국내 방송 드라마의 유통 구조 및 창구의 특성 (Distribution Mechanism of TV Dramas and Its Windows)

  • 1990년대 중반 케이블 TV의 등장과 함께 국내에도 방송 유통 시장이 형성되면서 최고의 유통 상품으로 떠오르게 된 TV 드라마는 그 후 비디오 플랫폼이 지속적으로 증가하면서 2008년 현재까지 가장 선호되는 콘텐츠로 주목받고 있다. 이 연구는 IP-TV를 비롯한 인터넷 유통으로 또 하나의 유통 창구를 확보하게 된 방송 드라마를 중심으로 부가수익 창출 구조를 살펴보고 유통 창구들의 특성 및 방식에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 2000년 이후 방송 드라마 유통의 최고 수익 처는 해외 시장이라고 할 수 있다. 한편, 최근에는 온라인 유통이 활성화 되면서 드라마 판매가 더욱 활기를 띄고 있다. 이와 같은 창구 유통뿐만 아니라, 최근에는 포맷 판매와 리메이크 등 다양한 유통 방식의 변화가 목격됨으로써 유통 메커니즘의 새로운 변화로 여겨지고 있다.

Analysis of Delay Distribution and Rate Control over Burst-Error Wireless Channels

  • In real-time communication services, delay constraints are among the most important QoS (Quality of Service) factors. In particular, it is difficult to guarantee the delay requirement over wireless channels, since they exhibit dynamic time-varying behavior and even severe burst-errors during periods of deep fading. Channel throughput may be increased, but at the cost of the additional delays when ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) schemes are used. For real-time communication services, it is very essential to predict data deliverability. This paper derives the delay distribution and the successful delivery probability within a given delay budget using a priori channel model and a posteriori information from the perspective of queueing theory. The Gilbert-Elliot burst-noise channel is employed as an a Priori channel model, where a two-state Markov-modulated Bernoulli process $(MMBP_2)$ is used. for a posteriori information, the channel parameters, the queue-length and the initial channel state are assumed to be given. The numerical derivation is verified and analyzed via Monte Carlo simulations. This numerical derivation is then applied to a rate control scheme for real-time video transmission, where an optimal encoding rate is determined based on the future channel capacity and the distortion of the reconstructed pictures.

An image enhancement Method for extracting multi-license plate region

  • In this paper, we propose an image enhancement algorithm to improve license plate extraction rate in various environments (Day Street, Night Street, Underground parking lot, etc.). The proposed algorithm is composed of image enhancement algorithm and license plate extraction algorithm. The image enhancement method can improve an image quality of the degraded image, which utilizes a histogram information and overall gray level distribution of an image. The proposed algorithm employs an interpolated probability distribution value (PDV) in order to control a sudden change in image brightness. Probability distribution value can be calculated using cumulative distribution function (CDF) and probability density function (PDF) of the captured image, whose values are achieved by brightness distribution of the captured image. Also, by adjusting the image enhancement factor of each part region based on image pixel information, it provides a function that can adjust the gradation of the image in more details. This processed gray image is converted into a binary image, which fuses narrow breaks and long thin gulfs, eliminates small holes, and fills gaps in the contour by using morphology operations. Then license plate region is detected based on aspect ratio and license plate size of the bound box drawn on connected license plate areas. The images have been captured by using a video camera or a personal image recorder installed in front of the cars. The captured images have included several license plates on multilane roads. Simulation has been executed using OpenCV and MATLAB. The results show that the extraction success rate is more improved than the conventional algorithms.

  • As the use of smart devices is being increased rapidly by the development of internet and IT technology, the contents production and utilization rate are showing higher increase, too. In addition, the type of contents also shows very diverse forms such as education, game, video, UCC, etc. In the meantime, the contents are reproduced in diverse forms by reprocessing the original contents, and they are being serviced through the contents service platform. Therefore, the platform to make the contents reprocessing easy and fast is needed. As the diverse contents distribution channels such as YouTube, SNS, App Service, etc, easier contents distribution platform is needed, and the development of the relevant area is expected. In addition, as the selective consumption of the contents having easy accessibility through diverse smart devices is distinguished, the demand for the platform and service that can identify the contents consumption propensity by individual is being increased. Therefore, in this study, to vitalize the online contents distribution, the contents reproduction and publishing platform, was designed and materialized, which can reproduce and distribute the contents based on the real-time contents editing technology in URL unit and the consumer propensity analysis technology using the data management-based broadcasting contents distribution metadata technology and the edited image contents streaming technology. In addition, in the results of comparing with other platforms through the experiment, the performance superiority of the suggested platform was verified. If the suggested platform is applied to the areas of education, broadcasting, press, etc, the multi-media contents can be reproduced and distributed easily, through which the vitalization of contents-related industry is expected.

FDS를 이용한 소화모형 화재거동의 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Wood Crib Burning Behaviors by Using FDS)

  • In this work wood crib burning behaviors have been simulated by using the FDS(Fire Dynamic Simulator) program. Wood cribs are regularly stacked arrays of wood sticks, and available for the performance rating of fire-extinguishers. On the basis of an angle iron supporter 26 layers of wood sticks have been stacked up. Each layer consists of 5 or 6 wood sticks which are placed in parallel, with a constant distance, and in alternating rows. They are laid between the horizontally adjacent sticks at the before last layer. The wood crib is ignited instantaneously by an amount of burning gasoline below. A comprehensive simulation of such a practical sophisticated combustion is still too difficult to realize with any currently available computer, although the performance of modern processors is getting better everyday. We could carry it out here through parallel computing on the HPC(High Performance Computing) cluster as the feasible alternative. At last the validation has been executed by means of temperature distribution data measured by the thermal video camera.

Mean Shift를 이용한 교차로 교통량 측정 시스템 개발 (The Development of Vehicle Counting System at Intersection Using Mean Shift)

  • 비디오 카메라에서 입력된 동영상을 분석하여 교차로에서 교통량을 자동적으로 측정하는 시스템을 설계, 구현하였다. 입력 영상에서 배경과 전경을 분리하기 위하여 3가지 방법을 비교 분석하였으며 이중에서 좋은 결과를 보여주는 Li의 방법을 선택하였다. 전경 영상에서 연결 성분 분석을 이용하여 각각의 블로브들을 분리하였으며 분리된 블로브들은 블로브 추적기를 이용하여 프레임 별로 추적된다. 가장 기본적인 추적기는 블로브의 크기와 위치 정보들을 이용한다. 블로브들 간에 충돌이 있는 경우에는 블로브 안의 컬러 분포를 이용하는 mean shift 알고리즘이 사용되었다. 제안된 시스템은 실제 교차로 동영상을 이용하여 테스트되었으며 휴리스틱을 추가할 경우, 좋은 감지율과 오차율을 보였다.

감시용 카메라 영상에서의 배경 특성을 사용한 그림자 제거 (Removing Shadows Using Background Features in the Images of a Surveillance Camera)

  • In the image processing for VS (Video Surveillance), the detection of moving entities in a monitored scene is an important step. A background subtraction technique has been widely employed to find the moving entities. However, the extracted foreground regions often include not only real entities but also their cast shadows, and this can cause errors in following image processing steps, such as tracking, recognition, and analysis. In this paper, a novel technique is proposed to determine the shadow pixels of moving objects in the foreground image of a VS camera. Compared to existing techniques where the same decision criteria are applied to all moving pixels, the proposed technique determines shadow pixels using local features based on two facts: First, the amount of pixel intensity drop due to a shadow depends on the intensity level of background. Second, the distribution pattern of pixel intensities remains even if a shadow is cast. The proposed method has been tested at various situations with different backgrounds and moving humans in different colors.

원발성 자연기흉의 폐기포절제술시 정중액와개흉술과 비디오흉강경수술의 임상적 비교 (A Comparison of Clinical Evaluation for the Management of Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax Using the Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery and Mid-Axillary Thoracotomy)

  • A total of 20 patients underwent bullectomy in the spontaneous pneumothorax between October 1993 and August 1994. The patients were divided into two groups: Control group; the patients who received with mid-axillary approach[n=10 , Experimental group; the patients who received with video-assisted thoracic surgery [n = 10 . The results were as follows; 1. The total sex distribution was male predominence [M :F=6:1 . Mean age of control group was 31.6$\pm$ 10.1 age and experimental group was 24.3$\pm$ 5.5 age. 2. The operative times were 117.0 $\pm$ 32.6min in control group and 102.5$\pm$ 38.4min in experimental group [not significant . 3. The indwelling period of postoperative chest tube and hospital stay were 4.5$\pm$ 2.6 days and 8.3 $\pm$ 1.8 days in control group, $1.5\pm$ 0.5 days and 3.1 $\pm$ 0.3 days in experimental group[p=0.0018, < 0.0001 . 4. In control group, injection times of pain-killer were 1.7$\pm$ 0.7 times/day at operative day and 0.4$\pm$ 0.6times/day at postoperative 1 day. In experimental group, there were 0.3$\pm$ 0.7times/day at operative day and 0.1 $\pm$ 0.3times/day at postoperative 1 day[p=O.O002 at operative day, not significant at postoperative 1 day .

H.264/AVC의 효율적인 부호화 모드 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Coding Mode Decision for H.264/AVC)

  • H.264/AVC는 부호화 효율을 크게 향상시킨 비디오 부호화에 대한 표준이다. ITU-T와 MPEG는 가변블록의 움직임, 다중참조화면, l/4 화소 움직임 추정/보상기법과 비트율-왜곡 최적화 기법 등 다양하고 복잡한 부호화 기법들을 적용했다. H.264 참조 모델은 비트율-왜곡 최적화 기법에 기반을 둔 복잡한 부호화 모드 결정 기법을 채택했는데, 이는 부호화기의 높은 복잡성을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 매크로 블록 부호화 모드의 순서에 대한 비트율-왜곡의 비용 값의 분포에 기초한 효율적인 부호화 모드 결정 기법을 제안하였다. 실험결과는 제안한 방법이 부호화 시간에 있어 34%를 감소시켰으며, 비트율-왜곡의 계산 량을 82% 줄였음을 보여준다.

  • 본 논문은 비디오 객체에서 사용자의 조작 없이 실시간적으로 원하는 영상 부분을 분할해 검출할 수 있도록 MPEG-7에서 제시한 컬러 공간 분포 HMMD 모델을 이용하였다. 여기서, 얼굴 이외의 부분을 잡음으로 간주하여, 제거하기 위해 웨이브렛 형태학을 적용하였으며, 러프 집합을 통하여 최적의 합성을 하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 비디오 객체 검출 시스템은 다양한 크기의 영상에 적용하여 얼굴 객체를 기존의 알고리즘보다 정확하게 검출함으로서 우수함을 확인하였다.
