  • The necessity for a technique to protect intellectual property of a digital content has been increasing, especially for the image/video contents which are the most favorite because of their high information-intensive property. According to this demand, this paper proposed a digital watermarking algorithm, which is recognized as the most promising technique. This algorithm targets MPEG compression system and the watermarking process is to be performed during the compression process. It inserts watermark only in Y components of I-frames. Experimental results showed that the proposed method satisfied both imperceptibility and robustness against various attacks. The PSNR difference between the compressed images(the average compression ratio was about 27:1 with Y:Cb:Cr=4:2:0 color format for TM5-based compression) with and without watermarking was only 1.8dB ($4.2\%$). In each case that the resulting image after an attack was reusable the normalized correlation between the extracted watermark and the original one was above 0.8.

  • With the advancement of the digital broadcasting and popularity of Internet, there is an increasing demand for digital data. Recently, several studies have been made on the digital watermarking for copyright protection of digital data. We propose a blind video watermarking using minimum modification of motion vectors. Conventional methods based on motion vectors do watermarking using modification of motion vectors. However, change of motion vectors results in the degradation of video quality. Thus, our proposed algorithm minimizes modification of the original motion vectors to avoid degradation of video quality using simple embedded conditions. Besides, our scheme guarantees the amount of embedded watermark data using the adaptive threshold considering the human visual characteristic. In addition, this is compatible with current video compression standards without changing the bitstream. Experimental result shows that the proposed scheme obtains better video quality than other previous algorithms by about $0.5{\sim}1.0\;dB$.

  • Recently, according to the number of internet in widely use and the development of the related application program, the distribution and use of multimedia content(text, images, video, audio etc.) is very easy. Digital signal may be easily duplicated and the duplicated data can have same quality of original data so that it is difficult to warrant original owner. For the solution of this problem, the protection method of copyright which is encipher and watermarking. Digital watermarking is used to protect IP(Intellectual Property) and authenticate the owner of multimedia content. In this paper, the proposed watermarking algerian embeds watermark into multiple lower bitplanes of digital image. In the proposed algorithm, original and watermark images are decomposed to bitplanes each other and the watermarking operation is executed in the corresponded bitplane. The position of watermark image embedded in each bitplane is used to the watermarking key and executed in multiple lower bitplane which has no an influence on human visual recognition. Thus this algorithm can present watermark image to the multiple inherent patterns and needs small watermarking quantity. In the experiment, the author confirmed that it has high robustness against attacks of JPEG, MEDIAN and PSNR but it is weakness against attacks of NOISE, RNDDIST, ROT, SCALE, SS on spatial domain when a criterion PSNR of watermarked image is 40dB.

  • A digital hologram (DH) is an ultra-high value-added video content that includes 3D information in 2D data. Therefore, its intellectual property rights must be protected for its distribution. For this, this paper proposes a watermarking method of DH using a deep neural network. This method is a watermark (WM) invisibility, attack robustness, and blind watermarking method that does not use host information in WM extraction. The proposed network consists of four sub-networks: pre-processing for each of the host and WM, WM embedding watermark, and WM extracting watermark. This network expand the WM data to the host instead of shrinking host data to WM and concatenate it to the host to insert the WM by considering the characteristics of a DH having a strong high frequency component. In addition, in the training of this network, the difference in performance according to the data distribution property of DH is identified, and a method of selecting a training data set with the best performance in all types of DH is presented. The proposed method is tested for various types and strengths of attacks to show its performance. It also shows that this method has high practicality as it operates independently of the resolution of the host DH and WM data.

  • We present new digital watermarking scheme that embeds a watermark according to the characteristics of the image or video. The scheme is compatible with established image compression standard. We define a weighting function using a parent-child structure of the DCT coefficients in a block to embed a maximum watermark. The spatio-frequency localization of the DCT coefficients can be achieved with this structure. In the detection stage, we present an optimum a posteriori threshold with a given false detection error probability based on the statistical analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient and robust against various signal processing techniques. Especially, they are robust against widely used coding standards, such as JPEG and MPEG.

  • The emergence of digital imaging and digital networks has made duplication of original artwork easier. In order to protect these creations, new methods for signing and copyrighting visual data are needed. In the last few years, a large number of schemes have heen proposed for hiding copyright marks and other information in digital image, video, audio and other multimedia objects. In this paper, we propose a technique for embedding the watermark of visually recognizable patterns into the frequency domain of images. The embedded watermark can be retrieved from the decoded sequence witbout knowledge of the original. Because the source image is not required to extract the watermark, one cannot make the fake original that is invertible to watermarking scheme from the waternlarked image. In order to recover the embedded signature data without knowledge of the original, a prediction of the original value of the pixel containing the information is needed. The prediction is based on a averaging of amplitude values in a neighborhood around the pixel itself. Additionally the projxJsed technique could survive several kinds of image processings including JPEG lossy compression.

  • In this paper, we propose and design a new 0.264/AVC watermarking algorithm for protection of copyright by inserting a watermark after quantization. This invisible watermarking algorithm insets a watermark into chrominance components of I frame such that we can avoid degradation of original images. According to test results we could limit image degradation by 1dB, avoid bit rate increment within 2% and increase processing time by only 2%. The IP is designed by Hynix 0.25 micron technology and the maximum operating frequency of 115MHz is achieved. The PSNR of the embedded watermark is about 35dB according to the test result.

  • In this paper, we propose watermark algorithm called TDWA(Time-Division Watermarking Algorithm) and we applied the proposed algorithm to H.264 video coding standard. We establish that a proposed algorithm is applied to H.264 baseline profile CODEC. The proposed algorithm inserts a watermark into the spatial domain of several frames. We can easily insert strong and invisible watermarks into original pictures using this method. For verification of the proposed algorithm we design hardware core using Verilog-HDL and Excalibur for JM 8.7 code with hardware & software co-simulation. As a result of verification, the PSNR between watermarked pictures and original pictures are more than 60dB and we found the watermark is kept more than 80% after encoding of H.264/AVC with quantization parameter of 28 in baseline profile.

  • We proposed a novel digital video watermarking that embeds dual watermarks in the block DCT domain to solve the deadlock problem. Daul watermarks are composed of private watermarks and robust blind watermarks. Firstly, private watermarks are embedded into the lowest AC coefficients of the P or B-frames in accordance with the motion direction gained from a previous frame. Secondly, blind watermarks that have the robustness are inserted into the DC coefficients of the I-frames using a private key made from temporal I-frame motion information. Thus, when a deadlock situation occurs, the proposed algorithm can efficiently solve the problem. Experimental results confirmed that the proposed algorithm can produce good subjective and objective results for MPEG coding with a variety of bit rates. Furthermore, the proposed watermarking algorithm can potentially be applied to broadcasting monitoring systems due to its simplicity and high robustness.

  • This study deals with the technical approach related to the protection of digital video contents copyright, which has currently become a major issue in the digital contents market. With the production and distribution of digital video contents rapidly increasing, various policies and technical approaches are being made in relation to the protection of intellectual property rights. The technical approach from a DRM (Digital Rights Management) perspective was made from various angles, but its limitations have also been exposed in terms of convenience and quality. In this study, rather than the existing encoding certification and watermark technologies, it introduces technical approaches from a content-based copy detection method, while suggesting a copy detection method using the representative color sequence. In particular, this study takes into consideration the distribution environment of the domestic video market and deals with the technical approach in a direction that can control the illegal distribution of high quality videos.
