전방향 능동 거리 센서를 이용한 2차원 거리 측정 (Two-Dimensional Depth Data Measurement using an Active Omni-Directional Range Sensor)

  • Most autonomous mobile robots view only things in front of then, and as a result, they may collide with objects moving from the side or behind. To overcome this problem, an active omni-directional range sensor system has been built that can obtain an omni-directional depth map through the use of a laser conic plane and a conic mirror. In the navigation of the mobile robot, the proposed sensor system produces a laser conic plane by rotating the laser point source at high speed: this creates a two-dimensional depth map, in real time, once an image is captured. The results obtained from experiment show that the proposed sensor system is very efficient, and can be utilized for navigation of mobile robot in an unknown environment.

  • This article investigates the normative principles suggested by Rangannathan as the guiding principles for his theories, consisting of basic laws, fundamental laws, canons, principles and postulates. His five basic laws and five laws of library science are re-interpreted from the view point of library classification. And three planes of idea plane, verbal plane and notational plane, one of the core ideas in his analytico-synthetic theory of library classification, are analyzed. This article also suggests the demonstration model for this three planes using the ideas from chemistry ad chemical equation. In the last part, it analyzes the canons for library classification of three planes. These normative principles are basically guiding principles for so-called analytico-synthetic or faceted classification. But they can be a n.0, pplied to most of modern classification. But they can be a n.0, pplied to most of modern classification schemes, especially to semi-enumerative schemes including DDC, KDC, etc. so that they can improve the schemes. From this regard, these principles can also be helpful to the KDC, on the verge of the revision of its fourth edition.

  • A circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna (MPA) using electromagnetic (EM) coupled fed method is analyzed in view of the two types of coupling mechanisms viz. cavity and parasitic type, proposed earlier. The patch-ground plane distance is varied in order to achieve the fore-mentioned types of couplings. For each case of patch-ground plane distance, the offset position of feedline is optimized for perfect matching and the boresight axial ratio (AR) is observed. It is seen that CP operation is possible only for cavity-type coupling (smaller patch-ground plane distances). The simulated results for the boresight AR for the two types of coupling mechanisms are presented.

  • Let k be a field of characteristic 0. Let ${\mathfrak{C}}=Spec(k[x,y]/{\langle}f{\rangle})$ be a weighted homogeneous plane curve singularity with tangent space ${\pi}_{\mathfrak{C}}:T_{{\mathfrak{C}}/k}{\rightarrow}{\mathfrak{C}$. In this article, we study, from a computational point of view, the Zariski closure ${\mathfrak{G}}({\mathfrak{C}})$ of the set of the 1-jets on ${\mathfrak{C}}$ which define formal solutions (in F[[t]]2 for field extensions F of k) of the equation f = 0. We produce Groebner bases of the ideal ${\mathcal{N}}_1({\mathfrak{C}})$ defining ${\mathfrak{G}}({\mathfrak{C}})$ as a reduced closed subscheme of $T_{{\mathfrak{C}}/k}$ and obtain applications in terms of logarithmic differential operators (in the plane) along ${\mathfrak{C}}$.

Propagation Analysis of DGPS Antenna for Radial Ground and Obstacle

  • The DGPS transmits the enhancement signal to GPS using the medium frequency band. The NDGPS service that covers the Korean peninsula has been started since 2009. The service area of ocean-based DGPS(maritime-DGPS) reference stations covers the 100NM, but land-based DGPS(land-DGPS) covers 80km service area less than that of maritime DGPS. The DGPS's antenna has the top-loaded monopole antenna type. Top-loaded monopoles are the logical antennas to be used in order to get a low profile antenna and a performance according to the broadcaster and communication needs. The antenna needs to get the ground plane with good conductivity characteristics and flat ground plane without obstacle near to the transmitting antenna. In this paper, the radiation characteristics of an equivalent MF antenna are analyzed in view points of the ground conductivity and the ground plane with obstacle near to the antenna.

Development of ROS-based Flight and Mission State Communication Node for X-Plane 11-based Flight Simulation Environment

  • A novel robot-operating-system-based flight and mission state communication node for X-Plane 11 flight control simulation environments and its simulation results were discussed. Although the proposed communication method requires considerable implementation steps compared with the conventional MATLAB/Simulink-based User Datagram Protocol (UDP) block utilization method, the proposed method enables a direct comparison of cockpit-view images captured during flight with the flight data. This comparison is useful for data acquisition under virtual environments and for the development of flight control systems. The fixed/rotary-wing and ground terrain elements simulated in virtual environments exhibited excellent visualization outputs, which can overcome time and space constraints on flight experiments and validation of missionary algorithms with complex logic.

Multi-view 영상 코딩에서 영상 개선 알고리듬 (An algorithm for the image improvement in the multi-view images coding)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient multi-view images coding algorithm to find the optimal depth and texture from the set of multi-view images. The proposed algorithm consists of two consecutive steps, i) the depth estraction step, and ii) the texture extraction step, comparedwith the traditional algorithem which finds the depth and texture concurrently. The X-Y plane of the normalized object space is divided into traingular paatches and the Z value of the node is determined in the first step and then the texture of the each patch is extracted in the second step. In the depth extraction step, the depth of the node is determined by applying the block based disparity compensation method to the windowed area centered at the node. In the second step, the texture of the traingular patches is extracted from the multi-view images by applying the affine transformation based disparity compensation method to the traingular pateches with the depth extracted from the first step. Experimental results show that the SNR(Singnal-to- Noise Ratio) of images enconded by our algorithm is better than that of images encoded by the traditional algorithm by the amount about 4dB for for the test sets of multi-view images called dragon, kid, city and santa.

진돗개에서 심장초음파 측정치와 평가와 임상적 응용 (Echocardiograpyhic Assessment and Clinical Application of Cardiac Disease in Korea Jin-do Dog III. Detection of Heartworm)

  • Echocardiography was performed to obtain the optimal planes for diagnosis of canine heartworm disease in 11 dogs. Imaging planes were taken the left ventricular outflow tract long-axis view, 4-chamber long-axis view, chordae tendineae level short-axis view and modified pulmonary arteries level short-axis view in the right parasternal window, and aptical 4-chamber long-axis view in hte left parasternal window. After echocaridography, the pulmonary artery valve pat was ligated with double 1-0 silk under the general anesthesia to prevent heartworm moving from pulmonary artery to right ventricle. The dogs were euthanized and examained for heartworms in heart and great vessels. Many adult heartworms were identified ultrasonographically within main pulmonary artery, bifurcation of pulmonary artery and right pulmonary artery, but not identified within right ventricle and atrium. At necropsy, adult heartworms were mainly found in pulmonary artery in 11 days, and also found in right ventricular outflow tract and right ventricle in 2 of 11 dogs. The modified pulmonary arteries level short-axis view was the best imaging plane for identifiying heartworms because the main pulmonary artery, branches of pulmonary artery and right pulmonary artery could be showed. The aortic root internal dimension (AOID) and right pulmonary atery internal dimension (RPAID) were measured from the modified pulmonary ateries level short-axis view and left ventricular outflow tract long-axis view. The RPAID and RPAID/AOID was higher in heartworm infected dogs than normal Korea Jin-do dogs in modified pulmonary arteries level short-axis view, and the AOID, RPAID and RPIAID/AOID was higher than in left ventricular outflow tract long-axis view, respectively. These results indicate that the pulmonary arteries were the major habitat of adult heartworm in canine heartworm disease and the modified pulmonary arteries level short-axis view was the best imaging planes for identifying heartworms because the main pulmonary arteries could be showed. Therefore the modified pulmonary arteries level short-axis view can be used for diagnosing heartworm disease and for monitoring dilation of pulmonary artery.

단계 파이프라인 구조를 갖는 Multi-View 영상 디코더 (A 3-stage Pipelined Architecture for Multi-View Images Decoder3)

  • 본 논문에서는 multi-view 영상 디코딩 알고리듬을 구현하는 디코더의 구조를 제안하였다. 현재까지 multi-view 영상 처리를 위한 하드웨어 구조에 관한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 제안한 multi-view) 영상디코더는 3 단계 파이프라인 방식으로 동작하며, 매 클럭마다 디코드된 영상의 화소 값을 추출한다. Multi-view 영상 디코더는 3 부분으로 구성된다. 노드의 값을 반복적으로 전송하는 Node Selector, 4개의 노드 값으로부터 각 화소의 값을 추출하는 Depth Extractor와 주어진 시점과 화소의 깊이 값으로부터 영상평면에 투영되는 위치를 생성하는 Affine Transformer로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 구조는 MAX+PLUS II 설계 툴로 설계되었고 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 동작 주파수는 30㎒이다. 제안된 구조를 갖는 디코더로 영상을 실시간으로 복원할 수 있다.
