studied the contribution effect of the reservoirs for the adjacent comprehensive rural development projects which have been executed by local government. In the study, the principles and visions of sustainable development which have been derived by International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage is applied to estimate the sustainability of the irrigation dams in line with the adjacent comprehensive rural development projects. The project is estimated that the water resource in the reservoirs shall be used integratedly in cooperation with various stakeholders not only to conserve water environment but also to increase productivity of agricultural goods and ecological tour in the rural area.

파면굴절력 교정을 위한 자유형상 누진가입도렌즈 개발 (Development of Free-form PALs for Correcting Wavefront Refraction)

  • In this paper, two kind of free-form progressive addition lenses (PALs) were designed with Zernike polynomial surface and anatomically accurate finite presbyopic schematic eyes which have aspheric cornea, aspheric GRIN crystalline lens, aspheric retina, and Gaussian apodization factor. Geometrical and diffraction MTFs were used for the optimization process in sequence. 5th orders of Zernike polynomials were used for the evaluation of progression zones of the two examples. The target MTF was set as 0.22 at 100 lp/mm which satisfies the standard visual resolution. These examples were fabricated with a CNC diamond turning machine controlled by slow tool servo (STS). After polishing process, the wavefront aberrations were measured with a laser interferometer on the ten test points across the progression zones and then compared with three current commercially available PALs on the optical performance. Astigmatic aberrations of the examples are very lower than the three selected PALs and have more increased stabilized progressive intermediate zones and near zones. It is expected to give better clear and comfortable distance, intermediate and near visions than other conventional PALs and to improve the adaptability of presbyopic patients to PALs.

  • This study is about the iconological analysis on woman and clothes of Richard Avedon's and Cindy Sherman's constructed photographies which have questioned about life and existence of woman and present new visions about woman in comtemporary society and culture. The woman in R. Avedon's disguises herself with clothes, while the woman in C. Sherman's changes herself depending on the circumstances. R. Avedon reveals the inside of woman and ego with his gaze. The woman in his photography is reborn as another-self and communicates with the viewer through her eyes. C. Sherman has cast doubts with a woman's point of view in the way of making herself as an object in her works. C. Sherman has presented a new way of thinking about woman's body and ego. The viewer gives feminity and identity to the woman in C. Sherman's photography who has kept asking a question about woman-herself. The identity of woman in the photography has been changed depending on what she is wearing, what she is doing and where she is. Like this, the clothes which she puts on becomes another-self and also expresses life and dignity of the woman.

센서 시스템에서의 고신뢰 물리적 복제방지 기능의 저전력 칩 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Low Power Chip with Robust Physical Unclonable Functions on Sensor Systems)

  • Among Internet of things (IoT) applications, the most demanding requirements for the widespread realization of many IoT visions are security and low power. In terms of security, IoT applications include tasks that are rarely addressed before such as secure computation, trusted sensing, and communication, privacy, and so on. These tasks ask for new and better techniques for the protection of data, software, and hardware. An integral part of hardware cryptographic primitives are secret keys and unique IDs. Physical Unclonable Functions(PUF) are a unique class of circuits that leverage the inherent variations in manufacturing process to create unique, unclonable IDs and secret keys. In this paper, we propose a low power Arbiter PUF circuit with low error rate and high reliability compared with conventional arbiter PUFs. The proposed PUF utilizes a power gating structure to save the power consumption in sleep mode, and uses a razor flip-flop to increase reliability. PUF has been designed and implemented using a FPGA and a ASIC chip (a 0.35 um technology). Experimental results show that our proposed PUF solves the metastability problem and reduce the power consumption of PUF compared to the conventional Arbiter PUF. It is expected that the proposed PUF can be used in systems required low power consumption and high reliability such as low power encryption processors and low power biomedical systems.

  • In the resultant period of architectural transition and a tendency towards unthinking formalism, it is all the more important for designers to question the meaning of their actions and their role in society. Modern architects were convinced that their visions were reality, their ideas truth. Yet this assumption is was the fundamental issue, for what reality and how is it perceived? Harries argues a rediscovery of a language of natural symbols, which might help create buildings that are experienced as necessary rather than arbitrary. These symbols are said to express the essential patterns of human existence in the world. In the Frank Lloyd Wright's works, the uniqueness of his architecture lies in its expression and interpretation of nature and people's existence in the world. This study is intended to be an investigation of the nature of physical expression and perception of the reality known, and to seek to present Wright's philosophy of house design in relation to nature and non-arbitrary architecture. Finally this paper concludes that the architectural expression of expressions of Wright's houses are timeless and full of lift, and these built qualities are necessary and could not readily be otherwise.

  • 최근 2세에서 5세 사이 소아의 우식 발생율이 상당히 증가하고 있다. 유아기우식증(Early Childhood Caries)은 향후 영구치의 우식 발생 가능성에 대한 예측인자이며 사회 저소득층과 다문화 가정 자녀에서 특히 발생빈도가 높은데, 이는 충분히 예방과 관리가 가능하다. 만1세때부터 정기적으로 치과를 방문하고 이 때 우식위험도를 체계적으로 평가하여 환자들에게 맞춤형 예방 전략을 제시할 수 있기 때문이다. 유아기우식증의 예방을 위한 CAMBRA (Caries Management by Risk Assessment)에 대해 가장 최신의 개념과 사용법을 소개하고자 한다. 소아치과의사는 CAMBRA를 통해 개개인의 위험인자를 분석하여 연령에 따른 적절한 예방법을 수립하고 향후 우식 발생시 치료방향의 지침을 정하게 된다.

국내 3년제 응급구조과의 교양교육과정 분석 (Liberal arts curricula for the 3-year emergency medical technology course: A comparative study)

  • Purpose: This study aims to provide suggestions for improving the liberal arts curriculum for the 3-year emergency medical technology course by conducting a comparative research on the liberal arts curricula across 10 colleges. Methods: Various aspects of liberal arts subjects, such as basic directions set out by the curriculum, credit scores, and distribution, were studied. Results: Of the 10 colleges, 9 did not stated purpose of liberal arts education. All 10 offered courses including foreign language, computer, and self-management, however each subjects did not have reflections of course visions. Findings revealed the credit score ratio of liberal arts subjects to be relatively lower than the major subjects. Students had limited opportunity to choose liberal arts subjects, with only a small proportion of the course available for elective subjects. Most liberal arts subjects were completed in the first year. Subjects' experience was not expanded and deepened gradually. Subject choices often overlapped, with limited variety of available subjects. Conclusion: For competent emergency medical technicians, the 3-year emergency medical technology course should improve the quality of its liberal arts offerings. The study of liberal arts provides the opportunity to develop broad perspectives and mature attitudes.

  • 인터넷의 폭발적인 이용으로 인터넷을 통한 정보제공 및 각종 서비스가 활발해져 감에 따라 인터넷 이용의 현황과 인터넷 이용자의 특성 및 그 활용 방법 등을 파악하는 것이 기업이나 조직, 정보 제공자들에게 꼭 필요하다고 판단된다. 본 고에서는 국내와 미국, 영국 등에서 체계적 지속적 또는 단발적으로 이루어진 각종 인터넷 이용자 및 인터넷 서비스 활용 현황들에 대한 조사 결과들을 정리하고 비교 분석해 봄으로써 앞으로 인터넷 서비스의 제공과 이용에 있어서의 방향 설정에 도움을 주고자 한다.

An Analysis of Student Learning: Using a Standard-Based Earth Science Curriculum in the U.S.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of EarthComm implementation in the U.S. high schools in terms of demographic background including school size, urban/rural area, and teachers' teaching experiences. In addition, this study examined impact of students' higher-order thinking skills by using the visions of National Science Education Standards. Two modular of the EarthComm curriculum were used for this purpose with thirty one teachers and around thousand students involved across four states. Findings were that EarthComm did not significantly impact student achievement differentially in schools of varying sizes and school location, i.e., urban and rural areas. The years of teaching experiences did not impact student achievement scores for Module I but did significantly impact for Module II. It is noted that the two results seemingly conflict with each other similar to other research findings (Ferguson, 1998; Yager et al., 1988). Student higher-order thinking skills, on the other hand, were significantly improved as a result of studying with EarthComm. Implications were discussed at the end of the paper.
