An Implementation of PI Controller for the Position Control of Mobile Robot Using LabVIEW (LabVIEW를 이용한 이동로봇 위치제어를 위한 PI제어기 구현)

  • The dynamics of mobile robot is nonlinear. To cope with this nonlinearity, many advanced control schemes have been proposed recently. Generally, the advanced control schemes are complicated and not good for the practical real-time control when they are implemented as control programs. So, in this paper, a relatively simple PI controller is proposed and applied to the position control of mobile robot with the adoption of reference trajectory calculation method used for the AUV(Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) control. The proposed PI controller is programmed using LabVIEW which is popular for its graphical programming characteristics. The simulation and experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed PI controller.

  • This paper introduces interactive multi-view contents authoring system based on MPEG-4. The MPEG-4 standard, which aims to provide an object based audiovisual coding tool, has been developed to address the emerging needs from communications, interactive broadcasting as well as from mixed service models resulting from technological convergence. Due to the feature of object based coding, it has been considered that MPEG-4 is the most suitable for interactive broadcasting content production. This feature is suitable for creation of the content which provides multiple views of object or scene in interactive manner. In this paper, we categorize the multi-view visual content into two types: panoramic multi-view content and object multi-view content. And design and implementation of the authoring system for interactive multi-view contents is presented. We believe that the proposed method can be effectively used for further deployment of MPEG-4 content to various interactive applications.

  • With rapid development of graphic hardware, researches on Virtual Reality and 3D Games have received more attention than before. For more realistic 3D graphic scene, objects were to be presented with lots of polygons and the number of objects shown in a scene was remarkably increased. Therefore, for effective visualization of large polygon models like this, view-frustum culling method, that visualizes only objects shown in the screen, has been widely used. In general, the bounding boxes that include objects are generated firstly, and the boxes are intersected with view-frustum to check whether object is in the visible area or not. Recently, an algorithm that can check in-out test of objects using OpenGL's selection mode, which is originally used to select the objects in the screen, is suggested. This algorithm is fast because it can use hardware acceleration. In this study, by implementing and applying this algorithm to large polygon models, we showed the efficiency of OpenGL assisted View-Frustum Culling algorithm. If this algorithm is applied to 3D games that have to process more complicated characters and landscapes, performance improvement can be expected.

Efficient Temporal Query Processing using Materialized View (형성 뷰를 이용한 효율적인 시간지원 질의 처리 기법)

  • Temporal Databases store all of informations by time varying, so the temporal query processor has to process very large information. Therefore, we propose an efficient method of query processing by using the relevance checking algorithm of input query and view definition. The relevance checking algorithm of query investigates relevance between the input query of user about base relation and the execution tree of view definition stored in system catalog. And related input query with view definition have a process of the query translation to the execution tree of view. So temporal query processor is able to increase performance of query processor by reducing the number of tuple.

Husband's View of Homemangement on traditional living-culture as related to Conciousness and Practice for Housework (전통생활문화를 토대로한 남편의 가정경영관과 가사작업에 대한 의식과 수행)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate husband's view of homemanagement on traditional living-culture as related to consciousness and practice for housework. View of homemanagement is the main concept which continuse regardless of era changes of Korean homemanagement. It is appeared in the old book with the authority of educational contents for homemanagement written the criteria. The subjects of this study were 445 husbands living in Seoul. The questionaire was used as a methodological instrument. Data were analysed by SPSS computer programs. Such method as frequency, F-test, Duncan's Multiple Range test were used. The major result of the study can be summarised as follows: 1. The factors of husband's environmental variables(age, education, the number of children, wive's education, the age at marriage, house from) have significant effects on the husband's view of homemanagement. 2. Husband's consciousness for housework was different according to the wive's job and practice for housework was influenced by environmental variables(the age at marriage, the number of children, house form, wive's job). 3. The higer husband's view of homemanagement, the more practice for housework (housing, child and family care, homemanagement).

  • It has been required to develop a defect detection system to perform defect detection capabilities after the bonding process in the production of RFID tags. However, we are difficult to design a system with understanding the characteristics of RFID tags and design concepts. Also we are difficult to modify even minor changes in features. In this paper, we design the defect RFID detection system using UML and object-oriented design techniques. We suggest the method for apply the UML Diagram to LabVIEW OOP and the technique for redesign the effect detection system's changes.

Evaluation of Radiation Dose and Imaging of the QC Program in Mammography MLO View (MLO View의 유방촬영에서 QC 프로그램을 이용한 선량 및 영상 평가)

  • Purpose: In digital mammography QC program was used for the purpose of reducing low-dose and high-definition images of the radiation dose. Materials and Methods: In digital mammography using a QC phantom according to the average glandular dose in the exposure method MLO view $0^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $55^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$, was measured at $90^{\circ}C$ intervals, an image with Hologic QC program to the SNR and CNR was measured to evaluate. Results: The average dose in the MLO view was wired to $90^{\circ}C$ when the maximum was 1.75 mGy, it decreased approximately 6% was measured at $45^{\circ}C$ 1.65 mGy. In addition, 1.67 mGy, manual record, there were an average wired in accordance with the exposure dose and the dose of 1.52 mGy difference in the way auto filter. Image quality evaluation at every angular section SNR 50 ~ 52, shows a slight difference in CNR 11 ~ 12, it was included in the manufacturer's recommended value. Conclusion: The dose was lowest in MLO view $45^{\circ}C$, the difference between SNR and CNR were insignificant. The method of exposure will need a way to reduce the exposure of the patient's body or unnecessary patient by placing a difference in settings in which the characteristics.

Vehicle Detection Method Based on Object-Based Point Cloud Analysis Using Vertical Elevation Data (OBPCA 기반의 수직단면 이용 차량 추출 기법)

  • Among various vehicle extraction techniques, OBPCA (Object-Based Point Cloud Analysis) calculates features quickly by coarse-grained rectangles from top-view of the vehicle candidates. However, it uses only a top-view rectangle to detect a vehicle. Thus, it is hard to extract rectangular objects with similar size. For this reason, accuracy issue has raised on the OBPCA method which influences on DEM generation and traffic monitoring tasks. In this paper, we propose a novel method which uses the most distinguishing vertical elevations to calculate additional features. Our proposed method uses same features with top-view, determines new thresholds, and decides whether the candidate is vehicle or not. We compared the accuracy and execution time between original OBPCA and the proposed one. The experiment result shows that our method produces 6.61% increase of precision and 13.96% decrease of false positive rate despite with marginal increase of execution time. We can see that the proposed method can reduce misclassification.

Moving Object Detection and Tracking in Multi-view Compressed Domain (비디오 압축 도메인에서 다시점 카메라 기반 이동체 검출 및 추적)

  • In this paper, we propose a moving object detection and tracking method for multi-view camera environment. Based on the similarity and characteristics of motion vectors and coding block modes extracted from compressed bitstreams, validation of moving blocks, labeling of the validated blocks, and merging of neighboring blobs are performed. To continuously track objects for temporary stop, crossing, and overlapping events, a window based object updating algorithm is proposed for single- and multi-view environments. Object detection and tracking could be performed with an acceptable level of performance without decoding of video bitstreams for normal, temporary stop, crossing, and overlapping cases. The rates of detection and tracking are over 89% and 84% in multi-view environment, respectively. The rates for multi-view environment are improved by 6% and 7% compared to those of single-view environment.

Convenient View Calibration of Multiple RGB-D Cameras Using a Spherical Object (구형 물체를 이용한 다중 RGB-D 카메라의 간편한 시점보정)

  • To generate a complete 3D model from depth images of multiple RGB-D cameras, it is necessary to find 3D transformations between RGB-D cameras. This paper proposes a convenient view calibration technique using a spherical object. Conventional view calibration methods use either planar checkerboards or 3D objects with coded-pattern. In these conventional methods, detection and matching of pattern features and codes takes a significant time. In this paper, we propose a convenient view calibration method using both 3D depth and 2D texture images of a spherical object simultaneously. First, while moving the spherical object freely in the modeling space, depth and texture images of the object are acquired from all RGB-D camera simultaneously. Then, the external parameters of each RGB-D camera is calibrated so that the coordinates of the sphere center coincide in the world coordinate system.
