An XML-based Multimedia News Management System (XML 기반 멀티미디어 뉴스 관리 시스템)

  • With recent progress of related multimedia computing technologies, it is necessay to retrieve diverse types of multimedia data based on multi-media content and their relationships. However, different from alphanumeric data, it is difficult to provide relevant multimedia information, be-cause multimedia contents and their relationships are implied in multimedia data. Therefore, in case of a multimedia news service system that is a representative multimedia application, most of new services provide relevant news about text articles and retrieval of multimedia news such as video news or image news are provided independently. In this paper, we present an XML-based multimedia news management system, which provides integrating, retrieval, and delivery of relevant multimedia news. Our data model composed of media object, relationship object, and view object represents diverse types of multimedia news content and semantically related multimedia news. In addition, a proposed view mechanism makes it possible to customize multimedia news, and therefore provides multimedia news efficiently.

  • We represent a method of 3-D object recognition using multi images in this paper. The recognition process is executed as follows. Object models as prior knowledgement are generated and stored on a computer. To extract features of a recognized object, three CCD cameras are set at vertices of a regular triangle and take images of an object to be recognized. By comparing extracted features with generated models, the object is recognized. In general, it is difficult to recognize 3-D objects because there are the following problems such as how to make the correspondence to both stereo images, generate and store an object model according to a recognition process, and effectively collate information gotten from input images. We resolve these problems using the method that the collation on the basis of features independent on the viewpoint, the generation of object models as enumerating some candidate models in an early recognition level, the execution a tight cooperative process among results gained by analyzing each image. We have made experiments based on real images in which polyhedral objects are used as objects to be recognized. Some of results reveal the usefulness of the proposed method.

  • UML is an object-oriented development methodology to graphically modeling, a software system, We are developed UML, graphics editor and its generating various design objects during software development cycle. Its design object compose of semantics information and View information manage using of RDBMS. Extant tools supporting UDML. however, it does not have an explicit format to describe and interchange its design abject intentionally, In this thesis, to overcome the drawback, the UML design object interchange and presents our efforts to make UML design objects highly interoperable. We developed an interchange format called UDXF(UML Design object exchange Format) based on XML UDXF is a simple and well-structured format to encode UML design objects. It leverages the tool interoperability, team development and reuse of design objects by interchanging the model information with the XML standard. Also, we propose design object repository manager for design object of UDXF format.

  • The main objective of this study is to propose a method to enhance building safety using the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) schema in Building Information Modeling (BIM). To achieve this goal, a fire object relationship diagram is created by using the Model View Definition (MVD) and Property Set (Pset) methodology, as well as the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) based object relationship analysis. The proposed method illustrates how to represent objects and tasks related to fire prevention and human safety during a building fire, including variables that are relevant to these aspects. Furthermore, the proposed method offers the advantage of considering both the IFC object hierarchy and the project work hierarchy when creating new objects, thereby expanding the attribute information for fire safety and maintenance. However, upon confirmation via an IFC viewer after development, a problem with the accuracy of mapping between attributes and objects arises due to the issue of proxy representation of related object information and newly added object information in standard IFC. Therefore, in future research, a mapping method for fire safety objects will be developed to ensure accurate representation, and the scope of utilization of the fire safety object diagram will be expanded. Furthermore, efforts will be made to enhance the accuracy of object and task representation. This research is expected to contribute significantly to the technological development of building safety and fire facility design in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 데이터베이스에 의해서 관리되는 데이터를 공유하기 위한 시스템관련 연구를 분석 및 소개하고, 본 연구에서 구현 중인 분산 이질 데이터베이스 환경을 위한 데이터베이스 공유 시스템의 구조, 운용 시나리오 및 구현 환경에 대해서 기술한다. 제안된 시스템은 스키마 통합 및 전역 질의 방식을 배제하면서 사용자가 데이터베이스를 고유할 수 있도록 뷰 객체모델에 기초를 둔 wrapper-공유 메니저 통합 구조로 구성되었으며, 인터넷 및 인트라넷 환경에 적합하도록 CORBA와 Java를 활용한 ObjectWeb의 개념에 기반을 두고 있다.

  • In this paper, we proposed realtime visual tracking system of moving object for 2D target using extended Kalman Filter Algorithm. A targeting marker are recongnized in each image frame and positions of targer object in each frame from a CCD camera while te targeting marker is attached to the tip of the SCARA robot hand. After the detection of a target coming into any position of the field-of-view, the target is tracked and always made to be located at the center of target window. Then, we can track the moving object which moved in inter-frames. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the Kalman filter algorithm for realtime tracking and estimated state value of filter, predicting the position of moving object to minimize an image processing area, and by reducing the effect by quantization noise of image

Tracing Facility for Visualization system of Distributed Java Object Application

  • Distributed Object Systems are very complex. So, it is difficult to see overall relationship among objects participated in the system. Moreover the performance tuning or maintenance are also important issues of it. So, it needs a way to view the system with low-cost and an efficient method. One of solutions is a visualization tool or system. In this paper, we proposed a tracing facility for Java-based distributed object system, especially RM(Remote Method Invocation). Our up-coming visualization system will use two phase hybrid post-mortem/on-the-fly technique. To support it, the fundamental tracing part must have some flexible and dynamic mechanism. The main idea of our tracing technique is the Plug-in Sensor Model(PSM). The relationship between tracing (monitoring) part and visualization part is closely related. So, we considered the appropriate factors for visualization. We developed 'Traced RMI(TRMI)'. For more precise visualization of a working system, the casuality of events has to be preserved. TRMI can support global event ordering.

  • This paper proposes an Object-oriented model for Generic Equipment Model(GEM) which is applied to semiconductor processing Equipment. A proposed implementation model for GEM consists of three modules : a module to convert SECS-II message and a module to transmit messages between GEM and a physical equipment. The proposed Object-oriented model for GEM has advantages in reuse and user management from the point of view of development program. Especially, this paper proposes a GEM agent COM, which is a base of GEM, transmits messages and events among modules. This Object-oriented model is analysed and developed by using UML.

The Development of real-time system for taking the dimensions of objects with arbitray shape

  • In this paper, we propose a method fur measuring the dimensions of an arbitrary object using geometric relationship between a perspective projection image and a rectangular parallelepiped model. For recognizing the vertexes of the rectangular parallelepiped surrounding an arbitrary object, the method adopts a strategy that derives the equations for vertex recognition from the geometrical relationships for image formation between 2D image and the rectangular parallelepiped model. extracts from 2D image with vertical view features (or junctions) of minimum quadrangle circumscribing an arbitrary shape object, and then recognizes vertexes from the features with the equations. Finally, the dimensions of the object are calculated from these results of vertex recognition. By the experimental results, it is demonstrated that this method is very effective to recognize the vertexes of the arbitrary objects.
