오늘날 미디어는 우리의 일상을 혁신하고 우리의 삶을 변혁시키는 위력을 갖게 되었다. 뉴미디어는 마샬 맥루한 (Marshall MacLuhan)의 말처럼 새로운 언어이며, 우리를 실재의 세계와 연결시켜주는 수단이며 또 그 자체가 실재의 세계이기도 하다. 이러한 뉴미디어의 세계에서 문자의 출현은 새로운 의미를 갖게 되었다. 미디어의 세계에 있어서 문자의 출현은 과거 무성시대 말기로부터 시작된 내용의 의미전달을 위한 자막의 역할을 뛰어 넘어 화면의 구성적 요소로서 역할을 하게 되었다. 이러한 구성적 요소로서의 자막 혹은 문자의 출현은 미학적 요소, 오락적 요소, 재현적 요소, 부언적 가치전도의 요소, 설명적 요소 등의 의미를 지니게 되었다. 과거 자막에서 보여주던 번역적 요소마저도 뉴미디어의 세계에서는 새로운 양식으로 탈바꿈하면서 계속전진을 계속하고 있다. 의미 전달을 위해서 영상 속의 문자는 의미론적인 입장에서의 변화나 연구가 계속될 뿐만 아니라 그 글꼴 등에서도 많은 변화와 의미를 지니게 되었다. 글꼴의 디자인은 미디어세계의 새로운 미학적 발상이며, 글꼴의 양식은 미디어 화면의 또 다른 생명력이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 글꼴이 미디어에 미치는 영향에 대해 보다 구체적으로 살펴보고자 했다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest effective online pedagogical strategies for a fashion design CAD course to enhance student learning and satisfaction. The study investigated student experience of online learning and compared online learning with a face-to-face learning experience. Student concentration, participation, perceptions of effectiveness of teaching, utilization of learning materials, and satisfaction were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Advantages and disadvantages of online learning as well as advantages of face-to-face learning were also analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Student concentration, participation, and perception of effectiveness of teaching were greater for face-to-face learning with significantly higher concentration on individual practice. Students utilized video recording of synchronous online lectures more actively than PDF lecture notes. The advantages of face-to-face learning were plentiful communication and feedback and easy questioning process as well as high levels of understanding and concentration. Meanwhile, major disadvantages of online learning were the speed of the lecture, lower levels of understanding and concentration, limited peer interaction, and technical problems. Major advantages of online learning were flexibility and convenience, repetitive learning through videos, and instant communication and feedback. Students preferred a blended learning approach for the fashion design CAD course. For effective online learning, it is suggested that instructors frequently question and check student practice through screen share in a private online meeting room and engage activities that are demanding of student interaction. The video recording of synchronous online lectures is also suggested as a supplemental learning material for repetitive learning.

본 연구는 구급현장에서 사용되고 있는 바디캠을 활용하여 교육피드백 효과를 파악하고자 응급구조학과 4학년 32명을 대상으로 팀단위 심폐소생술 시뮬레이션을 진행하여 바디캠 피드백 전후에 대한 인식도, 교육피드백 효과, 만족도, 바디캠 기기활용 선호도 및 애로사항을 파악하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 27.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 빈도분석, paried t-test, Wilcoxon signed rank test를 수행하였다. 연구결과 바디캠 사용에 대한 인식은 3.73±0.62점에서 4.45±0.54점으로 긍정적인 인식변화를 보였으며, 3.98±0.51의 긍정적인 만족도는 나타냈다(p<.001). 또한 바디캠 피드백 후 자가점검 정확도와 수행능력점수에서 유의한 상승효과를 나타냈다(p<.001). 따라서 팀단위 시뮬레이션 소생술 훈련 시 강사의 직접적인 피드백 없이도 바디캠 영상시청을 통한 자가피드백을 수행하여 자가점검능력 향상 및 수행능력향상의 긍정적인 교육피드백 효과를 발휘할 수 있다.

본 논문에서는 블랙박스 혹은 운전석에 장착된 카메라로부터 얻어진 차량 영상에 대한 영역별 수직 투영 히스토그램 매칭 및 선형 회귀분석 모델을 활용한 강건한 차량 운행 동영상의 안정화 기법을 제안한다. 동영상 안정화 기법은 영상의 흔들림 보정 뿐 아니라 동영상 내 강건한 특징점 추적 및 매칭을 위한 이전의 전처리 과정으로 활용된다. 일반적으로 촬영 과정에서 많은 떨림이 포함될 수 있는 야외 CCTV 영상이나 손으로 들고 촬영된 동영상에 대한 흔들림 보정 등에 적용되고 있으나 영상 내 특징점이 지속적으로 변하고 영상의 변화 정도가 매우 심한 차량 운행 동영상에서는 적용된 사례가 드물다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 비디오 안정화 기술이 적용되기 어려운 차량 운행 동영상에 대하여 흔들림 보정을 위한 동영상 안정화 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 입력 영상에 대한 영역별 수직 투영 히스토그램 매칭을 수행하고 선형 회귀모델을 통해 영상에 나타나는 수직 및 회전 이동 변환을 선형 근사하여 시간 영역상에서의 입력 영상에 대한 안정화를 수행한다. 제안 방법의 검증을 위해 블랙박스로 촬영된 동영상에 동영상 안정화 기술을 적용하였으며, 운행 중 불규칙한 노면으로 인한 영상의 흔들림이 효과적으로 제거되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

최근 스마트폰과 태블릿과 같은 소형 모바일 기기가 확산됨에 따라, 모바일 기기에서 동영상 촬영시 이용되는 비디오 인코더의 성능 최적화의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기를 대상으로 하는 H.264/AVC 기본 프로파일 비디오 인코더를 모바일 기기에 구현하고, 실험을 통해 H.264 인코더의 주요 제어 변수를 최적화하였다. 실험으로는 인코더의 복잡도에 영향을 주는 것으로 알려진 라그랑지안 최적화, 하다마드 변환, 움직임 벡터 탐색 범위, I-프레임 주기, 참조 프레임 수를 다양하게 조합하여 변화시키면서 동영상의 화질, 비트율, 인코딩 시간, 움직임 추정 시간 그리고, 인코딩에 따라 보드에서 소모되는 전력을 측정하였다. 실험에서 측정된 데이터를 분석하여, 모바일 기기에서의 비디오 인코더에서 요구되는 조건을 만족할 수 있는 최적의 H.264/AVC 제어 변수를 위의 다섯 가지 기능 모듈에 대해 결정하였다.

Observations and video documentation of interactions between animals living in dens, cavities, and other enclosed spaces are difficult, but they play an important role in field biology, ecology, and conservation. For example, bird parents visiting nests and feeding their nestlings may provide crucial information for testing of ecological hypotheses and may easily attract attention of participants of citizen-science ecological and conservation projects. Because of the nest concealment of cavity-nesting birds, their behaviors in the nest can only be studied by using video surveillance. Professional wildlife surveillance systems are extremely expensive. Here, we describe an inexpensive video setup that can be constructed with relatively little effort and is more affordable than any previously described system. We anticipate that the relatively low cost of about 250 USD for a battery-operated system is an important feature for citizen-science type of projects and for applications in heavily populated areas where the potential for theft and vandalism may be high. Based on our experiences, we provide methodological advice on practical aspects of using this system in the field for ecological research on birds. We highlight the low cost, easiness of construction, and potential availability to a large number of observers taking part in wildlife monitoring projects, and we offer technical help to participants of such research projects.

현재의 동영상 파일은 WMV(Window Media Video)형식과 같은 극일 포맷과 압축 기술들이다. 이 같은 파일 포맷과 압축 기술을 이용한 동영상들은 화질과 압축율에 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 Macromedia(Adobe 사가 인수함)사에서 개발한 FLV(Flash Video)와는 다른 FLY 솔루션 EZ-MOV를 설계 및 구현하였다. EZ-MOV는 다음과 같은 장점들을 가지고 있다. 첫째, FLV플레이어가 배속이 가능하며 자체 DRM이 내장 죄어 있어서 불법 녹화가 불가능하고 둘째, WMV 형식 파일을 FLV로 인코딩시에 최대한 50%까지 무손실로 압축이 가능하며 셋째, 버퍼링 없는 동영상 스트리밍이 가능하다. 넷째, 스트리밍 서버 없이도 FLV 파일을 스트리밍으로 서비스가 가능하다. 다섯째, 다운로드와 스트리밍을 병행한 동영상 서비스도 가능하다. 여섯째, 양방향으로의 서비스도 가능하다.

네트워크 카메라 영상을 저장하는 DVR(Digital Video Recorder) 디자인 개발 연구 사례이다. 지금까지의 영상저장장치(DVR)는 아날로그 영상을 디지털 방식으로 변환 압축하여 저장하는 방식이었지만 앞으로는 네트워크 카메라를 통해 디지털 영상을 그대로 저장하는 방식으로 발전해 가고 있다. 또한 영상압축방식도 기존방식에서 고화질영상압축효율, 데이터크기 최소화, 네트워크와의 호환성, 제품의 처리속도 등을 고려한 제품들이 개발추세에 있다. 이에 따라 2012년에는 전 세계 네트워크 카메라와 영상처리장치의 판매 비율이 기존의 아날로그 방식의 제품군들을 크게 추월할 것으로 예상되며 이러한 기술 환경과 시장의 요구 변화에 있어서 기능구현, 신뢰성확보 등과 같이 품질 중심의 제품개발과 DVR의 개발 컨셉은 대형화되고 선명한 화질과 압축 기술의 향상으로 인하여 현재와는 다른 새로운 디자인을 요구하고 있으며, 제조사들은 사용자 중심의 제품디자인에 새로운 컨셉 방향으로 연구 개발하는 추세에 있다.

본 연구는 국내 영어 학습자들의 말하기 출력 활동을 활성화시킬 방안으로서 스마트폰과 음성합성(Text-to-Speech)이 지닌 장점을 활용하여 모바일 영어 학습의 한 형태인 영어 말하기 영상 과제 학습 모델을 개발, 적용한 후, 이 모델이 학습자들에게 미친 효과를 탐구하였다. 설문 조사 결과 모바일 기기를 활용한 영어 말하기 영상 과제는 학습자들의 전반적인 영어실력 뿐 아니라 발음, 말하기, 듣기, 쓰기 영역에서 자신감과 실력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 이런 결과를 기반으로 외국어로서 영어를 학습해야 하는 상황적 한계로 인해 충분한 영어 입력에 노출되지 못하고 말하기 출력활동이 부족한 국내 영어 학습자들의 영어 말하기 능력을 향상시킬 한 가지 방안으로써 말하기 영상 과제의 가능성과 한계를 논의한다.

This study tried to answer the question : 'How does the human communication happen at the oriental medicine hospital between nurse and patient?' To answer that, a micro-ethnographic research method was used. Researcher visited T university hospital of oriental medicine and observed nurse-patient communication from September 1997 to December 1997. The data was obtained through participant observation, interview, audio-tape recording, home video camera, field note-taking, and related documents. After reviewing the whole data and deliberate analysis, first, I learned that most oriental medicine nurses communicate with their patients for their routine nursing job like recording, hand-over to the next duty, report to doctor, etc. I named this type of communication as 'ritual communication'. Second, I can define major argument as follow : Human communication of oriental medicine between nurse and patient is performed more frequently and variously when nurse contacts the patient for the routine nursing activities than for the incidental activities. As a result of these understandings, I suggest that oriental nursing need to develop the body of knowledge and expand its role and independent nursing activity. Also the bureaucratic hospital management centered doctors must be changed reasonalbly.
