  • The strategy of open architecture control system intends to integrate manufacturing components on a single platform, so that a particular component can be easily added and/or replaced. Therefore, the control scheme is neither hardware dependent nor software dependent. In this paper a modular and object oriented approach for the open architecture structure of control systems is invesigated. A standard reference model for genetic manufacturer system, which consists of three modules; hardware module, operating system module, and application software module, is first proposed. Then a standard reference model for open architecture robot control system is suggested.

  • In this paper, a real-time collision avoidance algorithm is proposed for experimental Autonomous Vehicle(XAV). To ensure real-time implementation, a virtual potential field is calculated in one dimensional space. The attractive force is generated by the steering command either transmitted in the remote control station or calculated in the Autonomous Navigation System(ANS) of the XAV. The repulsive force is generated by obstacle information obtained from Laser Range Finder(LRF) mounted on the XAV. Using these attractive and repulsive forces, modified steering, velocity and emergency stop commands are created to avoid obstacles and follow a planned path. The suggested algorithm is inserted as one component in the XAV system. Through various real experiments and technical demonstration using the XAV, the usefulness and practicality of the proposed algorithm are verified.

  • 최근 자바가상머신 인터프리터의 성능 개선을 위하여 파이프라이닝 기법에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 반면, 내장형 시스템 환경에서는 급변하는 시장의 적시성 요구(time-to-market)와 저렴한 비용으로 다양한 사용자 요구사항을 효율적으로 반영하기 위하여 재구성 가능한 컴포넌트기반 소프트웨어 개발 방법이 점점 주목받고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 자바환경을 지원하는 내장형 시스템에 적합한 가상머신 인터프리터를 개발하기 위해, 재구성과 융통성을 제공하기 위한 컴포넌트기반 소프트웨어 개발 방법과, 성능향상을 위하여 파이프라이닝 기법을 혼합한 새로운 설계 기법을 소개한다.

  • Research interest on flexible body dynamics, has been increased recently. The major application areas are the auto-mobile, train, and heavy machinery. This paper attempted the dynamic analysis for the variable-gauge wheelset with a flexible body, to better understand the dynamic characteristics of the variable-gauge wheelset. In order to achieve this goal, a 3D-Virtual Mock-up model was built. The tendency of the stress and deformation for the flexible lever was investigated through component mode synthesis, contact mechanics and flexible body dynamics. This study is a pioneering work for the development of Korean type variable-gauge wheelset.

Wind Tunnel Test of MRP Model using External Balance

  • A comparative wind tunnel testing of an airplane model was performed at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute Low Speed Wind tunnel(KARI LSWT). The model used for the comparative test was a seaplane model from the Glenn L. Martin Wind(GLM) Tunnel of University of Maryland, U.S.A. The 6-component external balance used in force and moment measurement is pyramidal type, which is a precision device that has strain gauge-type load cell inside of balance and the virtual center of the balance coincides with the tunnel centerline. Image method is adopted to eliminate the tare and interference of the model support, and to correct the flow angularity to the model also. Test results from KARI LSWT were compared with the results from GLM tunnel.

  • Optical Border Gateway Protocol (OBGP) is an extension to BGP for Optical Cross Connects (OXCs) to automatically setup multiple direct optical lightpaths between many different autonomous domains. With OBGP, the routing component of a network may be distributed to the edge of the network while the packet classification and forwarding is done in the core. However, it is necessary to analyze the stable convergence functions of OBGP in case of lightpath failures. In this paper, we first describe the architecture of the OBGP model and analyze the potential problems of OBGP, e.g., virtual BGP router convergence behavior in the presence of lightpath failure. We then propose an OBGP convergence model derived from an inter-AS (Autonomous System) relationship. The evaluation results show that the proposed model can be used for a stable OBGP routing policy and OBGP routing convergence under lightpath failures of the optical Internet.

  • 내장형 시스템 환경에서는 급변하는 시장의 적시성 요구(time-to-market)와 저렴한 비용으로 다양한 사용자의 요구사항을 효율적으로 반영해야 한다. 그러한 특징에 의해 내장형 시스템 환경에서는 재구성 가능한 컴포넌트 기반 소프트웨어 개발방법이 주목받고 있다. 또한 내장형 시스템 소프트웨어 개발에는 이식성, 신뢰성, 재사용성에서 강점을 가진 자바 가상머신이 주목받고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트 기반 내장형 자바 가상머신에 적합한 스케줄러를 개발하기 위해, 추상 컴포넌트 조림기법과 의존성 검사 방법을 적용한 컴포넌트 스케줄링 큐를 적용하여, 컴포넌트간의 문맥교환을 줄여 수행성능을 향상시킨 스케줄러의 설계 기법에 대하여 소개한다.

Dynamic behaviour of stiffened and damaged coupled shear walls

  • The free vibration of stiffened and damaged coupled shear walls is investigated using the mixed finite element method. The anisotropic damage model is adopted to describe the damage extent of the reinforced concrete shear wall element. The internal energy of a locally damaged shear wall element is derived. Polynomial shape functions established by Kwan are used to present the component of displacements vector on each point within the wall element. The principle of virtual work is employed to deduce the stiffness matrix of a damaged shear wall element. The stiffened system is reinforced by an additional stiffening beam at some level of the structure. This induces additional axial forces, and thus reduces the bending moments in the walls and the lateral deflection, and increases the natural frequencies. The effects of the damage extent and the stiffening beam on the free vibration characteristics of the structure are studied. The optimal location of the stiffening beam for increasing as far as possible the first natural frequency of vibration is presented.

Automotive Embedded System Software Development and Validation with AUTOSAR and Model-based Approach (AUTOSAR와 모델기반 기법을 적용한 차량 임베디드 시스템 소프트웨어의 개발 및 검증 기법)

  • This paper presents a new approach to automotive embedded systems development and validation. Recently automotive embedded systems become even more complex and the product life cycle is getting reduced. To overcome these problems AUTOSAR, a standardized software platform and component based approach, was introduced. Model-based approach has been widely applied in the development of embedded systems and has strong benefits such as early validation and automated testing. In this paper cooperative development and validation of AUTOSAR and model-based approach are introduced and automated testing techniques are proposed. With the proposed techniques we can improve complexity management through increased reuse and exchangeability of software module and automated testing is realized.

Object Surveillance and Unusual-behavior Judgment using Network Camera (네트워크 카메라를 이용한 물체 감시와 비정상행위 판단)

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligent method to surveil moving objects and to judge an unusual-behavior by using network cameras. To surveil moving objects, the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm is used to characterize the feature information of objects. To judge unusual-behaviors, the virtual human skeleton is used to extract the feature points of a human in input images. In this procedure, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) improves the accuracy of the feature vector and the fuzzy classifier provides the judgement principle of unusual-behaviors. Finally, the experiment results show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed method.
