사용자와 근거리에 위치한 비디로 프록시 서버는 자주 요청되는 동영상 데이터들을 저장하고 사용자에게 직접 전송함으로써 초기 전송 지연과 네트워크 트래픽을 효과적으로 감소시킨다. 그러나 비디오 프록시 서버는 원격지의 중앙 비디오 서버에 비해 비교적 제한된 저장 공간을 가진다. 따라서 사용자들이 계속 요청하는 동영상만을 선별하여 저장하도록 하는 방법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 비디오 프록시 서버에서의 가상 메모리에 바탕을 둔 가상 캐싱 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 사용자가 요청한 동영상 데이터가 비디오 프록시 서버에 존재하지 않는 경우 원격지의 중앙 비디오 서버로부터 요청된 동영상 데이터를 전송받아 사용자에게 전송하고 가상 메모리에 저장한다. 저장된 동영상 데이터는 이후 사용자의 요청이 있는 경우 사용자에게 전송된다. 이때 가상 메모리에 저장된 동영상 데이터는 사용자의 요청의 상태에 따라 가상 메모리로부터 삭제되거나 비디오 프록시 서버에 저장된다. 또한 가상 메모리에서의 단편화를 막기 위하여 가상 메모리를 세그먼트 별로 영역을 구분한다. 실험을 통해 제안하는 방법이 기존의 방법들 보다 높은 적중률을 보이는 동시에 보다 적은 삭제 횟수를 보인다는 것을 확인한다.

본 논문에서는 IPTV 멀티캐스팅 서비스에서 네트워크 부하증가에 따른 영상품질을 평가하기 위해 유럽형 디지털 영상품질 표준 측정규격인 ETSI(European Telecommunication Standard Institute) TR 101 290을 이용하여 실험 측정한 결과를 제출하였다. 실험결과를 통해 IPTV에서의 영상품질과 ETSI TR 101 290 측정방식과는 밀접한 상관관계가 있음을 증명하였고 기존의 영상품질 평가방식에서 알 수 없었던 요소를 정확하게 평가할 수 있음을 증명하였다.

비디오 데이터 자체가 시간적 구조와 공간적 구조로 이루어져 있기 때문에 비디오 데이터에 대한 내용 기반 검색은 두 관계를 중섬으로 이루어 질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 비디오 데이터 구조가 시간의 흐름에 따라 논리적 계충 구조로 표현 가능하며, 각각의 계층은 각기 시간의 흐름에 따라 시간 관계성을 지닌다는 특성을 반영한 검색 기능을 설계하였다 그리고 비디오 데이터의 시간적 관계를 계승, 캡슐화, 함수 중복 등의 객체 지향 특성을 이용하여 객체 관계 DBMS로 구현하였다 기존의 제한적인 시간 함수가 아닌 본 논문에서 제시한 다양한 비디오 데이터의 시간 관계성에 따른 좀 더 확장되고 다양한 시간 함수를 제공함으로 써, 사용하기 편리한 인터페이스와, 여러 가지 시간 질의어를 제공한다.

Purpose: This study was done to develop a video discharge education program focusing on mother-infant interaction to facilitate the development of maternal role confidence for mothers of premature infants. Methods: The process of the program was based on the Network-based Instructional System Design suggested by Jung (1999). For the content of the program, needs and concerns of mothers of premature infants found on web sites and existing literature were analyzed. Based on this content, the scenario and the video were developed. Nurses and mothers of premature infants participated in the process of testing the content validity, scenario development, and evaluation of final video production. The final video has two parts and lasts 21 minutes. The first part focuses on mother-premature infant interaction and the second part focuses on health management of infants. Results: Eleven mothers of premature infants participated in the evaluation of the appropriateness of the video as a teaching method and for educational content. They reported that the content on mother-infant interaction, maternal sensitivity, and maternal role confidence was especially beneficial. Conclusion: The findings indicate that video program is effective for education on maternal-premature infant interaction and the use of video in practical settings is strongly recommended.

본 논문의 목적은 초고속 정보 통신망의 Client/Server 환경에서 MPEG 동영상을 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 관리 시스템에 저장하여 실시간 검색하고 이를 복원할 수 있는 환경을 개발하는 데 있다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 데이터 전송에 필수적인 ATM 통신 환경 구축 및 MPEG-2 동영상과 ATM 망과의 연계동작 시스템을 구축하고, MPEG-2 TS 데이터를 분석하여 동영상 검색에 필수적인 I-프레임 및 키 프레임 추출 방법을 개발한다. 또한 추출한 키 프레임에 대한 색인을 부여할 수 있는 색인 편집기 및 색인을 통해 검색을 수행하는 동영상 검색기를 개발하며, 키 프레임 및 이와 관련된 색인을 관리할 수 있는 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 스키마를 설계 및 구축한다.

The two objectives of this study were 1) to develop an efficacy expectation promoting program for the management of menopause based on the self-efficacy theory of Bandura(1977), and 2) to investigate the effects of the efficacy expectation promoting program for the management of menopause. The first phase was to development an efficacy expectation promoting program through video tape. A telephone coaching program served as a follow-up to the efficacy expectation promoting program which provided encouragement and support to the subjects. The second phase was the experimental stage. This experimentation was conducted to determine whether an efficacy expectation promoting program based on theory of Bandura would increase the self-efficacy and the management of menopause. Results : The video which we developed consisted of 2 parts. Part one discussed the symptoms and the management of menopause. Part two reflected the vicarious step-by-step success of middle-aged women's menopause management. The telephone coaching program served as a follow up to the efficacy expectation promoting program and provided encouragement and support to the subjects. The total length of the video is 50 minutes. The hypotheses stated in phase two were supported by following results : In the two experimental groups consisting of the natural and artificial menopause groups both demonstrated significant increase in their general and concrete self-efficacy scores. In the experimental groups, both the objective and subjective menopause management scores increased n the natural and artificial menopause experimental groups. In conclusion, it was found that an efficacy expectation promoting program was an effective nursing intervention for increasing self-efficacy and management of menopause.

승강기 시스템은 ICT기술의 발달과 함께 다양한 융합기술을 접목하고 있다. 특히 안전관련 장치로 비상통화장치는 승강기의 의무 사항으로 적용되었으며 그 적용범위 또한 다양하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 음성 비상통화 장치의 한계를 극복하고 VoIP기반 유무선 환경에서 화상기반의 서비스 구조를 효율적으로 운영 관리할 수 있는 통합 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 방식은 관리자, 서버 그리고 사용자간의 발생하는 승강기내의 다양한 데이터와 화상 기록들을 효과적으로 관리 운영할 수 있도록 하고, 각종데이터와 승강기내의 부가서비스들을 활용하는 통합 구조를 만들어 VoIP 및 클라우드 서비스 환경에서 영상 통화 품질을 확보함과 동시에 유지비용 절감 및 안전관리의 신뢰성을 높이고 다양한 서비스 환경을 이끌어 낼 수 있을 것이다.

주문형 비디오나 원격 회의 그리고 원격 강의와 같은 멀티미디어 애플리케이션들은 비디오나 오디오와 같은 멀티미디어 트래픽을 유발한다. 이러한 멀티미디어 트래픽의 가장 큰 특성은 폭주성이다. 폭주성은 통신망의 효율을 떨어뜨리는 매우 중요한 요인이며, 따라서 폭주성에 대처할 수 있는 효율적인 대역폭 할당 정책이 통신망 관리에서 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 멀티캐스팅 방식의 온라인 비디오 애플리케이션에 대해서 대역폭 완화 작업이라고 불리우는 효율적이고 유용한 대역폭 할당 방안을 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 새로운 대역폭 완화 기법은 비디오 서버에서 이미 전송된 데이타의 특성을 이용하여 대역폭 완화창의 크기를 조절하는 동적인 기법이다. 몇 가지 MPEG 트레이스들로 실험했을 때 기존의 온라인 대역폭 완화 기법과 비슷한 성능을 보이고, 특히 멀티캐스팅 방식의 온라인 비디오 서비스에 대해서는 서버의 자원 효율성을 향상시킴을 알 수 있었다. Abstract All of the multimedia applications such as VOD, teleconferencing, and tele-lecturing invoke multimedia traffic like video or audio traffic. The most important characteristic of these multimedia traffic is the burstiness property. So, bandwidth management is becoming the major part of network management. In this paper, we propose a new and efficient bandwidth management technique called bandwidth smoothing for the multicasting on-line video applications. Our bandwidth smoothing technique reduces as much of the network bandwidth required to transmit on-line video traffic as previously proposed methods, and improves the server's resource utilization especially for the multicast on-line video services.

Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for lobectomy or segmentectomy is considered a favorable alternative to thoracotomy because of its usefulness and safety; it reduces postoperative pain, lowers morbidity, and shortens the hospital stay. However, despite these advantages of VATS, it has been difficult to perform VATS pneumonectomy due to the high morbidity and mortality rate of pneumonectomy. Recently, as VATS techniques have been developed and the usefulness of VATS pneumonectomy has continued to be reported, the frequency of VATS pneumonectomy is gradually increasing at large-volume centers. This article describes VATS pneumonectomy with a focus on the surgical technique.

Intraoperative events can occur during video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy due to unfavorable surgical anatomy, such as dense adhesions or calcifications around the pulmonary arteries. Troubleshooting intraoperative complications is essential for performing safe and successful VATS pulmonary resection and lymph node dissection. If continuous bleeding occurs or VATS does not proceed despite all measures, conversion to open thoracotomy should not be delayed.
