In this paper we implement main functions of electronic measuring devices, which are essential to design electric/electronic virtual laboratories on the Web. The implemented virtual electronic measuring devices such as virtual analog multimeter(VAM), virtual function generator(VFG), virtual oscilloscope(VOSC) enable the learners to perform the virtual experiments on the Web by simple mouse clicks. In order to show their validity virtual experiments for understanding how to use them are designed. The virtual experiments for measuring resistance(OHM), AC/DC Voltage(ACV/DCV) and DC Current(DCA) by the VAM are illustrated. In addition, the learners can change the frequency of the signal generated from the VFG and measure by the VOSC several types of the signals generated from the VFG such as triangular, pulse, sinusoidal waveforms. The VOSC can measure voltage and current through two channels of it and provide the learners with additional functions such as zooming, trigger, cursor, summing of waveforms. Since the virtual electronic measuring devices have been implemented as forms of Java classes, various types of applications are available according to the structures of virtual laboratories.

Desktop computers, which were the main means of Internet use and information activity, were pushed out by smart devices that emphasized mobility and simplicity. The recent information production and consumption activities are performed through smart devices, but there is no input device for smart devices that can fully replace traditional input devices such as full-size PC compatible keyboards. Because of the small size of the virtual keyboard that uses the touch screen of the smart device, typographical error occurs at a high rate. In this paper, we propose a variable virtual keyboard that minimizes the typographical errors of the conventional virtual keyboards. The proposed method minimizes the user 's input error by adjusting the size of each key of the virtual keyboard based on accumulated dataset of position and pressure of the user' s input error even though there is no difference in the key position arrangement of the conventional virtual keyboards.

In this paper, a serial wireless LAN virtual communication module that allows microprocessors to communicate wirelessly with other peripheral devices is developed as part of a study to build an online virtual experiment system that allows them to practice virtually anytime, anywhere in microprocessor application education in electrical and electronic control engineering. The developed module is connected to the microprocessor in the virtual experiment system through serial interface. The serial data is sent to and received from peripheral devices through the wireless LAN interface of the host computer where the virtual experiment software is being performed. In order to verify the function of the developed serial wireless LAN virtual communication module, experiments were conducted in which a microprocessor in the virtual experiment system exchanged data with an Android smartphone through a wireless LAN interface of a host computer. The developed serial wireless LAN communication module is expected to enable virtual microprocessors to communicate with surrounding real devices through wireless LAN, which can be efficiently used in microprocessor application education.

In recent years, miniaturization has become the key factor in the development of mobile communication system. Portable communications and computing devices suffer from two conflicting requirements which are device size to be as small as possible and large, high resolution display. These problems can be solved by virtual display. Any display in which the user views an image through an optical system is a virtual display. It provides a display which is high resolution, appears large to the viewer and at the same time occupies little physical space. In this study, handhold units of mobile communication was investigated through use of the SLA(Scanned Linear Array). The basic SLA mechanism comprises a linear array of LED's, a magnifying lens, and a scan mirror. To optimize virtual image, we investigated optical system design and operating condition for each part.
In the Internet-of-Things (IoT) or blockchain-based network systems, secure keys may be stored in individual devices; thus, individual devices should protect data by performing secure operations on the data transmitted and received over networks. Typically, secure functions, such as a physical unclonable function (PUF) and fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), are useful for generating safe keys and distributing data in a network. However, to provide these functions in embedded devices for IoT or blockchain systems, proper inspection is required for designing and implementing embedded system-on-chip (SoC) modules through overhead and performance analysis. In this paper, a virtual platform (SoC VP) was developed that includes a secure key generation module with a PUF and FHE. The SoC VP platform was implemented using SystemC, which enables the execution and verification of various aspects of the secure key generation module at the electronic system level and analyzes the system-level execution time, memory footprint, and performance, such as randomness and uniqueness. We experimentally verified the secure key generation module, and estimated the execution of the PUF key and FHE encryption based on the unit time of each module.
The latest mobile applications such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and deep learning can be used efficiently in various fields such as emergency management and game. Accordingly the corresponding applications have been developed for these purposes. However modern mobile applications such as augmented reality and virtual reality increase the energy burden on mobile devices. In order for mobile devices to focus their energy on the latest mobile applications, energy consumption should be minimized for communication and networking, such as cognitive radio. In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the energy consumption of Centralized Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CCSS) scheme in cognitive radio by devising Stop Reporting Algorithm (SRA). Simulation results show that SRA can reduce energy consumption of mobile devices using cognitive radio.
Since the introduction of CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) in the 1950s, display technologies have been developed continuously. Flat panel displays such as PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) were commercialized in the late 1990s, and OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) and Micro-LED(Micro-Light Emitting Diodes) are now being developed and are becoming widespread. In the future, we expect to develop ultra-realistic, flexible, embedded sensor displays. Ultra-realistic display can be applied to AR/VR(Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) devices and spatial light modulators for holography. The sensor-embedded display can be applied to robots; electronic skin; and security devices, including iris recognition sensors, fingerprint recognition sensors, and tactile sensors. AR/VR technology must be developed to meet technical requirements such as viewing angle, resolution, and refresh rate. Holography requires optical modulation technology that can significantly improve resolution, viewing angle, and modulation method to enable wide-view and high-quality hologram stereoscopic images. For electronic skin, stable mass production technology, large-area arrays, and system integration technologies should be developed.

Microdisplay with transmissive to realize the virtual display con make the large screen with small devices, so virtual image realization technology have been developed by using 0.24" microdisplay panel. We developed microdisplay controller with using Kopin panel. microdisplay will be used in several telecommunication terminal which can transfor text message and still/moving images.
MPEG-V(ISO/IEC 23005) standardizes normative sensory effects metadata and sensory devices command for adapting the sensory effects between the virtual world and the real world. MPEG-V(Virtual) standardization has been carried out by 3DG(Dimensional Graphics) ad-hoc group inside MPEG Working Group(ISO IEC JTC1/SC29/WG11). For the scent effect, one of the sensory effects within MPEG-V, we proposed an olfactory interaction model including electronic nose and scent display to the ad-hoc group. Recently, we proposed types and elements related to the electronic nose as a sensor defined in MPEG-V standard for olfactory interaction. At the 114th MPEG meeting, the types and elements were consequently reflected on MPEG-V CD(Committee Draft) 4th edition. In this paper, we implement an electronic nose system applicable to MPEG-V standard by using MPEG-V schema, encoder, and decoder in order to assess their adequacy.
Technological advance of power elcetronic devices using semiconductor switches in last several decades, invoke the increase of switching devices' penetration in the system like STATCOM or HVDC and also, increase the difficulty to adjust switching characteristics in the virtual simulating configuration, which are not capable of reflect the detailed phenomena. To investigate harmful effect of switching devices into the grid, detailed modeling of power electronic devices are necessary, and the first step for entire grid modelling is simulate power system in time domain model. In this paper, simple two bus system with synchronous generator and infinite bus on the other side has been compromised in two simulation environment, using PSS/E and Matlab/Simulink. Comparing the result of two simulation result will give answers to the fundamental difference between two type of simulation environment.
