클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 사용자 작업환경의 끊김 없는 연계를 위한 웹 서비스 연결 관리 기법 (Web Service Connection Management Scheme for Seamless Migration of User Workspace in Cloud Computing)

  • Cloud computing emerges as a new computing paradigm which targets reliable and customizable services. The term builds on decades of research in virtual machine, distributed and parallel computing, utility computing, and more recently networking, web service, and software as a service. In this paper, we provide a seamless connection migration of web services. This is useful for cloud computing environment in which many client terminals have mobility. With the wireless internet facility, those mobile users can move place to place during internet communication. Therefore, we provide solutions to the two major problems in current virtualization based migration: communication failure problems and connection re-establishment. Communication channel flushing by zero window notification helps to resolve the communication failure problems and TCP port inheritance prevents connection re-establishment errors during socket reconstruction. Thus, our web service migration facility is now able to preserve open network connections, and even for server sockets. This is a highly transparent approach, in that we did not Introduce additional messages for channel flushing and did not make any modification to the TCP protocol stack. Experimental results show that the overhead due to connection migration of web services is almost negligible when compared with time to take the conventional web service migration.

디지털 커스터마이징 자동화 기술 동향 (Digital Customized Automation Technology Trends)

  • With digital technology innovation, increased data access and mobile network use by consumers, products and services are changing toward pursuing differentiated values for personalization, and personalized markets are rapidly emerging in the fashion industry. This study aims to identify trends in digital customized automation technology by deriving types of digital customizing and analyzing cases by type, and to present directions for the development of digital customizing processes and the use of technology in the future. As a research method, a literature study for a theoretical background, a case study for classification and analysis of types was conducted. The results of the study are as follows. The types of digital customizing can be classified into three types: 'cooperative customization', 'selective composition and combination', 'transparent suggestion', and automation technologies shown in each type include 3D printing, 3D virtual clothing, robot mannequin, human automatic measurement program, AR-based fitting service, big data, and AI-based curation function. With the development of digital automation technology, the fashion industry environment is also changing from existing manufacturing-oriented to consumer-oriented, and the production process is rapidly changing with IT and artificial intelligence-based automation technology. The results of this study hope that digital customized automation technology will meet various needs of personalization and customization and present the future direction of digital fashion technology, where fashion brands will expand based on the spread of digital technology.

자연어 처리를 활용한 메타버스 보도, 연구 간 인식 차이 비교 (Utilizing Natural Language Processing to Compare Perceptions of Metaverse between News Articles and Academic Research)

  • While public interests in the metaverse are growing recently in the Korean media and research, its understanding has not been fully established yet. In this study, we aimed to probe whether the rapid growth in media attention about the metaverse has increased its usage as a buzzword accompanied by an absence of scientific context. We analyzed publications and online news containing "metaverse" from 2020 to 2022. The data analysis methods are 1) time series frequency, 2) keyword network, 3) natural language model. The findings indicate the perception gap about metaverse between research and news articles broadened as its popularity has grown. Research about metaverse gradually expanded its connections with related topics-virtual and augmented realities-focusing on social changes in a remote environment. However, media reporting frequently used "metaverse" as a buzzword rather than explaining its scientific background, stimulating the proliferation of related topics and the dispersion of news content. This study further discusses the need for a media strategy to improve public conception of the long-term development of the metaverse.

표정 피드백을 이용한 딥강화학습 기반 협력로봇 개발 (Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Cooperative Robot Using Facial Feedback)

  • Human-robot cooperative tasks are increasingly required in our daily life with the development of robotics and artificial intelligence technology. Interactive reinforcement learning strategies suggest that robots learn task by receiving feedback from an experienced human trainer during a training process. However, most of the previous studies on Interactive reinforcement learning have required an extra feedback input device such as a mouse or keyboard in addition to robot itself, and the scenario where a robot can interactively learn a task with human have been also limited to virtual environment. To solve these limitations, this paper studies training strategies of robot that learn table balancing tasks interactively using deep reinforcement learning with human's facial expression feedback. In the proposed system, the robot learns a cooperative table balancing task using Deep Q-Network (DQN), which is a deep reinforcement learning technique, with human facial emotion expression feedback. As a result of the experiment, the proposed system achieved a high optimal policy convergence rate of up to 83.3% in training and successful assumption rate of up to 91.6% in testing, showing improved performance compared to the model without human facial expression feedback.

Potential of an Interactive Metaverse Platform for Safety Education in Construction

  • The construction industry is considered the most hazardous industry globally. Therefore, safety education is crucial for raising the safety awareness of construction workers working at construction sites and creating a safe working environment. However, the current safety education method and tools cannot provide trainees with realistic and practical experiences that might help better safety awareness in practice. A metaverse, a real-time network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection, was created for more interactive communication, collaboration, and coordination between users. Several previous studies have noted that the metaverse has excellent potential for improved safety education performance, but its required functions and practical applications have not been thoroughly researched. In order to fill the research gap, this paper reviewed the potential benefits of a metaverse based on the current research and suggested its application for safety education purposes. This paper scrutinized the metaverse's key functions, particularly its information and knowledge sharing function and reality capture function. Then, the authors created a metaverse prototype based on the two key functions described above. The main contribution of this paper is reviewing the potential benefits of a metaverse for safety education. A realistic and feasible metaverse platform should be developed in future studies, and its impact on safety education should be quantitatively verified.

Industry 4.0 환경에서의 작업자 정신 및 신체 건강 상태 모니터링 연구 동향 분석 (Analysis of Research Trends in Monitoring Mental and Physical Health of Workers in the Industry 4.0 Environment)

  • Industry 4.0 has brought about significant changes in the roles of workers through the introduction of innovative technologies. In smart factory environments, workers are required to interact seamlessly with robots and automated systems, often utilizing equipment enhanced by Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies. This study aims to systematically analyze recent research literature on monitoring the physical and mental states of workers in Industry 4.0 environments. Relevant literature was collected using the Web of Science database, employing a comprehensive keyword search strategy involving terms related to Industry 4.0 and health monitoring. The initial search yielded 1,708 documents, which were refined to 923 journal articles. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, a tool for visualizing bibliometric data. The study identified general trends in the publication years, countries of authors, and research fields. Keywords were clustered into four main areas: 'Industry 4.0', 'Internet of Things', 'Machine Learning', and 'Monitoring'. The findings highlight that research on health monitoring of workers in Industry 4.0 is still emerging, with most studies focusing on using wearable devices to monitor mental and physical stress and risks. This study provides a foundational overview of the current state of research on health monitoring in Industry 4.0, emphasizing the need for continued exploration in this critical area to enhance worker well-being and productivity.

개방형 자동 수요 반응 시스템 보안 취약성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Security Vulnerability Analysis of Open an Automatic Demand Response System)

  • 인터넷 기반 전력 수요 관리 망에서 소비자와 공급자간 전기에너지 공급과 사용을 최적화, 효율화하기 위한 기술은 스마트 그리드 망에서 핵심 요소 기술로 대두되고 있다. 현재 전력 수요 관리 망에서 수요 반응 신호를 전기에너지 공급자와 시스템 제공자 및 사용자까지 전달하는 개방형 자동수요반응 표준 프로토콜은 openADR 2.0b가 사용되고 있다. 본 논문은 가장 신뢰성 있고 전 세계적으로 확산되어 있는 EPRI 오픈 소스를 사용하여 개발한 VEN, VTN 시스템의 다양한 공격 취약성에 대한 분석을 목적으로 하고 있다. 공격용 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 EPRI 오픈 소스로 구현한 VEN, VTN 시스템을 다양한 방법으로 공격하여 분석을 수행하였고 분석 결과 VEN, VTN 시스템이 파라미터 변조 공격, 서비스 플로우 변조 공격에 대한 보안 취약성이 존재한다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 개방형, 양방향 통신 환경의 스마트 그리드 망에서 openADR 2.0b 프로토콜을 구현할 때는 다양한 보안 취약성을 고려한 프로토콜에 특화된 보안 기술이 반드시 모색되어야 한다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

계층적 이동 IPv4 환경에서 VPN 운영 방안 (VPN Traversal Scheme in Hierarchical MIPv4 environment)

  • 본 논문은 외부 에이전트의 계층적인 구조를 이용하여 VPN과 이동 IPv4의 효과적인 연동 방안을 제시한다. 제안된 방안에서, 대표 외부 에이전트(Gateway Foreign Agent)는 이동 노드를 대신하여 VPN 게이트웨이 역할을 수행한다. 이동 노드가 같은 GFA 영역 내에서 이동 시, GFA가 이동 노드 대신 흠 네트워크에 위치한 VPN 게이트웨이와의 IPsec 보안 협정을 이미 가지고 있기 때문에, 이동 노드는 새로운 IPsec 협정을 맺을 필요 없이 데이터를 전송하면 된다. 이러한 방법으로, 본 논문은 IPsec 재협정으로 인한 메시지 오버헤드와 지연을 감소시키며, 이동 노드가 외부 망에 있을 경우 패킷 누출 없이 안전하게 데이터를 전송할 수 있다 수학적 분석 모델을 이용하여 제안된 방안의 성능을 증명하며, 분석 결과는 제안된 방식이 기존의 연동방식 보다 등록 갱신 비용과 패킷 전송 비용 측면에서 우수하다는 것을 보여준다.

분산 문제 해결을 위한 개념적 모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Conceptual Model for Distributed Problem Solving)

  • 본 논문에서는 가상 공유 기억장치(VSM)를 기반으로 에이전트들간의 통신 및 협조 가 이루어지는 분산 문제 해결(DPS)을 위한 개념적 모델을 제안하였다. 이 모델에서 DPS 시스템을 구성하는 모든 에이전트는 분산된 환경에 있는 모든 기억장치를 단일의 공유 기억장치로서 취급하며, 따라서 그 곳에 있는 모든 데이터와 작업, 실행 결과 등을 엑세스할 수 있다. 에이전트들이 데이타와 실행의 중간 결과 및 다른 에이전트에게 요 청할 작업등을 VSM에 출력하고, 또한 VSM의 내용을 읽거나 실행함 으로써 하나의 복잡한 문제를 협조적으로 해결하게 된다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 제안한 모델을 기반으로 DPS 시스템을 구축 할 수 있도록 Network Linda를 이용하여 DPS 시스템 개발 환경(DPS-VSM) 을 설계하였다. 또, VSM을 기반으로 하는 DPS 시스템을 시뮬레이션한 예를 제시함으로써 제안한 모델의 유용성을 보이고, DPS-VSM과 기존의 다른 DAL 프로그래밍 쉘의 특성을 비교함으로써 제안한 모델을 분석하였다.

iSCSI 기반의 무선 네트워크 연결형 가상 저장장치 드라이버 구현 및 성능 분석 (Implementation & Performance Analysis of Virtual Storage System Based on iSCSI Protocol in Wireless Networks)

  • iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface)는 블록 중심형 스토리지 접근 프로토콜로써, TCP/IP 네트워크를 통해 원격의 스토리지를 마치 자신의 로컬 상에 있는 블록 장치처럼 접근하는 기술이다. iSCSI는 이 같은 접근을 위해 표준 이더넷 스위치와 라우터를 사용하므로 기존의 수많은 이더넷 기술의 적용은 물론 거리 제한이 없는 스토리지 확장을 가능하게 하며, 이는 곧 무선 네트워크상으로의 적용이 가능함을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 이 점에 착안, 유선 기반의 원격 스토리지 접근을 목적으로 디자인 되어진 iSCSI를 최근 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅(Ubiquitos Computing)등으로 관심이 모아지고 있는 임베디드 리눅스 장치에 탑재하여 모바일 기기가 가지는 저장 공간 제약 극복의 대안과, 상대적으로 제한된 무선 네트워크상에서 iSCSI 프로토콜의 성능을 평가 및 분석함으로써 그 적용 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.
