하악골 재건을 위한 가상수술계획 시스템 (Virtual Surgical Planning System for Mandible Reconstruction)

  • In this paper, we propose a virtual surgical planning system specialized to mandible reconstruction surgery. Mandible reconstruction surgery is one of the most difficult surgeries, even for experienced surgeons. Compared to the traditional surgical procedures, virtual surgical planning can reduce the operation time in operating room while expecting better surgical outcome with optimized planning. However, with existing software systems, it requires much time and manual operations in virtual surgical planning. To reduce preparation time and improve accuracy of virtual surgical planning, we have developed optimized functions for virtual surgical simulation of mandible reconstruction with user-friendly interface. We found that the proposed system shortened the preparation time by half compared to the existing system from the experiments. The proposed system supports surgeons to make accurate plan faster and easier. The virtually planned results are used to make surgical cutting guide by 3D printing, and this will enhance surgical performance in operating room.

Virtual Tangential Vector와 퍼지 제어를 이용한 준 3차원 경로계획 (Semi-3D Path Planning using Virtual Tangential Vector and Fuzzy Control)

  • In this paper, a hybrid semi-3D path planning algorithm combining Virtual Tangential Vector(VTV) and fuzzy control is proposed. 3D dynamic environmental factors are reflected to the 2D path planning model, VTV. As a result, the robot can control direction from 2D path planning algorithm VTV and speed as well depending on the fuzzy inputs such as the distance between the robot and obstacle, roughness and slope. Performances and feasibilities of the suggested method are demonstrated by using Matlab simulations. Simulation results show that fuzzy rules and obstacle avoidance methods are working properly toward virtual 3D environments. The proposed hybrid semi-3D path planning is expected to be well applicable to a real life environment, considering its simplicity and realistic nature of the dynamic factors included.

  • Recently, many people can experience the virtual space by smartphone, and they use many games. In particular, this change has great implications in the collaborative and communicative planning paradigm, which is residents' participation and agreement becoming important in community making and urban design. This study analyze the case of the five virtual space games about community making and urban design, and examine the related regal system. Game users can construct roads, houses, buildings and facilities in the virtual city. Then, they create profit, and promote the growth of virtual city. In these games, construction elements are classified residential, commercial, industrial, parks, green spaces, public building, and roads. But these elements does not identified clearly, and they mixed. By analyzing of related regal system, these games focus on the individual buildings, spaces, and facilities rather than considering the terms of urban planning. To complement the virtual space game with the aspects of urban planning, these games can encourage the participation capability and enhance the communication skills of citizens.

  • Virtual Manufacturing System(VMS) is a computer model that represents the precise and whole structure of manufacturing systems and simulates their physical and logical behavior in operation. In this paper, a real time simulation for the virtual factory is proposed to integrate a process planning with scheduling under distributed environments. In order to communicate the information under distributed environments, we use a server/client concept using socket program and internet.

  • 오늘날 대학은 지식 및 정보혁명에 대응하여 새로운 가상학습모델(가상대학, E-Learning)의 도입과 같은 교육 패러다임의 변화기에 놓여 있다. 이러한 변화기에 가상대학은 분명 대학에게 새로운 기회와 위협을 주고 있다. 만일 대학이 가상학습모델의 지원을 위한 가상대학시스템을 구축하고, 이를 미래의 중요한 전략적 요소로 인식한다면 가상대학시스템은 대학의 입장에서 볼 때 중요한 전략적 정보시스템이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 가상대학시스템을 대학의 중요한 전략정보시스템으로 인지하고 이에 대한 체계적인 전략계획수립을 위한 하나의 프레임웍을 제시하며, 가상대학시스템 전략수립에 있어 가장 큰 영향력을 가진 집단인 교수자의 의견과 요구사항을 분석하여 이들의 요구가 가상대학 전략수립에 어떻게 반영되어야 할 것인지를 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 그리드 기반의 맵에서 자율이동로봇의 경로생성방법 및 가상 탄성력을 이용한 경로최적화 방법을 다룬다. 경로계획의 목적은 로봇이 주어진 환경에서 효율적으로 목표점을 향해 이동할 수 있도록 정보 생성하는 것이다. 그리드 기반의 경로계획기법으로 AStar 알고리즘이 대표적인 방법이며 본 논문에서는 AStar 알고리즘에 의해 작성된 경로를 가상 탄성력 알고리즘을 이용하여 경로를 최적화하는 알고리즘을 제안하고 있으며 그 결과를 비교한다. 가상 탄성력은 생성된 경로를 더 짧고 부드럽게 생성해주는 장점을 가지고 있으며 그리드 기반의 경로를 최적화 하는데 매우 유리하다.

  • Immersive virtual reality (VR) for the manufacturing planning helps to shorten the planning times as well as to improve the quality of planning results. However, VR equipment is expensive, both in terms of development efforts and device. Engineers also spend time to manually repair erroneous 3-D shape because of imperfect translation between 3-D engineering CAD model and VR system format. In this paper a method is proposed to link 3-D engineering CAD model to a multichannel visualization system with PC clusters. The multichannel visualization module enables distributed computing for PC clusters, which can reduce the cost of VR experience while offering high performance. Each PC in a cluster renders a particular viewpoint of a scene. Scenes are synchronized by reading parameters from the master scene control module and passing them to client scenes.

A New Technique to Escape Local Minimum in Artificial Potential Field Based Path Planning

  • The artificial potential field (APF) methods provide simple and efficient motion planners for practical purposes. However, these methods have a local minimum problem, which can trap an object before reaching its goal. The local minimum problem is sometimes inevitable when an object moves in unknown environments, because the object cannot predict local minima before it detects obstacles forming the local minima. The avoidance of local minima has been an active research topic in the potential field based path planing. In this study, we propose a new concept using a virtual obstacle to escape local minima that occur in local path planning. A virtual obstacle is located around local minima to repel an object from local minima. We also propose the discrete modeling method for the modeling of arbitrary shaped objects used in this approach. This modeling method is adaptable for real-time path planning because it is reliable and provides lower complexity.

  • Computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology today is the standard in manufacturing industry. The application of the CAD/CAM technology, together with the emerging 3D medical images based virtual surgical planning (VSP) technology, to craniomaxillofacial reconstruction has been gaining increasing attention to reconstructive surgeons. This article illustrates the components, system and clinical management of the VSP and CAD/CAM technology including: data acquisition, virtual surgical and treatment planning, individual implant design and fabrication, and outcome assessment. It focuses primarily on the technical aspects of the VSP and CAD/CAM system to improve the predictability of the planning and outcome.
